The East Cobb Yankees defeated Team Elite 18's Prime 5-1 to move past the Quarterfinals.  The Yankees' offense got a boost from Kyle McCann (2016, Lambert HS, GA) who blasted a 2-run home run and Jacobsen who went 2-3 with a solo home run and a stolen base.  Georgia Tech commit, Tyler Stephenson (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA), added in a 1-3 day with 1 RBI.

and Kieboom earned the win out of the bullpen tossing 2 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while recording 2 strikeouts.  Kieboom featured a 79-82 mph fastball and mixed in a low 70's slider.  He also went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base at the plate. 

For Team Elite, UNC commit, Jahmai Jones (2015, Wesleyan HS, GA), went 1-2 with 1 stolen base and 1 walk. 

Cyclones win Championship

The Chatanooga Cyclones defeated the MBA Pride Elite 9-1 to win the 2014 WWBA Southeast Qualifier #2.  Hunter Oliver (2016, Cleveland HS, TN) helped lead the Cyclones' offense going 1-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI.  Nick Gaddis (2015, Dade County HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Corbin Brooksbank (2017, McCallie School HS, GA) added in a 3-4 day with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Another player having a big offensive day was Cade Evans (2017, Boyd Buchanan HS, TN) who went 2-3 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk. 

Cruz Bautista (2017, McCallie School HS, TN) earned the win for the Cyclones tossing 6 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 8 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Bautista featured a 67-74 mph fastball and mixed in a 62-65 mph curveball. 

Leadoff man, and Florida State commit, Alec Sanchez (2018, Providence HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 run scored and Chase Sanguinetti (2018, Jesuit HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 RBI. 

Jett leads Mission to Team Elite

The Mission Team Baseball defeated Team Elite 17's Louisville Slugger 5-1 in their consolation game.  Austin Jett (2017, Hebron Christian Academy HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Mission going 5 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  On the mound Jett featured a 71-78 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-68 mph curveball.  He also impressed at the plate going 1-3 with 1 double.

As for the rest of the Mission offense, Connor Sims (2016, Archer HS, GA) led the way going 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI  Jonathan Barnett (2015, Archer HS, GA) also showed well going 2-4 and Crews Taylor (2017, Archer HS, GA) scored 1 run, stole 2 bases and worked 2 walks. 

For Team Elite, Jacob Bristol (2016, Hillgrove HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 double and Max Wadsworth (2016, Morgan County HS, GA) used an aggressive approach and good bat speed to go 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Zachary Cable (2016, River Ridge HS, GA) added in a 2-3 day with 1 RBI.

Team Elite 17's Prime defeated the BigSitx Gamers 18U 11-1 in their consolation game.  Griffin Jolliff (2016, Buford HS, GA) helped power Team Elite going 1-3 with a solo home run.  Leadoff man, Austin Wilhite (2016, Buford HS, GA), a Georgia Tech commit, went 2-4 with two singles, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Another Georgia Tech commit, Nick Wilhite (2016, Buford HS, GA), also showed well going 1-3 with a triple, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.  William Holland (2016, Collins Hill HS, GA) added in a 2-3 day with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. 

Will Ethridge (2016, Parkview HS, GA) started and earned the win for Team Elite rossing 3 1/3 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Ethridge showed good command and a solid, loose arm action with his 81-8485 mph fastball that showed riding life.  He also threw a 73-77 mph slider that flashed potential and a good upper 70's mph changeup.

For the Gamers, Middle Tennessee State commit, Anthony AJ Spencer (2015, Union Grove HS, GA), went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

The East Cobb Astros and the HP Chili Dogs end in a 4-4 tie, after going back-and-forth throughout the whole game.

Brandon Puckett (2016, Lassiter HS, GA) led the way for the Astros, going a perfect 3-3 at the plate, with a triple, two singles, one run and one RBI in the game.  Hunter Sowell (2015, Eagle's Landing Christian Acad, GA) went a perfect 2-2 at the plate, with two singles, and one RBI.  Daniel Seres (2016, Sequoyah HS, GA) and Jonathan McKinney (2015, Lassiter HS, GA) each contributed with a double a piece in the game.  Seres finished 1-3 at the plate, with run scored, and McKinney went 1-3 with a run scored as well in the contest.

For the Chili Dogs, Carter Perkins (2015, Ola HS, GA) went 2-3 at the plate, with two singles and one RBI.  Nick DiPonzio (2016, Tattnall Square Academy, GA) contributed with a triple, and finished 1-2 with a run scored and one RBI.  Cornelius Randolph (2015, Griffin HS, GA) a Clemson commit, also finished 1-2 in the contest, with a double and one run scored.

East Cobb Baseball (Astros) cruised to the easy win, defeating The Nelson Baseball School 17U, 7-1.  Early run production by the Astros helped them cruise on to the easy victory.

Leadoff hitter Reggie Pruitt (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA) a Vanderbilt commit, led the way or the Astros, going 2-4 at the plate, with a triple, single, two runs scored and one RBI.  Payton Young (2016, Piedmont HS, AL) went 2-3 in the game, with a double, and three RBIs.  Jacob Freeland (2015, Mill Creek HS, GA) also finished with a double, and went 2-4 at the plate, with a single, one run scored and one RBI as well.  John Devine (2016, Hillgrove HS, GA) went 2-3 with two singles and two runs scored, and Brock Anderson (2016, Sparkman HS, AL) also contributed with a double in the game.

Zach Goodman (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA) a Clemson commit, pitched four complete innings of work, giving up one earned run on just two hits, and struck out six.  He had a good fastball that averaged 86-88/89 mph, and mixed in a few curveballs and a changeup for his off-speed pitches.

For Nelson, Ryan Barday (2016, North Paulding HS, GA) provided a little spark, going 2-3 at the plate, with a double and a single in the game.


Chain Baseball Snyder cruise to blowout

Chain Baseball Snyder cruised to the blowout victory, defeating the BigStix Gamers 18U, 13-3, in five innings of play.

Cowart led the way for Chain Baseball, going  2-3 at the plate, with two doubles, two runs scored, and one RBI.  Garner also went 2-3 in the game, with a double, single, one run and one RBI.  Cartee and Halcomb each contributed with a double a piece in the contest as well.  Cartee finished 1-2 with a run scored and one RBI, and Halcomb went 103, with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Hyman pitched a complete game for Chain Baseball, giving up one earned run one three hits, and struck out three.  He had a fastball that peaked at 81 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs for his off-speed pitch.

For the Gamers, Hayden Stanley (2017, Eagle's Landing HS, GA) went 1-2 with a single, one run and two RBIs, and Austin Crisp (2016, Union Grove HS, GA) finished with a double, and went 1-2 with a run scored as well in the game.


Winters leads OTC to W

OTC Baseball 17U defeated Chain Baseball Wood 5-2 in their consolation game.  Kyle Winters (2017, Locust Grove HS, GA) led the way for OTC's offense going 1-1 with 1 triple and 1 run scored.  Winters also started and won the game for OTC going 1 2/3 innings of relief allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3 batters.  On the mound he featured a 78 mph fastball and mixed in a 67-70 mph curveball. 

Kevin Norton (2016, Union Grove HS, GA) started the game for OTC going 4 innings allowing 2 unearned runs on 2 hits and 5 walks, while striking out 4.  Norton featured a 76-80 mph fastball and effectively worked in a 66-69/70 mph curveball. 

For the rest of the OTC offense, Zachary Skeen (2016, Luella HS, GA) added in a 1-3 day with 1 run scored and Gavin Black (2016, Locust Grove HS, GA) went 1-3. 

For Chain Baseball Wood, Hughes went 1-3 with 1 double and Taylor Clemmons went 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 walk.

