Upstate Mavericks advance to Championship

The Upstate Mavericks defeated the Georgia Jackets 3-2 as Richard Gregory (2016, Gaffney HS, SC) scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 8th on a wild pitch to advance to the Championship game.  Leadoff man, Joe Satterfield (2016, J L Mann HS, SC), went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 walk.  Clayton Caudell (2016, Boiling Springs HS, SC) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Douglas Angeli Jr. (2017, Dorman HS, SC) also showed well going 1-4 with 1 triple and 1 RBI.  

Russ Branch (2016, Burns HS, NC) earned the win for the Mavericks going 4 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and no walks, while recording 1 strikeouts.  Branch featured a 68-71 mph curveball and also effectively worked in a 59-62 mph curveball.  

For the Jackets' offense, Parker Enright (2016, North Forsyth HS, GA) went 1-1 with 1 triple and 1 RBI.  

Jackets' starter, Noah Lampert (2017, North Springs HS, GA), impressed on the mound going 7 strong innings allowing just 2 runs, 1 earned, on 7 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  While pitching, Lampert relied on a mix between his 77-79/81 mph fastball and his 67-69/70 mph curveball.  

OTC tops Home Plate Black

OTC Baseball 16U defeated Home Plate Black 3-1 in their consolation game.  Ernie Valintin (2016, Luella HS, GA) led the way for OTC going 1-2 with 1 double on the day.  Zachary Skeen (2016, Luella HS, GA) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 4 stolen bases.  Orod Rodriguez (2016, Locust Grove HS, GA) used a quiet approach and a balanced swing to go 2-2 day with 2 runs scored and 3 stolen bases at the plate.  

Jake Burch (2016, Ola HS, GA) started and won the game for OTC going all 7 innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 2 hits and 5 walks, while recording 5 strikeouts.  Burch threw easy and showed a smooth, online delivery on the mound, featuring a 67-71/74 mph fastball that had sinking action, as well as a 60-62 mph changeup that flashed potential.  

For the Home Plate Black, Wilson Wolfe (2017, Woodward Academy HS, GA) went 1-2 with 1 RBI and 1 walk.  

Storr and Rosenblum lift Sand Sharks to W

The South Jersey Sand Sharks Showcase defeated the Complete Game Bulldogs 12-4 in their consolation game.  Thomas Storr (2016, Atlantic City HS, NJ) and Bradley Rosenblum (2016, St Joseph HS, NJ) led the Sand Sharks' offense each going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI on the day.  Kyle Gerace (2016, Mainland Reg HS, NJ) also showed well going 2-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Pennsylvania commit, Brendan Bean (2017, Wildwood HS, NJ), added in a 2-2 day with 2 runs scored, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  

Gordon (TJ) Neil (2016, Absegami HS, NJ) started and earned the win for the Sand Sharks going 4 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 7.  Neil featured a 72-77/78 mph fastball and also mixed in a 64-66 mph curveball.  

For the Bulldogs, David Hollie (2018, Cross Creek HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI. while Eric Becker (2017, Greenbrier HS, GA) went 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  

Upstate Mavericks hang on to 6-4 Win

The Upstate Mavericks hung on to win the Championship over the BigStix Gamers Cardinals 17U, 6-4.

Bo McKinney (2017, Travelers Rest HS, SC) went 2-3 at the plate to lead the way, with a double and a single.  Joey Allen (2016, White Knoll HS, SC) went 1-3 with a triple, one run and two RBIs.  Douglas Angeli Jr. (2017, Dorman HS, SC) went 1-2 with a double, and one RBI.  Gabriel Holt (2017, Veterans HS, SC) also went 1-2 with a single, one run and one RBI.

On the mound, Richard Gregory (2016, Gaffney HS, SC) pitched four complete innings of work, giving up two earned runs on four hits and had one strikeout.  He had a fastball that averaged 81-83/85 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs, along with a slider and a changeup for his off-speed pitches.

For the Cardinals, Townsend went 2-4 with two singles and one run scored.  English went 1-2 with a single and one run scored in the contest.


Pitching Carries the Yankees to 5-1 Win

Strong pitching carried the Georgia Elite Yankees to the easy win, defeating Team Mississippi, 5-1.

