2004 Sunshine West Showcase
WP - Derek Bowe is a 2005 OF/1B from Whittier, CA. At 6 foot 2 and 165 pounds, Bowe has a nice build for the future. His actions in the outfield and at the plate are very good and everything we saw him do is easy to project with more speed and power. His running form is good and his arm action is smooth so we expect nice improvements with all the potential he showed in those areas. At the plate he showed a fluid tension free swing that resembled Ken Griffey Jr with good extension and a fluid long finish. He hit easy line drives in succession and one that measured out at approx 340 feet to his pull side. Watch out for him in the future.