The East Cobb Patriots 18U defeated the Astros TECB in convincing fashion, 7-2.

Taylor Head (2016, Etowah HS, GA) led the way for the Patriots, going 2-3 with two doubles, and finished with two runs scored in the game.  Patrick Lewis (2016, Georgia military College Prep, GA) contributed with a double as well, and finished 1-3 with a run scored and one RBI as well.  Brigham Bailey (2016, Sequoyah HS, GA) finished 1-1 with a single, one run and two RBIs in the contest.

On the mound, Justin Lavender (2017, Lassiter HS, GA) pitched four complete innings of work, giving up one earned run on five hits and struck out three.

For the Astros, Taylor Buice (2016, Lassiter HS, GA) provided some spark for the offense, going 1-2 with a triple, and two runs scored.  Nola Tressler (2017, Woodstock HS, GA) contributed with a double, and finished 1-2 with an RBI as well.  Jamaal Combest (2017, South Cobb HS, GA) and Joseph Cuomo (2017, Excel Christian Academy, GA) each finished 1-2 with a single a piece on the day.

Fat Cat Baseball defeated the Cartersville Rockies 5-1 in their consolation game.  Erickie Godfrey (2016, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate HS, GA) led the way for the Fat Cat offense going 2-3 with 1 double and 3 RBI.  Taylor Bauman (2016, Forsyth Central HS, GA) added in a 2-3 day with 2 runs scored and Hunter Bauman (2016, Forsyth Central HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored. 

Michael Chiavelli (2015, Creekview HS, GA) started and earned the win for Fat Cat tossing 4 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 5 walks, while striking out 5 batters.  Chiavelli showed a smooth delivery and was around the plate with his 78-81/82 mph fastball, his 66-71 mph curveball and a mid 70's changeup.

For the Rockies, Amos Willingham (2016, Chattooga HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and Jacob Fowler (2017, Cartersville HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.

Thanks to early run production, the SC Shockwave 17U went on to defeat the OTC Baseball 18U, 6-4.

Carter Fox (2016 ,Waccamaw HS, SC) went 1-3 with a single, one run scored and one RBI.  Leadoff hitter Austin Briggs (2015, Socastee HS, SC) went 1-1 with a single, one run and one RBI as well in the game.  Justin Farria (2016, Socastee HS, SC) also went 1-3, with a single, one run and one RBI to contribute to the offensive production.  Reid Hardwick (2016, Conway HS, SC) finished with a double and one run scored in the contest.

For OTC, Tripp Bridges (2016, Griffin HS, GA) sparked the offense, going 2-2 with two singles and one run scored.  Kolton Ingram (2015, Luella HS, GA) finished 2-3 with two singles, and William Pillsbury (2016, Spalding HS, GA) went 1-3 with a single and one run scored.

Thanks to strong pitching by Tyler Myrick (2016, Columbia HS, FL), MBA Pride Elite grabbed the shutout victory over Team Elite 18's Louisville Slugger, 8-0.

Myrick pitched a complete game no-hitter, going five strong innings and struck out two, while only allowing two walks as well.  He showed a good presence on the mound and was able to hide the ball well throughout his delivery and throw strikes.  He had a fastball that averaged 85-87/89 mph, and mixed in a good screwball, and changeup for his off-speed pitches.

At the plate for MBA, Tucker Bradley (2016, Gordon Lee HS, GA) a Auburn commit, led the way, going 2-2 at the plate, with two singles, two runs scored and one RBI.  Terrell McCall (2015, Stephenson HS, GA) finished 1-2 with a single, one run scored, and two RBIs.  Logan Allen (2017, University HS, FL) went 1-1 at the plate, with a single and two RBIs in the contest.

The Chattanooga Cyclones cruised to the easy victory defeating the TGBA Blue Borcherding, 9-4, thanks to a big five-run sixth inning, to pull away and cruised to victory.

Hunter Mercer (2015, Baylor HS, TN) led the way, going 1-2 at the plate, with a homerun, two runs scored, and two RBIs in the game.  Noah Hill (2016, Heritage HS, TN) contributed with a double, and finished 1-1 with two runs scored and two RBIs.  Cade Evans (2017, Boyd Buchanan HS, TN) and Corey Edgemon (2015, McMinn HS, TN) each went 2-4 in the contest.  Evans finished with two singles, one run and one RBI, and Edgemon had two runs scored on the day.

For TGBA, Parker Scruggs (2016, Lambert HS, GA) finished 1-3 with a double, and two RBIs in the game.  Cole McNamee (2017, Blessed Trinity Cath, GA) went 1-3 with a double as well and one RBI, and Matthew Heard (2015, North Forsyth HS, GA) went 1-2 with a single and one run scored.

The MBA Pride Elite defeated the Georgia Jackets 17U 4-1 to advance to the Championship Game.  Mervyl "MJ" Melendez (2017, St James HS, AL) led the way for MBA going 1-3 with 1 triple, Donnie Gleneski (2016, Bishop Kenny HS, FL) showed good bat speed and a live bat as he went 1-2 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 walk.  Florida State commit, Alec Sanchez (2018, Providence HS, FL), added in a 1-4 day with 1 double and 1 RBI.  Joe Ciccarello (2017, Alonso HS, FL) also showed well with raw power and loose, strong writs going 1-3 with 1 double. 

Chase Sanguinetti (2018, Jesuit HS, FL) started and won the game for MBA going 7 strong innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3 batters.  Sanguinetti used a craft lefty mentality on the mound using a 76-79/80 mph fastball and mixing in a good, sinking 65-69 mph changeup. 

For the Jackets, Randy Shelton (2016, Sequoyah HS, GA) went 1-2 with 1 RBI and Dawson Pfost (2017, Sequoyah HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.

Next Level Baseball 17U edged by the Lake Murray Titans, 8-7, thanks to some late offensive production that led to the victory.

Paul Cunningham (2016, Leon HS, FL) led the way for Next Level, going 2-3 with a double, triple, two runs scored, and three RBIs in the game.  Gabe Bowling (2016, Niceville Senior HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single, one run scored, and one RBI.  David Arnold (2016, Lincoln HS, FL) contributed with a double, and one RBI.

For the Titans, William Gardiner (2017, Northwestern HS, SC) sparked the offense, going 2-4 with two singles, and two RBIs.  Andrew Hanson (2017, River Bluff HS, SC) also went 2-4 with two singles as well, and had one run scored.  Kolby Leitner (2017, River Bluff HS, SC) and Cameron Cribb (2017, River Bluff HS, SC) each finished 1-4 at the plate, with a single and one run scored a piece.

Next Level Baseball 18U cruised to the blowout victory, defeating the Tennessee Twisters 17-2, in five complete innings of play.

Leadoff hitter Denilson Elligson (2016, Graceville HS, FL) led the way for Next Level, going a perfect 4-4 at the plate, with a homerun, two doubles, a single, three runs scored and three RBIs in the game.  Blake Reese (2015, Lincoln HS, FL) a Florida commit, and Andrew Williamson (2015, Trinity Christian Academy, FL) each contributed by going 2-4 at the plate with a homerun a piece.  Reese also had a single, two runs and two RBIs, and Williamson had a single, one run and one RBI as well.  Landon Seymour (2015, North Florida Christian, FL) finished 2-3 with a double, single, two runs scored and one RBI.  Parker Stephens (2015, Suwannee HS, FL) contributed with a double and Ryan Nelson () had a triple in the contest.

On the mound, Thomas Benson (2015, St. Joseph HS, MS) pitched 3.2 innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits, and struck out four.  He had a fastball that averaged 79-82/84 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs for his off-speed pitch.