Channing Walker (2017, Southwest DeKalb HS, GA) pitched a complete game, giving up no runs, just two hits, and struck out three.  He showed command on the mound, with a fastball that peaked at 81 mph, and also mixed in a good curveball and changeup for his off-speed pitches.

At the plate, Samuel Anthony (2016, Hardaway HS, GA) went 1-3 with a single, two runs scored, and one RBI.  Demond Lampkin (2016, Fitzgerald HS, GA) went 1-3 as well, with a triple and three RBIs in the game.


West Cobb Heat edge by Cumberland

The West Cobb Heat edged by Upper Cumberland Baseball in a close game, 2-1.

Bryson Parks (2017, Hillgrove HS, GA) led the way, going 1-2 with a double, and one run scored.  Chandler Hilton (2016, Hillgrove HS, GA) also went 1-2, with a single and one run scored.  Ethan Cosper (2017, Mceachern HS, GA) went 1-3 with a single, and one RBI in the contest.  Luke Torbert (2017, Hillgrove HS, GA) pitched five innings of work, giving up no runs, five hits, and struck out eight.  He had a fastball that averaged 80-82/84 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs for his off-speed pitch.

For Upper Cumberland, Austin Helton (2016, Stone Memorial HS, TN) went 1-3 with a single, and Stephen Mills (2016, Cookeville HS, TN) went 1-2 with a single of his own.


Gamers advance past Chilidogs

The BigStix Gamers Cardinal 17U defeated the Home plate Chilidogs-Childs 12-1 in the Semifinals to advance to the Championship game.  Antonio Johnson (2016, Forest Park HS, GA) led the way for the Gamers offense going 3-3 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Cord Johnson added in another big day at the plate going 3-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Jacob Garner (2016, Union Grove HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  

Brock Carter (2017, Alcovy HS, GA) started and won the game for the Gamers going 5 innings allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks, while recording 2 strikeouts.  Carter featured a 76-81/82 mph fastball and also mixed in a handful of 67-70 mph curveballs. At the plate, Carter went 1-2 with 1 double.  

For the Chilidogs, Bruce went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

Team Elite Louisville Slugger defeated the RBI Knoxville Stars 7-3 in their consolation game.  Walker Sasser (2017, Harrison HS, GA) led the way for the Louisville Slugger offense going 3-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Michael Wright (2017, Alexander HS, GA) showed a short, compact swing going 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Connor Weldy (2017, West Fosyth HS, GA) went 2-2 with 1 stolen base and DeAngelo Abboud (2017, Brookwood HS, GA) showed a fluid stroke and quick bat going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  

Tyson Daffin (2017, South Forsyth HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Louisville Slugger offense going 5 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 2 batters.  Daffin featured a 70-73/74 mph fastball and mixed in a 53 mph curveball.

Team DeMarini 16U Tieles defeated Showtime Sports Academy 16U 18-4 in their consolation game.  Jake Lecroy (2017, Kell HS, GA) led the way for the DeMarini offense going 1-2 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.  Parker Orr (2017, Pope HS, GA) also had a big offensive day going 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  David Dunn (2017, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA) showed well giong 4-4 with 1 triple, 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Duncan McCance (2017, South Forsyth HS, GA) added in a 3-3 day at the plate with 2 runs scored and Thomas Hamill (2017, Northview HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  

Gabe Grosswald (2018, Norcross HS, GA) started and earned the win for DeMarini going 3 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits and no walks, while striking out 1.  Grosswald featured a 69-73 mph fastball and also mixed in a 61-65 mph curveball.

The Georgia Jackets defeated Team Elite Prime 16U 4-1 in their quarterfinal game to advance.  Austin Weiermiller (2017, Alpharetta HS, GA) started and earned the win for Team Elite Prime going 5 innings allowing just 1 run on 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 11 batters.  Weiermiller featured a 79-82/83 mph fastball that he showed the ability to sink and also mixed in a 65-69 mph curveball that flashed potential as well as a good 68-73 mph changeup.  

Tyler Koch (2016, North Forsyth HS, GA) led the way for the Jackets' offense going 1-1 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  Kale Ledford also showed well going 1-3 with 2 RB and Chaney Rogers (2017, Gordon Lee HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 run scored.  

For Team Elite Prime, Darius Foster (2017, Lambert HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 run scored and MacKenzie (Mac) Ruedt (2017, Peachtree Ridge HS, GA) went 1-3.

