Mike Grillo is a 2008 MIF with a 5'7'', 135 lb. frame from Ramona, California, who attends Ramona High School. Grillo is a young player with a lean and athletic frame. Defensively he has solid footwork in the middle of the diamond. He gets to the ball well and gets in the proper fielding position. His actions were better in game action where he showed a good glove. He shows range, and he has a quick release on his throws that were 78 mph across the diamond. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a slightly closed and crouched stance. He takes a short stride and has a line drive swing plane. Grillo is a contact hitter who puts the ball in play by using a short and compact swing. He has an upper body swing as well. Grillo showed instincts in game action.
