Cole Shidaki is a 2008 1B/OF with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from Waipahu, Hawaii, who attends St. Louis High School. Shidaki has a nice, athletic frame. He runs well on the bases, and he moves well around the first base bag. Defensively he has soft hands that allows him to field ground balls and pick balls in the dirt. Shidaki showed solid footwork in game action. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits with a high back elbow. Shidaki showed a good swing in game action. He stays on the ball well with the ability to hit to all fields. He stays inside the ball and his hands work well in his swing. He gets leverage at times with projectable power. He has very good upside at the plate. He plays hard as well.

Cole Shidaki is a 2008 1B/OF with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from Waipahu HI, who attends St Louis HS. Selected as a top Prospect at this event. Shidaki has a long, lanky body type. He is lean and well proportioned and should continue to fill out. There is some interesting upside with Shidaki as a hitter, particularly as a power prospect. Shidaki's natural swing has lift in it and his swing happens easily, with fluidity. He has a controlled approach to the baseball and is able to accelerate through contact. He does not have to swing hard to hit the ball for some power. The better his timing gets and the better he is at recognizing pitches will determine if Shidaki can hit for power and average. His hands work really well and his swing has some leverage. He showed the ability to flip the ball to left when he cut down his swing and also showed the ability to go down and get the ball down and turn on it. Defensively Shidaki is an athlete in the outfield. He throws accurately and showed soft hands. Left field looks like a good spot for him. Follow Shidaki's bat closely, he looks to be just scratching the surface of what he can do with the bat.
