Richard Fagan is a 2009 1B/P with a 6'4", 215 lb frame from Nutley, NJ who attends St Benedict's Prep. Richard has a very good body with a tall athletic build. At the plate Richard is primarily a contact hitter that will need to make some adjustments in his approach. He gets no load or leverage in his swing and doesn't produce much bat speed at the time. He needs to do a lot of work in getting his body much move involved in his swing and will need to rework his hitting approach quite a bit. In the field Richard makes a great target at first base and has good hands. On the mound Richard throws with a short loose arm action and a drop and drive delivery. He gets some armside run on his pitches and will make hitters put the ball in play. Richard is a good student that could attract the attention of some smaller colleges.
