Mercado does not possess the worlds best baseball body. That will be the first thing scouts notice, but they need to hang around and watch him play. He has some serious talent that could end up in the Big Leagues some day. That not so great body is extremely athletic and there's not much he can't do on a baseball field. He has a very strong accurate arm and cat like quickness behind the plate. He's a very good receiver who knows what he's doing back there. Angel also runs at least MLB average, there's that surprising athletic ability again. He ran an electronic 6.9 in Ft Myers. If the above wasn't enough, this kids best tool is the bat. He shows quick hands, excellent bat speed and he hit the best pitchers in Ft Myers. No problem hitting 90+ and hitting it hard. He's going to end up hitting the long ball. He has a professional approach and uses the entire field. The ball jumps off his bat. We can't guess how high he might be drafted. We only know that he can play professional baseball.
