Bennett is a 6-0, 175 lb right handed pitcher from Texas who appears a lot bigger and stronger than listed. He throws from a simple step and throw delivery with an over the top release point. Bennett's simple and repeatable delivery enabled him to throw strikes with all his pitches and command the strike zone. His fastball was 79-81 mph with some running action. Both his curveball and change up were quality pitches, especially his change up at 70 mph. Bennett's curveball had nice downer action with his release point. Bennett is doing a good job maximizing his ability at present and has been taught well. We also liked what we saw of Bennett's bat. He uses his strength well offensively and has an aggressive swing with some juice in it that showed well against live pitching. Good student.

Bennett is a junior right handed pitcher from Texas with a medium build and broad shoulders for his height. He threw 4 innings in Fort Myers, maintaining a 77-79 mph straight fastball from a standard ¾’s release point. Bennett has a short arm stroke with some effort in his delivery. His best pitch was a 72 mph change up with sinking life that he showed good feel for. Bennett’s breaking ball was a 65-69 mph slurve with a sweeping break. He threw strikes with all his pitches and worked quickly. While Bennett isn’t a position prospect for the next level, he did show some nice bat speed, with a good coiling action and the ability to make consistent contact. Bennett is a good student.