Team Elite 18's Louisville Slugger defeated the East Cobb Astros 16U 2-0 in the first round of the playoffs.  William Crowe (2015, Marietta HS, GA) started and earned the win for Team Elite going 5 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while recording 4 strikeouts.  Crowe featured a 77-81/83 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-75 mph slider and a 72-75 mph changeup.  He also impressed at the plate going 1-2 with 1 double, 2 RBI with 1 walk. 

For the Astros, Chaz Wittingham (2016, Arabia Mountain HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 double and Davis Schwartz (2016, Grady HS, GA) went 1-1 with 1 stolen base.

TGBA Blue Borcherding defeated the Dawg Pound  to advance past the first round of the playoffs.  Northwestern commit, Jack Dunn (2015, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA), helped lead the TGBA offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Richmond commit, Brant Strait (2015, South Forsyth HS, GA), also showed well going 1-1 with 1 triple, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 2 walks.  Cole McNamee (2017, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA), showed a power approach and gap power going 2-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Also having a big offensive day was Brady Ballstadt (2015, Lambert HS, GA) who went 2-3 with 2 RBI.   

Kennesaw State commit, Taylor Wilkes (2016, Jefferson HS, GA), started and earned the win for TGBA going 5 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 6 batters.  Wilkes competed on the mound and threw strikes with his 83-89 mph fastball and mixed in a 74-79 mph slider and a 78-82 mph changeup. 

For the Dawg Pound, Devin Lopez (2016, Florida Virtual HS, FL) and Mykel Gordon (2015, Avon Park HS, FL) each went 1-3 at the plate.

The Georgia Jackets 17U defeated the Showtime Crusaders in their Quarterfinal matchup to advance.  Spencer Pfost (2015, Sequoyah HS, GA) earned the win for the Jackets tossing 4 shutout innings allowing 1 hit and no walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Pfost used a short arm action on the mound and featured a 75-78/80 mph fastball. 

Jackets' leadoff man, Jonathan Meuse (2015, Woodstock HS, GA), went 1-3 with 1 stolen base.  Will Herman (2015, St Puis X Catholic HS, GA) and Alex Watanabe (2015, Centennial HS, GA) each added singles as well. 

For the Crusaders, Tyler Kirkland (2016, Siegel HS, TN) went 1-3 with 1 triple. 

C King took the tough-luck-loss for the Crusaders going all 6 innings allowing 2 unearned runs 3 hits, while striking out 1 batter.  King used a short arm action and a balanced delivery with his 83-85/86 mph fastball that got good life.  He also mixed in a 64-68 mph curveball while on the mound.

The North Florida Prospects defeated 5-Tool Baseball 17u 10-2 in their consolation game.  Logan Gildea (2015, Rutherford HS, FL) led the way for the Prospects' offense going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Leadoff man, Tanner Buharp (2016, Niceville Senior HS, FL), added in a 2-2 day with 1 RBI and Ethan Hess (2017, J.R. Arnold HS, FL) went 1-1 with 1 double and 1 run scored. 

For 5-tool, Daniel Crumpler (2018, Bremen HS, GA) scored 1 run, stole 1 base and earned 1 walk.

The North Alabama Vipers defeated SEB 17U 9-1 in their consolation game.  Jared Howell (2017, Sparkman HS, AL) led the way for the Vipers going 3-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI.  Jordan Anderson (2017, James Clemens HS, AL) went 2-4 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Kolby Robinson (2016, Cullman HS, AL) added in a 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 3 stolen bases day at the plate.  Also having a big day at the plate was Lucas Mordecai (2016, Madison Academy HS, AL) who went 2-3 with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.

The Mountain Expos Black defeated Team Alabama 6-0 in their consolation game.  Justin Sparks (2015, Hendersonville HS, NC) led the way for the Expos' offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Jackson Propst (2015, Gaffney HS, SC) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  Logan Craig (2015, A C Reynolds HS, NC) and Camron Farley (2015, Gaffney HS, SC) each scored 1 run and had 1 RBI. 

Jon Merrill (2015, A C Reynolds HS, NC) started and eared the win for the Expos going 5 shutout innings allowing just 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Merrill stayed tall on the backside and used an online delivery with his 77-80/81 mph fastball and mixed in a 69-72 mph slider and a 65-72 mph curveball.

Keyed by a four-RBI effort from Will Long (2015, Canton, GA), Nelson Baseball School 18u (2-2) beat Lenny Websters' CATCH42 Baseball (2-1) Saturday night. Long doubled twice, joining teammates Anthony Casella (2015, Acworth, GA) and Ryley Gilliam (2015, Kennesaw, GA) with two hits each. Casella also walked and scored three times, while Gilliam walked, drove in two and scored twice.

RHP AJ Hayes (2015, Canton, GA) struck out five in 4.0 innings for Nelson, firing strikes at 77-81 mph.

Alec Kliphouse (2016, South Forsyth HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Braves tossing 2 shutout innings allowing just 3 hits, while striking out 1.  Kliphouse featured a 73-77 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-66 mph curveball.

Team Elite soars to 8-0 win

Capped by a five-run 7th inning, Team Elite 17's Prime (2-1) sealed an 8-0 win over WBA 18s (1-2) on Saturday night. 

Austin Biggar (2016, Lilburn, GA) and Mason McWhorter (2016, Cumming, GA) each recorded multi-hit games for Team Elite. Biggar collected three RBI and scored a run, while McWhorter hit a double and drove in a pair. Nick Wilhite (2016, Buford, GA) walked twice, scored two runs and stolen two bases.

LHP Justin Glover (2016, Buford, GA) struck out seven in 4.0 shutout innings, throwing 36 of 51 pitches for strikes (71 percent). Glover worked in the 82-86 mph range while showing a low-70s curve.

RHP Garrett Whitlock (2015, Snellville, GA) struck out nine in 5.0 innings for WBA, working in the 84-87 mph range.

The MBA Pride Elite defeated Team DeMarini GA 17U McCarthy 7-2 to advance past the first round of the playoffs.  Brendan Fox (2017,  A. Crawford Mosley HS, FL) led the way for the Pride offense going 1-3 with 1 triple and 2 RBI.  Tyler Myrick (2016, Columbia HS, FL), an Alabama State commit, also showed well going 1-2 with 1 triple and Auburn commit, Tucker Bradley (2016, Gordon Lee HS, GA), went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Alabama State commit, Mervyl "MJ" Melendez (2017, St James HS, AL), added in a 1-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored, 1 RBI with 1 walk.

Logan Allen (2017, University HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Pride going 7 innings allowing 2 runs, but only 1 earned, on 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 7 batters.  Allen used a long, loose arm action and showed good command of his 78-81/83 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-67 mph slider and a 71-73 mph changeup. 

For Team DeMarini, Steven Curry (2016, Milton HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored. 

HP Chili Dogs throw combined no-hitter

HP Chili Dogs (2-1) scored in all six innings to beat Nelson Baseball School 17u (1-2) 8-0 on Saturday night. Blake Helton (2015, Newnan, GA) led all players with three hits, including a double. He also drove in two, and scored a run. 

CJ Ballard (2015, Williamson, GA), Tristin English (2015, Williamson, GA) and Caleb McElwaney (2015, Newnan, GA) all drove in a run for HP Chili Dogs. Ballard also stole two bases. 

LHP Adam Goodman (2015, Fayetteville, GA), Jeremiah Woods (2015, Fayetteville, GA) and English combined to throw a 6.0-inning no hitter for the Chili Dogs. The left-handed Goodman stuck out seven in 3.0 innings, working in the 78-83 mph with run and sink. Woods threw 79-85 mph with a high-60s curve. English lit up the radar gun, throwing 11 pitches in the 89-91 mph range while also showing a plus slider in the low-80s. He struck out all three batters he faced. 


