Eddie Sirmons: Sirmons is a 6-3 right hander from Palmdale, California who showed us good arm strength and some pitching savvy during his three innings of work. He started out throwing his fastball in the low 80’s early in the game but was up to 84-85 mph by the third inning. Sirmons primarily throws from a ¾’s arm slot but will drop down to side arm a couple times per inning to give hitters a different look and create some more movement on his fastball. His best off-speed pitch is a 67-69 mph change up that he does a very good job maintaining his mechanics and arm speed on. Sirmons also throws a 69-72 mph curveball that he showed the ability to change breaks and speeds with. Sirmons had excellent command of all his pitches during his outing and wasn’t challenged by the hitters, retiring nine straight. He could end up being a special pitcher and good draft pick out of college.
