William Gonzalez is a 2008 LHP/1B/OF with a 6'3'', 220 lb. frame from Helotes, TX who attends Sandra Day O'Connor. Gonzalez is a strong and very athletic prospect. He is a 6.99 runner who moves very well for a big strong athlete, and he is even faster underway. He hits from a low crouched position and rotates his front knee to trigger his swing. He has quick hips and his bat works. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, and he is very tough on left handed hitters. His fastball shows natural tilt, and he throws his curveball as an effective out-pitch. His fastball was up to 83 mph and he does a good job maintaining arm speed on his curveball.