Combined no-hitter helps Yankees advance

The East Cobb Yankees defeated the Carolina Prospects 3-0 to advance past the first round of the playoffs.  Georgia commit, Shane Tucker (2015, Union Grove HS, GA), started and earned the win for the Yankees going 4 no-hit innings allowing just 1 walk, while recording 6 strikeouts.  Tucker used a solid, quick arm action on the mound and featured a 87-90/91 mph fastball that had good life, as well as a 77-81 mph slider. 

Evans led the way for the Yankees going 1-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Selfe also showed well scoring 1 run, with 1 RBI and earning 1 walk.  Jacobsen added in a 1-2 day with 1 run scored. 

For the Prospects, Patrick Finkelstein (2015, James Island Charter HS, SC) took the tough-luck-loss going 4 innings allowing 1 unearned run on no hits and 2 walks, while recording 3 strikeouts.  Finkelstein was around the plate with all of his pitches and used a craft lefty approach on the mound.  He featured a 77-81/82 mph fastball and mixed in a 66-70 mph curveball and a 67-71 mph slider. 

Crusaders advance past Rockies

The Showtime Crusaders defeated the Doubleday Rockies 11-2 in the first round of the playoffs to advance.  Devin Crudele (2016, Franklin Road Academy HS, TN) led the way for the Crusaders' offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Leadoff man, Tyler Kirkland (2016, Siegel HS, TN), helped spark the offense going 2-4 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Peyton Warren (2016, Franklin Road Academy HS, TN) also showed well going 3-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Dalton Ney (2016, Franklin Road Academy HS, TN) added in a 1-4 day with 1 double and 2 RBI. 

Grant Phillips (2016, Ezell Harding Christian HS, TN) started and earned the win for the Crusaders tossing 6 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Phillips pitched downhill and got good armside life out of his 79-84/85 mph fastball.  He also mixed in a 64-70 mph changeup that had good sink.

For the Rockies, LSU commit, Brody Wofford (2015, Model HS, GA), used a short, compact swing and a live bat as he went 1-2 with 1 double and 1 RBI.

Keyed by a four-run 3rd inning, Lenny Websters' CATCH42 Baseball (2-1) beat Team Elite 17's Louisville Slugger (1-1-1) 7-6 Saturday night. 

Trenton Nash (2015, Decatur, GA) and Curtis Jamerson (2016, Decatur, GA) recorded two hits each for CATCH42. Nash also drove home a pair, while Jamerson displayed an aggressive approach at the plate. Nash also pitched, recording the final out of the game to secure the victory. He threw eight pitches, all in the 84-89 mph range.

Zachary Cable (2016, Roswell, GA) went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a stolen base and a run scored for Team Elite. He showed gap power and good bat speed. Teammate Jacob Britt (2016, Snellville, GA) added two hits and two RBI. 

RHP Jack Utley (2016, Lawrenceville, GA) struck out two in 2.1 innings of relief for Team Elite. The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder fired strikes in the 81-84 mph range while mixing in a few low-70s benders.


MBA Pride Elite improves to 4-0

MBA Pride Elite downed WBA 18s 4-0 Saturday night to improve to 4-0 this weekend. Chase Sanguinetti (2018, Tampa, FL) led MBA with his 2-for-3 effort, including two runs scored. His bat displayed good power potential, as he drove the ball with regular contact.

SS/RHP Brendan Fox (2017, Lynn Haven, FL) struck out three in 3.0 scoreless innings for MBA. He threw strikes, firing his quick arm with a smooth delivery to pound the glove at 78-80 mph. Fox also flashed an upper-60s curve with good depth and 1/7 break.

RHP Donnie Gleneski (2016, Bishop Kenny, FL) fanned seven batters in 3.2 scoreless innings of relief. Featuring a long, solid arm action, Gleneski worked in the 78-81 mph range with armside run and riding life. He also dropped in a few mid-60s curves.

Tyler Shields (2015, Canton, GA) led the Astros with a  triple and a home run while finishing with two RBIs and a run. Brandon Puckett (2016, Roswell, GA) roped a three RBI triple with a run. Jonathan McKinney (2015, Marietta, GA) smoked a RBI single and later scored.

Trevor Hillhouse (2016, Canton, GA) went five innings with two earned runs with eight hits. He walked three and struck out five on his 85 mph fastball. He throws strikes while maintaining a loose arm action with sounds mechanics. Rodney Randers, Jr. (2016, Fayetteville, GA) finished the game with two innings of work. He did not allow a run with two hits. He ran the gun up to 80 mph.

RHP Brady Greene (2017, Montgomery, AL) allowed one hit and struck out eight in 5.0 innings for MBA Pride Elite (3-0) in their 9-0 win over the East Cobb Patriots 18u (0-3) Saturday morning on Field 3 at the East Cobb Complex. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Greene fired strikes in the 76-82 mph range, peaking at 84. He also mixed in an upper-60s curve with late break.

On offense, Logan Allen (2017, Deltona, FL), Tucker Bradley (2016, Chickamauga, GA) and Alec Sanchez (2018, Jacksonville, FL) all recorded extra-base hits for MBA Pride Elite, while Allen also drove in a pair of runs.

Team Elite 18's Louisville Slugger (2-1) out-slugged Next Level Baseball 18u (1-2) by the score of 10-1 Saturday morning on Field 2 at the East Cobb Complex. 

Kent Baldy (2016, Buford, GA) hit a two-run homer and drove in another run on a bases-loaded walk for Team Elite. Teammate Zach Teem (2015, Acworth, GA) went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Teem displayed a balanced swing at the plate with the ability to hit to all fields.

Key offensive contributors for Team Elite also included Kyle Shumeyko (2015, Suwannee, GA) who went 1-for-1 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored, and Mitch McCain (2015, Lawrenceville, GA), who went 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored.

TGBA Blue Borcherding defeating Next Level Baseball 16U, 7-3, thanks to a three-run first inning, and another three-run sixth inning, to provide for the majority of the run support.

Cole McNamee (2017, Blessed Trinity Cath, GA) led the way, going 2-3 with a double, single, two runs scored, and one RBI in the contest.  Matthew Heard (205, North Forsyth HS, GA) went 1-3 with a homerun, one run scored, and two RBIs, and Corey Campbell (2016, North Forsyth HS, GA) also finished with a homerun and went 1-2 at the plate with a run and two RBIs.  Brant Stark (2015, North Forsyth HS, GA) contributed with a double, and finished 1-3 in the contest.

On the mound, Jordan Pickerill (2015, Creekview HS, GA) went three innings of work, giving up no runs, no hits, and struck out six.  He had a fastball that averaged 82-84/85 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs as well for his off-speed pitch.

The Upstate Mavericks defeated OTC Baseball 17U, 6-2, thanks to some early run production that proved to be the difference in the end.

Benjamin Peden (2015, Greenville HS, SC) led the way, going 1-3 with a homerun, one run scored, and three RBIs.  Kip Brandenburg contributed with a double, and finished 1-2 at the plate, with two runs scored as well.  Matthew Mulkey (2015, Emerald HS, SC) a Winthrop commit, went 1-3 in the game, with a single and one run, and Firmstone contributed with a double of his own.

Caleb Whitenton (2015, Gainesville HS, GA) a South Carolina commit, pitched three innings of work, giving up no runs, one hit, and struck out eight.  He had a fastball that averaged 85-87/88 mph, and mixed in a curveball for his off-speed pitch.

On the mound, Avery Ragsdale (2017, Hiram HS, GA) pitched a complete game, giving up two earned runs on eight hits.  He had a fastball that peaked at 78 mph, and mixed in a few curveballs for his off-speed pitch.

