Boston is a big, strong, athletic outfielder with some very interesting tools. He pulled a muscle while running the 60 and limped across the finish line. Still he managed to run a 6.9 and he ran much better at the Team One National. In fact, he was the fastest guy at Team One. Due to the minor injury, Boston was limited in what he could do in Ft Myers. He did show a strong MLB average arm from the outfield. It’s probably a plus arm without the injury. We understand he is an outstanding football prospect and one look at him convinces us it’s true. Probably the one area where Boston is the rawest is at the plate. He’s so strong that he smokes the ball despite one fairly ugly swing. He actually spreads his hands apart a little on the bat much like someone that is a contact type hitter. It’s hard to tell how much actual hitting ability he might have, but it sure will be interesting to find out. He kind of reminds us of another Florida outfielder from last year who was drafted in the early rounds by the name of Elijah Dukes. Only Dukes seemed to have more power at the plate and a better feel for the game. Boston is uncommitted and he will be followed closely by the scouts with the best imagination. His size and athleticism make him very interesting.
