Charlie Garner is a 2008 middle infielder with a 5'6'', 140 lb. frame from Vista, California, who attends Rancho Buena Vista HS. Garner has a lean and athletic frame. He ran well in the sixty running a 7.09, and he showed quickness on the bases and in the field. Defensively he gets to the ball well showing body control and the ability to make the routine plays. Garner stays low and showed a good glove in game action. He gets rid of the ball quickly. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a slightly open stance with a narrow base. Garner takes a short stride and he has a short and compact swing. He flashes bat speed, and he takes his hands to the ball well. Garner is a contact hitter, and he is an excellent student as well.
