Hunter Koep
RHP - 2017 - Northfield, MN
North Dakota State
Koep is some kind of strong at 6-3/205 and stands out as a two-way prospect. He took the best BP of any Underclass player, showing big pull power, and also drove the ball hard in games. He struck out 8 hitters in 4 innings while topping out at 86 mph on the mound.
Joel Thompson
C - 2017 - Council Bluffs, IA
Kirkwood CC
Thompson has big tools on both sides of the ball and a 6-2/187 build that you can really project. He threw 80 mph in drills from behind the plate and had some of the best bat speed at the showcase.
Johnny Buckner
RHP - 2017 - Grayslake, IL
Uncommitted
Buckner has a loose 6-2/180 build and a well paced and athletic delivery. His fastball topped out at 88 mph and projects to keep getting better as he gets stronger.
Ethan Hayes
OF - 2017 - Cedar Falls, IA
Wartburg College
Hayes has a nice well-rounded set of tools and the athleticism and size at 6-2/190 to keep improving. His right handed swing is loose and fluid and projects lots of power. He hit very well in the games.
Hayden Fiala
SS - 2017 - Sioux Falls, SD
Uncommitted
Fiala catches the eye with his 6-3/180 build and keeps one's attention with his right handed bat speed and power potential. The South Dakota native runs a 6.86 but projects as a third baseman moving forward.
Mason Speirs
C - 2017 - Westminster, CO
Iowa Western CC
Spiers stood out defensively behind the plate with very good one spot quickness and a strong throwing arm that produced a 1.88 pop time. He looked pretty good at multiple other defensive positions, too.
Anthony Alepra
RHP - 2017 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Northwestern
Alepra is very projectable with a loose 6-3/170 build and his run (6.71) and throw (88 mph from the outfield) tools are already very good and are going to keep getting batter, as will his bat speed, as he gets stronger.
Michael Hojnacki
RHP - 2017 - Saint Louis, MO
Bradley
Hojnacki topped out at 87 mph on his fastball over four innings of work and showed good power on a curveball that was up to 74 mph.
Cameron Cratic
OF - 2017 - Madison, WI
Madison College
Cratic is a fast twitch athlete with 6.89 speed in the sixty and fast hands at the plate that produce plenty of left handed bat speed. He's going to pick up both infield hits and plenty of doubles and triples in the future.
Jarred Wood
RHP - 2017 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Northwest Missouri State
Wood has a mature approach on the mound and four pitches that he can throw for strikes. He worked at 83-84 mph this weekend and we've seen him up to 86-87 mph frequently in the past.
Hayden Schaefer
SS - 2017 - O'Fallon, IL
McKendree College
Schaefer's right handed bat speed was impressive and he really drove the ball well when he was timed properly. His middle infield actions were smooth and athletic as well.
Wyell Woods
OF - 2017 - Matteson, IL
Eastern Illinois
Woods is a loose 5-11/170 athlete who is very projectable. He ran a 6.98 sixty and had lots of whippy right handed bat speed at the plate.
Andrew Feist
SS - 2017 - Bismarck, ND
Southwest Baptist
Feist has a nice combination of tools for a middle infielder, including 6.9 speed, soft hands in the infield and a quick right handed swing.
Mike Matovina
RHP - 2017 - Canton, MI
Uncommitted
Matovina has a nice 6-2/175 projectable athletic build and fluid actions in the middle infield. He shows some bat speed from the right side of the plate and developing gap power.
Jacob Wilson
2B - 2017 - Ankeny, IA
Uncommitted
Wilson lacks a bit for size at 5-8/150 but he doesn't lack for quickness, either in his legs with a 6.62 sixty time or in his hands with a quick right handed swing that has some pull pop.
Clayton Nettleton
RHP - 2018 - Davenport, IA
Kirkwood CC
Nettleton is extremely polished for a 2018 pitcher and throws from an easy delivery with advanced command of three solid pitches, including a consistent mid 80's fastball and sharp 75 mph slider.
Miko Rodriguez
OF - 2018 - Ada, MI
Southern California
Rodriguez is extra strong for a 2018 at 6-1/190 but is also a 6.86 runner with lots of arm strength already from the outfield. He swings hard at the plate and has bat speed with power to come when he learns how to extend through contact better.
Zach Messinger
RHP - 2018 - Chandler, IN
Virginia
Messinger has a very projectable 6-4/180 build and shows lots of athleticism, including running a 6.96 sixty. He was up to 84 mph on the mound and showed good hard spin on his breaking ball.
Brayden Frazier
IF - 2018 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Iowa
Frazier is a polished hitter with present bat speed and the ability to square up the ball consistently in games. He has solid actions on defense and will be able to stay in the middle of the field if he keeps getting faster.
Jaden Rolffs
C - 2018 - Pella, IA
Iowa Western CC
Rolffs is a big and strong athlete at 6-1/190 and generates lots of raw bat speed and lift in his swing. He also has a strong arm behind the plate.
Drew Black
SS - 2018 - Overland Park, KS
Neosho County CC
Black has a fluid right handed swing with bat speed and good looseness out front and projects very well offensively. He's also fluid in his actions in the middle infield.
Levi Usher
OF - 2018 - Fairfax, IA
Louisville/Kirkwood CC
Usher stands out for his strong run and throw tools, including 6.96 speed and a big 890 mph outfield throwing arm. Improvement in his left handed bat will jump his prospect status.
Matt McCormick
C - 2019 - Orland Park, IL
West Virginia
McCormick is extra strong for a 2019 and will likely have to pay attention to not getting too strong and stiff. For now he's quick and athletic and his strength gives him impressive left handed bat speed.
Andrew Wiegman
SS - 2019 - Antioch, IL
Louisville
Wiegman is 6-2/160 and is already showing some raw tools in his bat speed, running speed and arm strength. He'll be a fun player to watch develop over the next four years.
Harrison Cook
RHP - 2019 - Solon, IA
Kentucky
Cook is a very interesting young athlete, with a slender 6-4/155 build but lots of present athleticism and tools. He threw up to 82 mph off the mound and is just going to keep getting better.
Calvin Harris
C - 2020 - Peosta, IA
Mississippi
Harris is an impressive athlete for his age and looked like he belonged out on the field with players 3 years older. His arm strength and catching actions are especially impressive and he has the beginnings of some real bat speed at the plate.
