2003 Spring Showcase
This 6 foot 2, 188 pound pitcher does not have the velocity to beat you with his fastball but showed some pitching ability and a body that projects more to come. His build is strong and still lean. He varied his look on the mound and never used the middle of the plate. He showed how effective a good pitcher can be without having the velocity of a Major League prospect by mixing his off-speed pitches well and establishing a good rhythm. His fastball was between 77-79 mph and his curveball was consistently 67 mph at the spot. He even show some hittinmg ability with quiet hands at the plate and delivering a nice shot to the opposite field off an 86 mph fastball.