The Home Plate Chilidogs - Childs defeated the BigStix Gamers Navy 17U 8-6 to advance past the quarter finals.  Haves Heinecke (2018, Starrs Mill HS, GA) led the way for the Chilidogs' offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Leadoff man, Bruce, went 2-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI as well.  Also showing well was Evert who went 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Will Evans (2017, Starrs Mill HS, GA) added in a 1-2 day with 2 RBI.  

Jared McFall (2016, Northgate HS, GA) earned the win out of the bullpen for the Chilidogs going 2 innings of relief allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 2 hits and 1 walk.  McFall featured a 73-74/75 mph fastball with a 63-67 mph curveball.  

For the Gamers, Josh Palmer went 2-3 blasting 1 home run, scoring 2 runs and knocking in 1 as well.  Matt Miller went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI, while Grant Darden (2017, Gatewood HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

Pride top Team Elite

The East Cobb Pride defeated Team Elite Black 6-5 in their consolation game.  Nick Malchesky (2017, Dalton HS, GA) earned the win out of the bullpen going 1 1/3 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit and 1 walk, while striking out 1 batter.  Malchesky used a short arm action and got cut action on his 67-72/73 mph fastball with a 60-64 mph curveball.  From the leadoff spot, Malchesky also impressed at the plate going 2-3 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  

As for the rest of the Pride offense, Austin Trammell went 3-4 with 1 triple, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Grant Clark (2017, Dalton HS, GA) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

For Team Elite, Matthew Stewart (2017,  West Forsyth HS, GA) went 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 walk, while Davis Tovey (2017, Brookwood HS, GA) scored and knocked in 1 run, as well as earning 1 walk.

Barrett Baseball defeated Team 360 Baseball 8-4 in their consolation game.  Bailey Gerstner (2016, North Forsyth HS, GA) led the way for the Barrett offense going 3-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 2 stolen bases and 1 walk.  Triston Campbell (2016, North Forsyth HS, GA) also showed well going 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 1 stolen base and 1 walk, while Alex Jacovetty (2016, Johns Creek HS, GA) went 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  James Parker III (2016, Kings Ridge Christian HS, GA) added in a 1-3 day with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  

Tristan Sumpter (2016, Peachtree Ridge HS, GA) started and earned the win for Barrett going 5 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 3 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 3.  Sumpter featured a 73-78/80 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-67/68 mph curveball.

The BigStix Gamers Navy 17U defeated Team Mississippi 2-1 in seven innings.

The Gamers pitching staff led the game for the team. Johnny Cook went the longest with four innings. He allowed the one run with two hits. He walked five batters and struck out seven on his 82 mph fastball. Justin Smith (2016, Griffin, GA) finished the last three innings. He did not surrender a hit, walk, or a run. He struck out four on his 79 mph fastball.

Offensively, Terrell Frazier (2016, Atlanta, GA) knocked the only RBI off his single. Alex Johnson roped a single and scored one run.

Team Mississippi pitching went head to hexad with the Gamers. Landon Austin (2016, Mathiston, MS) went most of the game with 5.1 innings on the mound. He allowed one earned run with three hits. He walked just one batter and struck out eight batters on his 79 mph fastball.

For their offense, Baron Davies (2016, Southaven, MS) connected for a double for his team, and Lee Sciple (2017, Shuqualak, MS) helped with a single.

Team Elite Prime 16U defeated Team Easton 4-2 in seven innings.

Ivan Johnson (2017, Atlanta, GA) led the offensive for Team Elite with a home run, triple, and a single with two RBIs and scoring twice. Beau Hanna (2017, Winder, GA) and Jay Pendley (2017, Buford, GA) each helped with a single.

Oscar Serratos (2017, Larenceville, GA) pitched the most effectively with three innings of work. He let two hits fall without a run to occur. He did not walk a batter and struck out five on his 83 mph fastball.

For Team Easton, Hunter Gaddis (2016, Canton, GA) led the offense with two doubles and scoring twice. Bradley Adcock (2016, Canton, GA) and Jared Donald (2016, Marietta, GA) added a single each.

Jason Rogers (2016, Canton, GA) went three innings on the mound for his team. He allowed one hit with no runs. He did not walk a batter and struck out three on his 72 mph fastball.

