Ben Gallant is a 2008 C/3B with a 6'0'', 190 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends Hillcrest. Gallant has a medium athletic frame with some strength present. He hits from a slightly open stance, and has a very strong, rotational swing. He has a contact approach, and makes good contact from a level swing plane. Ben battles at the plate, and will make pitchers work to get him out. He hits from a wide base and will spray line drives to all fields with power to the pull side. Behind the plate he has a quick transfer and release and is accurate with his throws. Gallant is also a very good student.
