Erik Nordine is a 2007 SS/3B with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Grand Junction CO, who attends Grand Junction HS. He has a lean athletic frame and projects well to get stronger. Nordine has middle infield actions, with quick feet and short actions. He showed nice range and has the ability to control his body and make off balance throws. Nordine's release is short and quick and that and his raw arm strength are best suited for second base at the next level. Nordine is a 7.02 runner in the 60. At the plate, Nordine has a simple, balanced approach and a compact swing. He made solid line drive contact to all fields and has an idea how to handle the bat head. Nordine tended to get his hands started a little late and that and getting stronger should help him add some pop in the future. Overall, Nordine is a solid all around player with the kind of build and tools that should continue to improve as he matures. He is also a good student.