The Georgia Elite Yankees tied with the Showtime Sports Academy 16U 6-6 at the end of seven innings.

Demarcus Reid (2016, Riverdale, GA) led the Yankees with a triple and a single with two RBIs. Demond Lampkin (2016, Fitzgerald, GA) helped with a two RBI single and later scoring, and Patrick Crutchfield (2016, Riverdale, GA) knotted two singles with a RBI and scoring twice. Samuel Anthony (2016, Columbus, GA) helped with a single and two runs.

Anthony Nettles (2016, Morrow, GA) tossed 2.1 innings for his team. He allowed one earned run with a hit. He walked three batters and struck out five on his 80 mph fastball.

For Showtime, Lofton Cotton (2017, Franklin, TN) led the team with a triple and a single while getting pinned with two RBIs and two runs. Cooper Mays (2017, Franklin, TN) helped with a double and a single with a RBI and a run. Nick Sanders (2017, Lebanon, TN) contributed a RBI single as well.

Try Grimes (2017, Franklin, TN) tossed most of the game with 3.1 innings. He allowed one run that was unearned with a hit to be surrendered. He walked five and struck out seven on his 80 mph fastball. 

Mavs Pitchers Tosses Perfect Game

The Upstate Mavericks defeated the Complete Game Bulldogs 12-0 in four innings.

John Grigg (2016, Lawndale, NC) only pitched one inning for his team. He struck out the side without a walk, hit, or run to occur. He maxed the gun at 80 mph fastball. He has a good del curveball with a long but quick arm action. Noah Cole (2016, Marietta, GA) pitched the last three innings. He did not allow a run, walk, or a hit while on the mound. He struck out three batters as well. He ran the radar up to 84 mph. He has a good curve that flashes potential with a short arm action. He has riding life on his fastball with a 3/4 arm angle. 

Offensively, Clayton Caudell (2016, Inman, SC) led the team with a triple and a single while tacking two RBIs and scoring twice Richard Gregory (2016, Gaffney, SC) matched with a double and a single but scored three RBIs and only touched home once. Chris Thompson (2016, Simpsonville, SC) added a three RBI triple, and Joey Allen (2016, Lexington, SC) knocked a RBI single and a run.

The Georgia Elite Yankees defeated Team Elite Prime 16U 7-6 in seven innings.

For the Yankees, Patrick Crutchfield (2016, Riverdale, GA) came in the clutch for his team in the seventh with a two RBI double. He finished the game with a double and a single with three RBIs and a run. Samuel Anthony (2016, Columbus, GA) helped with a single while scoring three times. Chris Heinzelman (2016, Columbus, GA) contributed a single and two run.s Demarcus Reid (2016, Riverdale, GA) connected with a RBI single of his own.

For Team Elite, Terence Norman (2016, Marietta, GA) led the offense with a triple and two singles while tacking on three RBIs. Ivan Johnson (2017, Atlanta, GA) added two singles while scoring twice, and Darius Foster (2017, Suwanee, GA) helped with a single and two runs. Will Hardigree (2017, Auburn, GA) roped a RBI single for his team.

James Nix (2017, Huntsville, AL) was the most consistent pitcher for his team. He allowed one run that was unearned off one hit. He walked just one batter and struck out four on his 83 mph fastball.

Despite Early Lead, Foundation Sports Fall 8-3

Team DeMarini 16U Tieles defeated the Foundation Sports A's 16U Searcy 8-3 in seven innings.

David Dunn (2017, Alpharetta, GA) led Team DeMarini with a triple and a single while scoring two RBIs and touching home twice. Brett Graczyk (2017, Cumming, GA) and Parker Orr (2017, Marietta, GA) each finished the game with two hits along with a RBI and a run. Thomas Hamill (2017, Duluth, GA) added a RBI single of his own.

Hamill was the most effective pitcher for his team while on the mound. He went three innings without a run to score on two hits. He walked one and struck out four on his 79 mph fastball. He has a good extension out front while pitching downhill. He has arm side run on his fastball with a good curve. 

For Foundation Sports A's, Joshua Perry (2017, Newnan, GA), Jared Whipple (2017, Fayetteville, GA), and Andrew Padovano (2017, Zebulon, GA) each led the team with each cracking a RBI single. Tanner Crews (20187, Woodbury, GA) and Armoni Tigner (2016, Hampton, GA) added a double each. 