Pitching dominated as the Tennessee Twisters (1-1-1) and the Lake Murray Titans (1-1-1) played to a 0-0 tie Saturday morning. 

RHP Cameron McCoy (2016, Fayetville, TN) struck out 10 batters in 7.0 innings (88 pitches/66 strikes) while allowing just four hits. He displayed a good, effortless arm action and a balanced delivery, attacking hitters with his 79-82 mph fastball. McCoy set up opposing hitters well, while relying heavily on a low-70s curve and flashing a low-70s changeup.

His counterpart, RHP Kolby Leitner (2017, Lexington, SC) fanned six in his 7.0 innings (79 pitches/54 strikes), allowing five hits and one walk. He worked in the 77-80 mph range and mixed in an upper-60s curve.

Hayden Bradley (2015, Ooltewah, TN) was the only player to recorded multiple hits, going 2-for-3 for the Twisters. Devin Shull (2017, Lexington, SC) and Tyler Estridge (2017, Columbia, SC) each recorded a double for the Titans.

Bart's HR lifts Yankees to 3-1 win

Joey Bart (2015, Buford, GA) homered and drove in a pair in the East Cobb Yankees' 3-1 win over Next Level Baseball 17u Saturday morning. Teammate Carter Kieboom (2016, Marietta, GA) added two hits of his own as the Yankees improved to 3-0.

RHP Burton Delaney (2015, Rome, GA) fanned four batters in 3.2 innings for East Cobb. The 6-foot, 170-pounder fired strikes at 83-87 mph from his strong, projectable frame. Teammate RHP Logan Moody (2015, LaGrange, GA) struck out three in 3.1 no-hit innings of relief. Moody worked in the 79-85 mph while flashing a mid-70s slider.

RHP Paul Cunningham (2016, Tallahassee, FL) pitched all 6.0 innings for Next Level, throwing 54 of his 85 pitches for strikes. He allowed six hits and struck out five, working in the 77-82 mph range with an upper-60s breaking pitch.

The HP Chili Dogs defeated Next Level Baseball 17U 10-2 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Jake McFarland (2015, Ola HS, GA) helped power the offense going 2-2 with 1 home run, 1 triple, 2 runs scored, 4 RBI with 1 walk.  CJ Ballard (2015, Pike County HS, GA) also showed well going 3-3 with 2 triples, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Cole Jackson (2016, Sandy Creek HS, GA) and Carter Perkins (2015, Ola HS, GA) each went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored, Perkins also collected 1 RBI. 

South Alabama commit, Jordan Schmits (2015, Northgate HS, GA), earned the win for the Chili Dogs going 1 2/3 innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk, while recording 4 strikeouts.  Schmits featured a 84-88 mph fastball on the mound and effectively mixed in a 72-76 mph slider.

Nine different players recorded a hit for Marquis Grissom Baseball (2-1) in their 10-1 win over Cartersville Rookies (0-3) Saturday morning. 

Jacob Carlsen (2016, Lawrenceville, GA) led all players with two hits, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored, while teammate Isaiah Lewis (2015, Atlanta, GA) drove in three runs and Nigel Butler added two RBI of his own.

RHP Antonio Gamble (2016, Jonesboro, GA) struck out two and didn't allow a hit in 2.0 innings for Marquis Grissom Baseball. He displayed good command of his 74-76 mph fastball.

Haga shines in Cyclones win

The Chattanooga Cyclones defeated the BigStix Gamers 18U 3-1 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament.  Logan Haga (2016, Heritage HS, GA) earned the win for the Cyclones going 2 shutout innings allowing just 1 walk, while recording 1 strikeout.  Haga showed a good follow through in his delivery and featured a 76-77/78 mph fastball and mixed in a 64-68 mph curveball.  He also had a nice day at the plate going 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI. 

Hunter Oliver (2016, Cleveland HS, TN) also showed well for the Cyclones' offense as he used a short, compact swing going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Hunter Mercer (2015, Baylor HS, TN) added in a 1-3 day with 1 RBI at the plate. 

For the Gamers, Terrell Frazier (2016, Westlake HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and Adam Durrett went 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 walk.  Middle Tennessee State commit, Anthony AJ Spencer (2015, Union Grove HS, GA), went 2-3 as well for the Gamers. 

Team effort lifts East Cobb Astros to 6-4 win

Keyed by a three-run 2nd inning, East Cobb Astros 17u (2-1) held off BigStix Gamers 18u (1-2) by a 6-4 score Saturday morning on Field 16.

Nick Tumlin (2015, Woodstock, GA) led the Astros with two hits, including a double, and teammate Tyler Shields (2015, Canton, GA) went 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBI. Shields displayed a live bat, driving the ball with regular contact, and showed good speed on the bases.

Kole Adams (2015, Zebulon, GA) and Anthony AJ Spencer (2015, Locust Grove, GA) recorded two hits each for BixStix Gamers. Spencer showed good bat speed and aggressive approach at the plate.

RHP Jonathan McKinney (2015, Marietta, GA) struck out seven in 5.0 innings for East Cobb. He displayed a long, loose arm action, working downhill to fire strikes at 80-85 mph with armside run. McKinney also showed good command of his low-70s curve with good depth, and mixed in a low-70s changeup.

3B/RHP James (Adam) Durrett (2015, Alabaster, AL) fanned three in 1.2 innings of relief for BixStix Gamers. He flashed an easy, short arm action from a 3/4 arm angle, working in the 83-84 mph range. 

Prospects earn win to stay undefeated

The Carolina Prospects defeated Marquis Grissom Baseball 6-3 to improve to 2-0 in the tournament.  Leadoff man, Grover, helped spark the Prospects offense using a short, compact swing to go 2-4 with 1 RBI.  Detyens also showed well going 1-3 with 2 RBI and Bass went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored. 



Wilson Beattie (2016, Summerville HS, SC) started and earned the win for the Prospects tossing 6 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 7 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  Beattie showed good command and used a short arm action as he featured an 81-84/85 mph heavy fastball and mixed in a good 66-70 mph curveball. 



For Marquis Grissom Baseball, Jacob Carlsen (2016, South Gwinnett HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI.  Alabama State commit, Eriq White (2015, South Gwinnett HS, GA), went 1-3 with 1 double and Stephan Cruver (2015, Newman HS, GA) used a short, compact swing to go 2-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

James Civelli (2017, Hebron Christian Academy HS, GA) also showed well for the Mission offense going 1-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI, 2 stolen bases and 1 walk.  Connor Sims (2016, Archer HS, GA) added in a 1-2 day with 1 RBI day at the plate.

RHP Jackson Bell (2016, Dalton, GA) struck out six in his 7.0-inning complete game shutout win, as the Chattanooga Cyclones (3-0) downed Fat Cat Baseball 4-0 Saturday morning on Field 14 at Perfect Game Park South at LakePoint. Bell was extremely efficient, throwing 44 of his 63 pitches for strikes (70 percent) while working in the 77-83 mph range.

Noah Hill (2016, Ringgold, GA) went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a run scored and three RBI for the Cyclones. 

RHP J.B. Finnemore (2016, Gainesville, GA) struck out seven batters in 2.1 innings of relief for Fat Cat Baseball. The 6-foot-3, 156-pounder pounded the strike zone with fastballs in the 82-84 mph range, while also flashing a low-70s curve.

Team Elite 18's Louisville Slugger scored five runs in the 1st inning and then tacked on one more en route to a 6-3 victory over the Georgia Banditos. 

Zach Teem (2015, Kennesaw Mountain, GA) and Mitch McCain (2015, Collins Hill, GA) each recorded two hits in the win for Team Elite.  Both also recorded 1 RBI.  Kyle Shumeyko (2015, North Gwinnett, GA) doubled once and knocked in two runs. 

