Tyler West is a 2010 RHP/3B with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Wilmore, KY who attends West Jessamine HS. He has good strength for a young 2010 prospect and looks fairly physically mature. West throws from a tall, straight up delivery with good balance over the rubber and direction to the plate. West's fastball was steady at 79-81 mph and most of his fastballs had late cutting action. He could really use his ability to make the ball move work to his benefit as he starts to throw harder. West's curveball was very good, with hard downer bite and spin. West can spin the ball in two ways and that's a plus for him. He also mixed in a couple of change ups. His overall command was a bit rough. West showed some bat head skills at the plate and was able to make contact against all types of pitching, although his hands are still developing strength. He showed good arm strength from third base on defense. West is a good student.