Mavericks Shut Down Stars

The Upstate Mavericks defeated the RBI Knoxville Stars 4-1 in seven innings.

Chris Thompson (2016, Simpsonville, SC) led the Mavericks offense with a two game with a single and a walk. Gabriel Holt (2017, Bonaire, GA) crushed a solo home run in the game. 

Stew Merdian (2016, Galax, VA) took over the pitching duties for his team with six innings of work. He allowed one run and four hits to fall. He walked just one and struck out four on his 84 mph fastball. He has good command with a short arm action. He hides the ball well while knowing how to pitch out of trouble. 

Kevin Escalona (2016, Seymour, TN) was the only player to touch home for the Stars. He also added a double for his team. Evan Porter (2017, Marryville, TN) smoked a triple in the game.

The Home Plate Black defeated the Upper Cumberland Baseball 8-6 in seven innings. 

Michael Young (2017, Peachtree City, GA) led the Home Plate with a pair of singles, a pair of RBIs, and scoring once. William Curvino (2016, Carrollton, GA) helped with two singles and a run score. Zach Montgomery (2017, Peachtree City, GA) roped two singles as well with a RBI and a run. Joseph Lopez (2018, Peachtree City, GA) contributed a RBI triple and later scored. Price added a RBI single and a run.

Ethan Gazan (2018, Newnan, GA) led the pitching duties with four innings on the mound. He allowed two run with four hits. He walked one and struck out one on his 75 mph fastball.
 
Dalton Barnes (2017, Crossville, TN) had a big day at the plate for Upper Cumberland with a three RBI game and one single. Joseph Stockton (2017, Sparta, TN) helped with a double and single with a run scored. Taylor Hall (2016, Cookeville, TN) jumped in with a two RBI single. 

Stephen Mills (2017, Cookeville, TN) led the pitching staff with only two innings of work. He did not allow a run and just one hit. He maxed out the gun at 73 mph.

Will Lovett (2017, Kennesaw, GA) led Team Easton with a pair of singles with two RBIs and scoring once. Parker Covington (2017, Rome, GA) and Aaron Innes (2016, Acworth, GA) each contributed two singles with a RBI and scoring twice. Jared Donald (2016, Marietta, GA) roped a RBI double and a run.

For the Yankees, Demond Lampkin (2016, Fitzgerald, GA) and Anthony Ward (2016, Phenix City, AL) each led the team with each collecting three hits with a run scored. Patrick Crutchfield (2016, Riverdale, AL) helped with a  double and a single with a RBI and a run. Samuel Anthony (2016, Columbus, GA) contributed a pair of singles and scoring two runs. Demarcus Reid (2016, Riverdale, GA) added a pair of singles and a RBI along with a run.

The BigStix Gamers Navy 17U tied with Team DeMarini 16U Tieles 9-9 at the end of seven innings.

Matthew Dunaway (2016, McDonough, GA) led the Gamers offense with a three RBI double. Hayden Stanley (2017, McDonough, GA) and Alex Johnson each knocked a RBI single to help their team. 

Hendricks showed some consistency on the mound for his team. He went 4.1 innings with just one run to score off three this. He walked a pair and struck out three on his 78 mph fastball. 

Blake Fraley (2016, Marietta, GA) led Team DeMarini with a two RB single, and David Dunn (2017, Alpharetta, GA) added two singles with two RBIs and scoring twice. Brett Graczyk (2017, Cumming, GA) knocked a RBI single and later scored.

Team Elite Louisville Slugger defeated the South Jersey Sand Sharks Showcase 5-4 to improve to 2-0-1 in the tournament.  Walker Sasser (2017, Harrison HS, GA) led the Louisville Slugger offense going 3-3 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  Drew Bolden (2017, Westlake HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.   

Spencer Chapman (2017, Parkview HS, GA) earned the win for Louisville Slugger going 2 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs, only 1 earned, on 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 2.  Chapman used an online delivery with his 74-78/79 mph fastball which showed armside run and he also mixed in a 62-66 mph curveball.  He also had a strong day at the plate going 1-3 day with 2 RBI at the plate. 