Cole Austin (2015, Harrison, GA), a West Virginia commit, hit 2-3 with a triple and also scored once. Austin also recorded 2 RBIs in the loss.

Chain Baseball Wood defeated the Rawlings Bulldogs 2-0 for their first win in the tournament.  Jordan started and earned the win for Chain Baseball going 4 1/3 innings allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  While on the mound, Jordan featured a 80-86/87 mph fastball and mixed in a 72-74 mph curveball. 

Taylor Clemmons helped lead the way for the Chain Baseball offense going 2-2 with 1 walk.  Chris Turner also showed well going 1-2 with 1 run scored.  Cody Hilbert and Finch each went 1-3 with 1 RBI at the plate.

Next Level Baseball 18U scored two runs in the second inning and those runs proved to be enough as they got by Mountain Expos Black 2-0.

Bo Seccombe (2016, Lincoln, FL) hit 1-2 with a double and drove in one of the two runs in the win for Next Level.  Seccombe also scored one run.  Landon Seymour (2015, North Florida Christian, FL) also hit 1-2 with 1 RBI. 

On the mound, Jake Lovvorn (2015, Tucker, GA) and Colby Mullins (2015, Blountstown, FL) combined to shut out the Expos. Lovvorn tossed five innings giving up only two hits and striking out six.  Mullins pitched the other two innings and only surrendered one hit while fanning four.

For the OTC offense, Justin Woods (2015, Ola HS, GA) went 2-4 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Russ Springer (2015, Luella HS, GA) also showed well going 2-4 with 1 run scored. 

Bib Bolton (2015, Eagle's Landing HS, GA) started and took a no-decision for OTC tossing all 7 innings allowing 5 runs, 3 earned, on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Bolton featured a 73-76/79 mph fastball while on the mound and mixed in a 61-63 mph curveball. 

Brenton Sanders (2016, Northridge HS, AL) led the way for the Team Alabama offense going 1-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and, 1 stolen base and 2 walks.  Griffin Walker (2016, Homewood HS, AL) added in a 1-3 with 1 RBI day at the plate.

Crusaders hang on for close Victory

The Showtime Crusaders scored three runs in the sixth inning and then held off a final rally from East Cobb Baseball (Astros) to win 3-2 and stay unbeaten in the tournament.

Sam Ertelt (2016, Hume Fogg High Academic Magnet, TN) tossed a complete game effort for the Crusaders.  Ertelt gave up two runs on seven hits and struck out four. The right-hander knew how to throw strikes as he finished with a 71% strike percentage.  On offense, Tyler Kirkland (2016, Siegel, TN) drove in one run.

Brooks Buckler (2015, Norcross, GA) threw a complete game for the opposing Astros.  Buckler struck out six in the close loss.  Reggie Pruitt (2015, Kennesaw Mountain, GA), a Vanderbilt commit, ended the game 2-4 and scored both runs for East Cobb.

Fueled by a four-run 6th inning, the Dawg Pound beat Team Mississippi 2015s 5-0 Friday night. Mykel Gordon (2015, Avon Park, FL) led all players with three hits. Teammate Mahodre West (2015, Tampa, FL) filled the box score with two hits, including a double, two runs scored and an RBI. 

LHP Kyle Cinko (2015, Tampa, FL) tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just one hit while striking out 14 batters. The 6-foot-1, 150-pounder displayed pinpoint command while firing strikes to both sides of the plate at 77-81 mph. Cinko worked from an overtop arm angle and a smooth delivery.

RHP/2B Kaleb Barnes (2015, Pontotoc, MS) fanned six batters in 3.1 innings of relief for Team Mississippi. He showed good command of his fastball at 78-82 mph with armside run, sink and cut, while also flashing a low-70s slider. At the plate, Barnes went 0-for-2 with a walk from the leadoff spot.

Craft struck out 16 of the 24 batters he faced in 7.0 innings, leading Chain Baseball Snyder to an 8-1 win over Team Elite 18's Black Friday night. Craft was around the plate with all his pitches, including his 82-85 mph heater. He also flashed an upper-60 curve and a mid-70s changeup.

Shupe led all players with two hits and two RBI for Chain. He displayed a line drive stroke at the plate, and good speed on the bases. 

RHP Tristen Powell (2015, Toccoa, GA) struck out four in 4.0 innings for Team Elite. He showed solid arm action and an online delivery, firing strikes at 75-78 mph. He also mixed in a low-70s changeup and a low-70s breaking pitch.

Tyler Goddard (2016, Union Grove HS, GA) started and earned the win for OTC pitching 5 shutout innings allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Goddard showed a quick arm and was aggressive with his 72-78/81 mph fastball and used a 63-67 mph curveball as his out pitch.

Beard's walk-off double gives Showtime 2-1 W

Jack Beard (2016, Franklin, TN) hit a walk-off, two-run double for the Showtime Crusaders in their 2-1 win over the North Florida Prospects Friday night. The game-winning hit was Beard's second double of the game. He showed gap power in three at-bats.

RHP Jon Sanderson (2016, Smyrna, TN) tossed a complete game, three-hitter for Showtime, allowing one walk and one unearned run, while striking out eight (73 pitches/55 strikes). He displayed good command of his fastball, working in the 72-74 mph range with cutting action. Sanderson also flashed a mid-60s breaking pitch with good depth. 

RHP Garrett Whittle (2015, Lynn Haven, FL) struck out four in 3.0 innings of relief for North Florida, allowing just one hit. He displayed aggressiveness and good command of his 80-83 mph fastball with armside run, while also mixing in a low-70s curve with 1/7 break. 

Yankees record shut-out victory

The East Cobb Yankees used seven hits to record three runs and defeated Nelson Baseball School 17U 3-0.  The Yankees improved to 3-0 in the tournament.

Tyler Stephenson (2015, Kennesaw Mountain, GA), a Georgia Tech commit, pitched five innings for the Yankees.  Stephenson gave up two hits, walked one, and struck out seven.  The right-hander was around the plate with all pitches, had life on his FB, and threw strikes.  His fastball hit 89mph.

Joey Bart (2015, Buford, GA), also a Georgia Tech commit, and Logan Moody (2015, Lagrange, GA) each recorded two hits in the win.  Bart doubled twice, recorded 1 RBI and scored twice.  He had a balanced swing and displayed power potential with good bat speed. Moody doubled once and also drove in a run.

Boden (N/A) hit 2-4 with 3 RBIs and one run scored for Team Elite.  Johnathan Lee (2016, Loganville, GA) drove in two runs in the win.  William Byelick (2016, Brookwood, GA) and Michael Jang (2016, Woodward Academy, GA) each scored twice.

Carson Holman (2016, Brookwood, GA) and Tyler Hedden (2016, Landmark Christian, GA) combined on the pitching effort for Team Elite.  Holman tossed five innings allowing three hits and striking out one.  He registered the win.  Hedden pitched two innings giving up no hits, no runs, and fanning one as well. 

Alex Veres (2015, Cherokee, GA) tripled once, drove in a run, and scored once as well in the loss for the Braves. 

Rockies win 9-3

The Doubleday Rockies got off to a strong start and finished off Team Alabama 9-3 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament.

Alex Webb (2015, Columbia Central, TN), an Alabama commit, dominated on offense for the Rockies. Webb hit a perfect 3-3 with two doubles, one triple, and four RBIs.  He also scored once. Brody Wofford (2015, Model, GA), a Louisiana State commit, also was perfect at the plate going 2-2. Wofford tripled once, scored twice, and added 2 RBIs.  Michael Haywood (2015, Tyner Academy, TN) knocked in two runs as well. 

