Matthew Gallagher is a 2008 3B/OF with a 5'8'', 190 lb. frame from Drexel Hill PA, who attends Bonner. Gallagher has a compact body with a thick build. Defensivley, Gallagher has raw arm strength and throws with a long arm action. He has a quick arm and throws with a jerky arm action. Gallagher has good hands and has some feel for how to play defense. At the plate, Gallagher starts with a square stance and high hands. He stays wide at contact which helps him maintain his balance. He has leverage at contact and looks to pull the baseball. Gallagher pulls off at times and is an aggressive hitter. He generates bat speed and is aggressive in the strike zone. He makes consistent hard contact and has some more power potential in there. Gallagher has strength in his swing and could develop into a solid hitter.