For the Sand Sharks, Kyle Gerace (2016, Mainland Reg HS, NJ) went 3-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Pennsylvania commit, Brendan Bean (2017, Wildwood HS, NJ), went 1-3 with 1 double and  1 run scored.

The Georgia Jackets defeated the East Cobb Pride 6-2 to remain undefeated at 3-0 in the tournament.  Tyler Koch (2016, North Forsyth HS, GA) earned the win tossing 4 innings allowing just 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits and 1 walk.  Koch showed a smooth, online delivery with his 77-79/80 mph fastball and also mixed in a 64-68 curveball.  Bryce Bowen (2017, Elbert County HS, GA) also impressed on the mound tossing 3 1-hit innings and recording 4 strikeouts.  Bowen showed a deceptive delivery and threw easy with his 77-81/82 mph fastball that had armside run as a 68-72 mph changeup.

Harrison LeBlanc (2017, Lambert HS, GA) led the Jackets' offense going 1-2 with 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Chaney Rogers (2017, Gordon Lee HS, GA) added in a 2-3 day and Will Lumpkin (2016, Handley HS, AL) went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

The RBI Knoxville Stars defeated Barrett Baseball 8-1 to improve to 2-1 in the tournament.  Leadoff man, Bryce Hodge (2017, Halls HS, TN), helped spark the offense by going 2-4 with 2 doubles, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Kevin Escalona (2016, Seymour HS, TN) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  David Beam (2017, Bearden HS, TN) added in a 2-4 day with 1 run scored.  
Levi Everett (2017, Powell HS, TN) started and earned the win for the Stars going 5 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and no walks, while striking out 3.  Everett's arm worked well and he pitched downhill with a 79-83/85 mph fastball that showed cut action and also mixed in a 67-71 mph curveball that flashed potential.

The BigStix Gamers Cardinal 17U defeated Team Elite Black 4-1 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament.  Christian Young (2016, Locust Grove HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Gamers tossing 6 innings allowing 1 unearned run o 6 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8 batters.  Young featured a 74-79/80 mph fastball and also effectively mixed in a 65-69 mph curveball.  

Cord Johnson (2016, Union Grove HS, GA) led the Gamers' offense going 2-3 with 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Townsend also showed well going 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  Boyd added in a 1-2 day with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

The South Jersey Sand Sharks Showcase defeated Team 360 Baseball 11-3 to even their record at 1-1 in the tournament.  Pennsylvania commit, Brendan Bean (2017, Wildwood HS, NJ), led the Sand Sharks' offense by showing a live bat and gap power as he went 2-2 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, 3 RBI and 1 walk.  Gordon (TJ) Neil (2016, Absegami HS, NJ) also showed well going 2-3 with 1 double, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Nick Hillesheim (2017, Absegami HS, NJ) added in a 1-2 day with 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases.

Joshua Arnold (2016, Ocean City HS, NJ) started and earned the win for the Sand Sharks going 5 strong innings allowing 3 runs, but just 1 earned, on 4 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 2.  Arnold was around the plate with all of his pitches, including his 77-82/85 mph fastball and a 70-73 mph curveball which he used as his out pitch.  He also had a nice day at the plate going 1-3 day with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  

For Team 360, Robby Proud (2017, Buford HS, GA) went 1-1 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 walk.  Hunter Autrey (2016, North Gwinnett HS, GA) also collected 2 RBI in the game.

Tyler Courtney (2017, Starrs Mill HS, GA) led the Gamers' offense by going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Evan also had a big offensive day going 2-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Brock Carter (2017, Alcovy HS, GA) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double and 1 run scored day at the plate, while Townsend went 2-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Antonio Johnson (2016, Forest Park HS, GA) also showed well going 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.

The Home Plate Chilidogs - Childs defeated Team 360 Baseball 7-2 to improve to 2-0-1 in the tournament.  Hayes Heinecke (2018, Starrs Mill HS, GA) led the way for the Chilidogs' offense showing a live bat and power potential going 2-3 with 2 doubles and 1 run scored.  Kent showed a quick bat going 1-3 day with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI day.  Leadoff man, Bruce, went 1-4 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Emelio Morales (2017, East Coweta HS, GA) added in a 1-3 day with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI, while Evert went 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Miller McCathren (2017, Landmark Christian HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Chilidogs going 5 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 3.  McCathren used a short, quick arm action and attacked hitters with a 73-75/77 mph fastball, that had armside run, and a 62-65 mph curveball.

