Sergio Negrete is a 2008 3B/C with a 6'0'', 195 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Connally. Sergio has a thick frame with broad shoulders. He has present strength, and some room to add to his build. Defensively he showed good actions around third base with good footwork and good range. He does a good job of coming and getting the ball, and he has a quick exchange. He has a strong arm on the infield, and had a top velocity of 84 mph. At the plate Negrete has a line drive swing plane and hits out on his front foot at times. He does a good job of getting his barrel to the ball, and the ball jumps when he gets it centered up.
