2007 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Allen Stiles is a 2008 OF with a 5'8'', 158 lb. frame from Concord, CA who attends De La Salle HS. He played well all event long and could have been named to the top prospect list with no objection from any of the scouting staff. Stiles is an exciting ballplayer. He has a small frame and a compact athletic build. Stiles is a good ballplayer that will continue to get better. He is a top of the order line drive hitter with a short, quick swing and the ability to spray the ball all around the yard. Stiles' swing and hitting approach are similar to Kenny Lofton's. He is a good runner, not a burner, but because he goes full tilt all the time his speed plays up. Stiles battlee each at-bat and has good bat control. With his ball hawking skills he is a good defensive centerfielder. His instincts, jumps, and angles to the ball are all good. His arm plays ok in centerfield. Stiles is a joy to watch. He is talented and plays with passion and energy.