Upper Cumberland Baseball defeated Team Elite Black 4-2 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Cody Hutcherson (2017, Cookeville HS, TN) dominated on both the mound and at the plate for Upper Cumberland tossing 7 impressive innings allowing just 2 unearned runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 7.  Hutcherson featured a 73-77/79 mph fastball and mixed in a 69-70/71 mph curveball.  At the plate, Hutcherson went 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. 

As for the rest of the offense, leadoff man, Charles Harris (2016, Cookeville HS, TN), went 2-2 with 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Dalton Barnes (2017, Stone Memorial HS, TN) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

The West Cobb Heat defeated OTC Baseball 16U to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Leadoff man, Justin Reilly (2017, South Paulding HS, GA), helped spark the Heat offense going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Avery Maddox (2017, Hillgrove HS, GA) went 2-3 with 2 RBI and Nate Butterworth (2016, East Paulding HS, GA) went 1-4 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Sam Kuchinski (2017, Harrison HS, GA) also showed well going 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Ethan Cosper (2017, Mceachern HS, GA) earned the win out of the bullpen for the Heat tossing 3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit, while recording 4 strikeouts.  Cosper showed a smooth, online delivery and attacked hitters with a 75-83/84 mph fastball that showed good sink.  

For OTC, Drew Compton (2016, Spalding HS, GA) went 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 walk.  

Mississippi wins behind Conner's strong start

Team Mississippi defeated the Foundation Sports A's - 16U Searcy 9-2 in their first game of the tournament.  Justin Conner (2016, Starkville HS, MS) started and earned the win for Team Mississippi going 6 2/3 innings allowing just 2 runs on 9 hits and no walks, while striking out 2.  Connor featured a 67-70 mph fastball and mixed in a 57-61 mph curveball.

Luke Clement (2017, DeSoto Central HS, MS) led the way offensively for Team Mississippi going 1-1 with 1 double and 2 RBI.  Chay Herring (2016, Stringer Attendance Center HS, MS) also showed well going 1-4 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases.  Luke Files (2017, Southeast HS, MS) and Mason Wilkerson (2016, South Panola HS, MS) each singled and had 1 RBI on the day as well.  

For the A's, Jared Whipple (2017, Whitewater HS, GA) went 2-3 and Joshua Perry (2018, Northgate HS, GA) went 2-2 with 1 run scored.

Louisville Slugger leadoff man, Patrick Baum (2016, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA), showed a live bat and displayed power to all fields going 3-3 with 1 triple, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Bryan Petty (2017, Mill Creek HS, GA) added in a 1-3 day with 2 RBI.

For the Chilidogs, Evert went 2-3 with 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Horne also showed well going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Will Evans (2017, Starrs Mill HS, GA) kept the strong offensive day going as he went 2-3 with 1 run scored.

Team Easton defeated the Showtime Sports Academy 16U 4-2 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Larry Meisner (2017, Mceachern HS, GA) started and earned the win for Easton going 7 strong innings allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Mesiner got good extension out front and got good armside run on his 73-76/77 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-69 mph curveball.  

Jared Donald (2016, Kell HS, GA) stayed inside the ball well and showed a fluid stroke going 3-4 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base to help carry the Easton offense.  Alex Glier (2017, Decatur HS, GA) used good bat speed and a patient approach going 1-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases and 2 walks.  Bradley Adcock (2016, Sequoyah HS, GA) added in a 1-2 day with 1 RBI and 1 walk.

The Upstate Mavericks defeated Barrett Baseball 9-2 thanks to a 7 run 7th inning to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Gabriel Holt (2017, Veterans HS, GA) led the way for the Mavericks' offense going 2-3 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Noah Cole (2016, Wheeler HS, GA) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 2 walks.  Joey Allen (2016, White Knoll HS, SC) added in a 1-4 day with 1 double and 1 RBI.

Winston Cannon (2016, Upperman HS, TN) took the tough-luck-loss for Upper Cumberland tossing 6 no-hit innings allowing 1 unearned run on 6 walks, while striking out 9 batters.  Cannon set up hitters well and used a smooth delivery on his 79-84/86 mph fastball with a 69-75 mph curveball that he used at his out pitch.