Michael Garner (2016, Hillcrest, AL) went 2-3 with a double and one run scored for Team Alabama. Griffin Walker (2016, Homewood, AL) also finished 2-3 with one run scored.  Walker also recorded 1 RBI in the loss. 

TGBA wins high-scoring affair

TGBA Red Byams and Rawlings Bulldogs went back and forth all game, but TGBA held on late for the 8-7 victory.

Luke Hartman (2016, Mt. Brook, AL) and Dillon Lancaster (2016, Buford, GA) each recorded two hits for TGBA.  Hartman drove in one run and scored once while Lancaster doubled once, knocked in a run, and crossed home plate twice.  Ty Snipes (2016, Greenbriar, GA) and Cole Varner (2016, Lambert, GA) provided solid support on offense as each registered 3 RBIs in the win. 

Hunter Davison (2015, Pinson Valley, AL) and Mason Gooch (2015, Gardendale, AL) both finished a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Bulldogs.  Davison scored twice while Gooch recorded 1 RBI and one run scored.  Cooper Heaton (2015, Tuscaloosa Co, AL) doubled once and added 3 RBIs to the stat sheet.

Cartersville Rookies led 2-0 after the opening inning, but Astros TECB scored four unanswered runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to go on and win 4-2.

Team Elite 18's Prime scored runs in four of five innings and defeated Chain Baseball Wood 8-0 after five innings of play.  The shut-out was Team Elite's third of the tournament.

Georgia Jackets 17U win close one

The Georgia Jackets 17U battled SEB 16U all game, but it was the Jackets who pulled out the close victory 1-0.  The Jackets are 3-0 in pool play.

Alexander "Xander" Smith (2015, Centennial, GA) tossed six innings for the Jackets allowing five hits, walking one, and striking out 5 as well. Dalton Martin (2015, River Ridge, GA) relieved Smith for the final inning and got the save.  On offense, it was Johnathan Meuse (2015, Woodstock, GA) who scored the game-winning run.

Parker Coyne (2017, North Gwinnett, GA) pitched all six innings for SEB 16U giving up one run on three hits while fanning five in the loss. 

Dawg Pound rallies, game ends in Tie

Chain Baseball Snyder pulled ahead 4-0 over Dawg Pound mid way through the game, but Dawg Pound fought back and took the lead 5-4.  Chain Baseball Snyder put one more run on the board late and the game ended in a 5-5 tie.

Devin Lopez (2016, Florida Virtual, FL) and Freddy Martinez (2016, Trinity Christian Academy, FL) led the way on offense for the Dawg Pound.  Lopez hit 2-3 with a homerun, 2 RBIs, and two runs scored.  Martinez also homered in the game as he finished 1-3 with 2 RBIs and one run scored.  Edgar Nunez (2016, Brooks Debartolo Collegiate, FL) tallied 1 RBI as well. 

Cowart (N/A) hit 1-2 with a 3-run HR for Chain Baseball Snyder.  Talley (N/A) and Garner (N/A) each recorded 1 RBI.  Talley also scored twice. 

Titans hold off 5-Tool Baseball 17U

The Lake Murray Titans scored one run in four straight innings and then held off a late rally by 5-Tool Baseball 17U to get a 4-3 victory.

Jordan Beatson (2017, Dutch Fork, SC) hit a homerun in the win for Lake Murray. He also crossed home plate twice.  Beatson also pitched the final 2 1/3 innings.  He struck out four and registered a save in the process. William Gardiner (2017, Northwestern, SC) and Ryan Syrbe (2016, A C Flora, SC) each went 2-3 at the plate.  

Carter Huffman (2018, Chapel Hill, GA) ended the game 2-3 with one run scored for 5-Tool Baseball 17U.  Noah Schroyer (2018, Alexander, GA) registered 1 RBI.

A break-out 4th inning effort propels Team DeMarini GA 17U McCarthy to a blow-out win over SC Shockwave 17U.  Team DeMarini put 10 runs on the board in the the 4th inning alone to secure a 12-1 victory. 

Andres Perez (2016, Pinecrest Academy, GA) had the big highlight of the game for Team DeMarini GA by hitting a grand slam in the 4th inning.  Justin Graczyk (2015, South Forsyth, GA) finished a perfect 3-3 with two doubles and two runs scored.  Josh Saavedra (2015, Milton, GA), Jack Tomelevage (2016, Lambert, GA) and Caleb Watson (2016, Collins Hill, GA) all got in on the offensive action as well by each recording two hits.  Saavedra and Tomelevage each registered 2 RBIs while Watson finished with 1 RBI.

Brock Baughcum (2015, Brookwood, GA) went 2-3 with a double and two runs scored for Team Elite. Dylan McGuire (2015, Dacula, GA) and Colby Matthews (2015, Cambridge, GA) each doubled once in the win as well.  McGuire knocked in a run while Matthews finished with 2 RBIs and one run scored.

OTC Baseball 18U scored two runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings to help down the Georgia Baseball Titans 5-3.

Jacob Woods (2017, Ola, GA) pitched a complete game for OTC.  Woods did give up three runs on five hits, but struck out an impressive 10 batters. He also topped out at 83mph on his fastball.  Russ Springer (2015, Luella, GA), Tripp Bridges (2016, Griffin, GA) and Justin Woods (2015, Ola, GA) each finished with 1 RBI in the win.

North Alabama Vipers and Team Elite 17's Louisville Slugger each scored two runs in the 1st inning and neither would score again as the game ended in the 2-2 tie.

Andrew Hammond (2015, Homewood, AL) pitched three innings for the Vipers allowing no hits, no runs, and fanning five.  Hammond effectively pitched inside, competed well on the mound, and displayed a smooth delivery.  He was aggressive with his fastball as it touched 88mph.  Hunter Holcomb (2015, Mt. Brook, AL) and Cullen Smith (2016, Wilson Central, TN) provided the offense for North Alabama.  Holcomb went a perfect 3-3 while Cullen finished 2-3 with 1 RBI.

The East Cobb Astros 16U held off a late surge by the Tennessee Twisters to get a 3-1 win and improve to 3-0 in the tournament.

Cole Ganopulos (2016, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, GA) pitched a complete game effort in the win for the Astros.  Ganopulos gave up seven hits, but only one run and fanned five. The lefty changed speeds and attacked hitters.  His arm worked well as he displayed good command and reached 85mph on his fastball.

Cage Cox (2016, Cairo, GA) ended 2-3 with 1 RBI and one run scored in the win for East Cobb. Xzavion Curry (2016, Mays, GA) doubled once and scored once as well. 

Andy Wright (2015, Soddy Daisy, TN) threw a complete game as well for the Twisters.  Wright struck out three and hit 84mph on his fastball. 

Huge 1st inning helps Jackets to Win

The Georgia Jackets 17U had their offense rolling early as they scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning.  The Jackets went on to win 10-1 over the Upstate Mavericks.

Randy Shelton (2016, Sequoyah, GA) finished the game 2-3 with 1 RBI and one run scored.  Steven Etcher (2015, Dunwoody, GA) provided some solid offense as well by knocking in two runs.  All 10 batters scored one run each in the win for the Jackets. 

Erikson Lanning (2015, Sequoyah, GA), a Texas Tech commit, tossed four innings allowing two hits and no runs for the Georgia Jackets 17U.  The left-hander displayed a smooth, online delivery, and showed life on his fastball. Lanning had good command, competed on the mound, and attacked hitters as he struck out four. His fastball reached 88mph.

Late Scores clinch Win for TGBA

TGBA Blue Borcherding and the East Cobb Braves 17U were all knotted up heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, but TGBA put two runs on the board to take a 3-1 lead.  Those late scores proved to be enough as TGBA advanced to 2-0 in the tournament.

