Glenn Gibson is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Center Moriches, NY with a tall lean build at 6-4, 180 lbs. He's the son of former Major League left hander Paul Gibson and has obviously learned a lot at his father's side. Gibson has a super smooth delivery and arm action and stays right on plane with the plate with very good balance. His fastball topped out at 86 mph in Atlanta and we've frequently seen it at 88 mph at other times during the summer. His best secondary pitch is a 75 mph change up that has excellent arm speed and deception to it and that he isn't afraid to use at any time in the count. Gibson's 71 mph curveball has shown significant improvement during the past year and is an effective pitch when down in the strike zone. You can expect that he'll be able to develop a slider at some point in the future when he needs it. Gibson has control of his pitches and control over the flow of the game when he's pitching that go beyond his years. With his projectable build and frame, his stuff is still developing. Gibson has committed to Central Florida.

Glenn Gibson is a 6'3", 175 lb., 2006 left hander from New York, and the son of former big league lefty Paul Gibson. He has a very young face and his physical development is as much like a 2007 prospect as a 2006 prospect. He’s very projectable. Gibson has very smooth pitching mechanics, with good balance over the rubber, a tension free arm stroke, and good extension out front. We’ve seen Gibson a number of times in the past and this was the best we’ve seen him throw as far as his stuff goes. His fastball was mostly 83-84 mph (top at 86) with good sinking life and occasional cutting action. The biggest improvement was in Gibson’s curveball. He threw a couple of sharp, biting breaking balls in the 71-72 mph area and we hadn’t seen this type of ability to spin the ball from him before. Gibson's change up has always been a very effective pitch for him at 75-77 mph and he had it working for him also. Overall, it was an excellent showing and gives plenty of encouragement that Gibson is going to keep improving steadily in the future. He could end up being one of the top LHP in the 06 class.

Glenn Gibson is an "06" LHP from NY., who projects in a big way. He has MLB bloodlines (father pitched in the Big Leagues) and a good 6'3/175 body to grow into. He threw in the low 80s in Ft Myers with a very nice change up. That low 80s should sky rocket over the next few years as Glenn gets stronger. His mechanics are very good, well balanced, slower tempo, under control type delivery. He has a good feel for the mound. Should be a very good college lefty with a chance to develop into a good pro prospect down the road. Keep a close eye on him, he could come on strong in the near future.
