Kyle Kotchie is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 6'2'', 185 lb. frame from Pickering, Ontario, who attends Pine Ridge High School. Kotchie has a good frame with good present strength throughout. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and throws downhill well. Kotchie stays tall in his delivery with good balance over the rubber. His fastball topped out at 87 mph, and he kept it down in the zone. His slider is his best breaking ball with biting action and solid velocity. Kotchie is projectable on the mound. Defensively he moves well at 1B showing nice footwork and good reactions. He made a great diving stop in one of the showcase games. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a closed and upright stance. There is strength in his swing with raw power. Kotchie has bat speed through the hitting zone that will allow him to hit higher velocity pitchers. Also shows good strike zone awareness. Upside as a two-way player, and is a good student as well.

Kyle Kotchie is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Pickering, ON, who attends Pine Ridge. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Kotchie has a great frame with projectability. On the mound he throws from an extended 3/4 arm slot with cross-body mechanics. He has a loose arm with good arm action. Kotchie's fastball topped out at 86 mph with zip through the zone. He works in and out showing pitchability and good control. He also mixes in a 68 mph curveball that he throws for strikes and a 75 mph changeup with sinking action at times. He has good upside and has projectable velocity. Defensively he has active feet at first base with soft hands. He moves around the base well, and does a great job picking balls in the dirt. Kotchie also has pop in his bat. He gets leverage in his swing with a line drive swing plane. Also has bat speed. Two-way prospect with upside. Good student as well.