The Complete Game Bulldogs defeated Barrett Baseball 4-1 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  David Hollie (2018, Cross Creek HS, GA) led the way for the Bulldogs on both the mound and at the plate tossing 3 innings of scoreless relief in the win allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  On the mound, Hollie showed a quick arm and a 76-80/81 mph fastball that showed good armside run.  At the plate, Hollie used an aggressive approach and good bat speed to go 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Chase Frady (2018, Greenbrier HS, GA) also showed well at the plate going 1-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI.

Jackson Braden (2017, Calhoun HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Pride going 6 shutout innings allowing just 6 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 3.  Braden showed a quick, solid arm action with his 75-81/82 mph fastball with a 65-70 mph curveball.  

For the Heat, leadoff man, Ethan Cosper (2017, Mceachern HS, GA), went 2-3 and Bryson Parks (2017, Hillgrove HS, GA) went 2-4 with 1 RBI.

Georgia Jackets defeated the OTC Baseball 16U 10-9 thanks to a walk off single from leadoff man, Brett Hawkins (2016, Cambridge HS, GA), who went 1-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 2 walks. Lee Kay (2017, Heard County HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Kale Ledford (2017, George Walton Academy HS, GA) added in a 2-3 day at the plate with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Will Lumpkin (2016, Handley HS, AL) used a balanced swing and good bat speed to go 1-2 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  

Austin Weiremiller (2017, Alpharetta HS, GA) earned the win for the Jackets tossing 3 innings allowing 4 runs, but only 2 earned, on 1 hit and 3 walks, while striking out 7.  Weiremiller showed a short arm action and projectable stuff, including a 79-83/85 mph fastball with a armside run and a 69-72 mph curveball that flashed potential.  

For OTC, Drew Compton (2016, Spalding HS, GA) went 1-4 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base, while Zachary Skeen (2016, Luella HS, GA) went 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  


Hanna powers Prime to win

Team Elite Prime 16U defeated Showtime Sports Academy 16U 6-1 in their first game of the tournament.  Beau Hanna (2017, Winder-Barrow HS, GA) showed big raw power and a quick bat as he powered the Prime offense going 1-3 with a 3-run home run.  Ivan Johnson (2017, North Springs HS, GA) added in a 1-3 day with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Leadoff man, Benjamin Siegel (2017, North Springs HS, GA), went 1-1 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Darius Foster (2017, Lambert HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases.  

Jay Pendley (2017, Mill Creek HS, GA) started and earned the win for Team Elite Prime 16U going 4 strong innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5.  Pendley hid the ball well and got good hip rotation on the mound, he featured a 81-85 mph fastball that had armside run.  

For Showtime, Christian Jordan (2017, Martin Luther King Jr Magnet Pearl HS, TN) went 1-1 with 1 stolen base.  

Late rally lifts Chilidogs over Sand Sharks

The Home Plate Chilidogs-Childs defeated the South Jersey Sand Sharks Showcase 4-3 in their first game of the tournament thanks to a 4 run bottom of the 6th inning.  Hayes Heinecke (2018, Starrs Mill HS, GA) led the way for the Chilidogs' offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Ryan Dyal (2019, East Coweta HS, GA) added in a 2-3 day with 1 RBI and Kent also showed well going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.    

Mincho Herod (2017, Homeschooled, GA) earned the win out of the bullpen tossing 2 innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 2 hits, while striking out 1.  While on the mound, Herod used a 70-72 cut fastball as well as a 62-67 mph curveball.  Jared McFall (2016, Northgate HS, GA) was the Chilidogs' starter who went 5 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 6 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 7.  McFall changed speeds and showed a loose arm action as he featured a 75-78 mph fastball with a 67-72 mph curveball.

For the Sand Sharks, Pennsylvania University commit, Brendan Bean (2017, Wildwood HS, NJ), earned a no-decision going 5 shutout innings allowing just 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8.  Bean attacked hitters and showed good command with his 78-82/83 mph fastball with a 69-72 mph curveball.  

Offensively for the Sand Sharks, Gordon (TJ) Neil (2016, Absegami HS, NJ) went 1-4 with 1 double and 2 RBI, while Nick Trifiletti (2016, Mainland Reg HS, NJ) went 2-3 with 1 double.