Tucker Maxwell (2016, Lambert, GA) went 2-3 with 1 RBI and one run scored for TGBA.  Maxwell showed a fluid stroke with good bat speed. Cole McNamee (2017, Blessed Trinity Catholic, GA) and Matthew Heard (2015, North Forsyth, GA) each provided an RBI as well. 

Dakota Chalmers (2015, North Forsyth, GA) and Turner Scruggs (2016, Lambert, GA) combined for 12 strikeouts in the win.  Chalmers tossed three innings, gave up two hits, no runs, and showed some projectable stuff.  Dakota, a Georgia commit, had control on both sides of the plate, displayed outstanding arm speed by hitting 93mph on his fastball, and provided an online delivery.  Scruggs gave up four hits, but accounted for 7 Ks.  He was around the plate with all pitches, worked fast, and was credited with the win.

Evan Steele (2015, Marietta HS, GA) a Vanderbilt commit, pitched five complete innings of work, giving up no runs, just one hit, and struck out nine, to carry Team Elite.  He showed especially good command of his 74 mph curveball, and had a fastball that averaged 85-88 mph and topped out at 89 mph.  He also mixed in a handful of changeups to go along with his off-speed pitches.

Hayden Bradley (2015, Ooltewah HS, TN) led the way, going 3-4 with a double, two singles, two runs scored, and two RBIs.  Jacob Dickenson (2016, Lincoln County HS, TN) went a perfect 3-3 at the plate, with two doubles, one single, two runs scored, and two RBIs.  Stewart went 1-1 with a grand slam, two runs scored, and four RBIs.  Seth Bortorelli (2017, Lincoln County HS, TN) contributed with two doubles in the game.

On the mound, Chandler Hardiman (2016, Lincoln County HS, TN) pitched a complete game, giving up three runs on four hits, and struck out 12, in six complete innings of work.  He showed the ability to throw strikes, and had a fastball that averaged 80-82/85 mph, and mixed in a slider for his off-speed pitch.

Georgia Jackets grab shutout victory

The Georgia Jackets 17U grabbed the shutout victory, defeating the OTC Baseball 17U, 8-0.

Dawson Pfost (2017, Sequoyah HS, GA) sparked the Jackets offense, going 3-4 at the plate, with three singles, and one RBI in the contest.  Alec Watanabe (2015, Centennial HS, GA) contributed by going 1-2 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs.  Steven Etcher (2015, Dunwoody HS, GA) also had a double of his own in the game.

On the mound, Andrew Hester (2015, River Ridge HS, GA) pitched a complete game, giving up just three hits throughout, and struck out seven.  he showed good command, with good, online delivery, with a fastball that topped out at 77 mph.  He also mixed in a good curveball and a changeup for his off-speed pitches.

East Cobb Baseball grabbed the shutout victory over Mission Team Baseball, 5-0.

Jalen Miller (2015, Riverwood HS, GA) a Clemson commit, led the way going 1-2 with a homerun, three runs scored, and one RBI in the contest.  Brock Anderson (2016, Sparkman HS, AL) contributed with a double, and finished 1-3 at the plate, with a run and one RBI.  Leadoff hitter, Reggie Pruitt (2015, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA) a Vanderbilt commit, also went 1-3 with a single, and one run scored.

On the mound, Connor Bennett (2015, Buford HS, GA) a WVU commit, pitched five complete innings, giving up no runs, just two hits, and struck out nine in the game.  He had a good mound presence, and showed a good ability to throw strikes and be around the plate with all of his pitches.  He had a fastball that peaked at 90 mph, and mixed in a few curveballs for his off-speed pitch.

For Mission Team Baseball, Jonathan Barnett (2015, Archer HS, GA) went 1-3 with a double in the game.


Carolina Prosepcts defeat Rookies 5-2

The Carolina Prospects defeated the Cartersville Rookies, 5-2.

Grover led the way for the Prospects, going 2-3 with a homerun, single, two runs scored, and one RBI in the contest.  Detyens went 2-3 as well, with two singles and one RBI.  Gabriel went 2-4 at the plate, with two singles and one RBI.



On the mound, Futrell pitched five complete innings of work, giving up two runs on one hit, and struck out four in the game.



For the Rookies, Cole Jameison (2017, Cartersville HS, GA) went 1-1 with a single and one run scored.

Team Elite 17's Louisville Slugger defeated the Nelson Baseball School 18U 3-1 in their first game of the tournament.  Zachary Cable (2016, River Ridge HS, GA) led the way for the Team Elite offense showed excellent bat speed and a short, compact swing as he went 3-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Joe Abraham (2016, Mountain View HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 2 RBI at the plate.  

Patrick Martin (2016, Kennesaw Mountain HS, GA) earned the win for Team Elite going 5 shutout innings allowing 3 hits and 3 walks, while recording 7 strikeouts.  Martin pitched downhill and used an online delivery with his explosive 84-87 mph fastball and mixed in a 69-70 mph curveball.  

For Nelson, Chase Trader (2015, Bremen HS, GA) went 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.

WBA 18s defeated the East Cobb Patriots 18U 3-1 for their first win of the tournament.  Sam Czabala (2015, St Puis X Catholic HS, GA) earned the win for WBA going 5 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8 batters.  Czabala showed good command and an online delivery with his 79-83/84 mph fastball and a 64-69 mph curveball that flashed potential.  

WBA leadoff man, Brad Leathers (2015, Lambert HS, GA), went 1-3 with 2 runs scored to lead their offense.  Tyler Dupree (2015, Johns Creek HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  

For the Patriots, Sylvester Toe Jr. (2016, Landmark Christian HS, GA) used a sound hitting approach and good bat speed to go 2-3 with 1 stolen base and Gates Ely (2016, Altamont HS, AL) went 1-3 with 1 RBI.

Nelson Baseball School 17U defeated Next Level Baseball 17U 7-0 in their first game of the tournament.  Leadoff man, Jake Johnston (2016, Etowah HS, GA), helped spark the offense going 4-4 with 3 runs scored and 1 stolen base.  Thomas Leffew (2016, South Cobb HS, GA) also showed well going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Troy Jones (2016, Mceachern HS, GA) added in a 3-4 with 1 run scored day and Seth Robinson (2015, Bremen HS, GA) went 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  

Carson McGourk (2016, Hillgrove HS, GA) started and won the game for Nelson going 6 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 4 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  McGourk showed a smooth, balanced delivery on the mound and featured a 77-80/82 mph fastball that showed good life, a 65-68 mph late breaking curveball and a deceptive 69-73 mph changeup.

For Next Level Baseball, David Arnold (2016, Lincoln HS, FL) went 1-1 with 1 double and Gabe Bowling (2016, Niceville Senior HS, FL) went 1-1 with 2 walks.

The East Cobb Yankees defeated the HP Chili Dogs 6-5 in their first game of the tournament.  Georgia Tech commit, Jonathan Hughes (2015, Flowery Branch HS, GA), and Logan Moody (2015, Lagrange HS, GA) led the way for the Yankees' offense as Hughes went 1-2 with 2 RBI and Moody went 1-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Kieboom added in a 2-2 day with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Grant Berry (2015, Lassiter HS, GA) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Tulane commit, Tyler Heinrichs (2015, Walton HS, GA), earned the win for the Yankees going 3 strong innings allowing no hits and only 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  Heinrichs showed good command and a quick arm with a 86-90 mph fastball that had armside run and a 77-81 mph changeup.  

For the Chili Dogs, Georgia Southern commit, CJ Ballard (2015, Pike County HS, GA) went 1-4 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI, while Samford commit, Bakari Gayle (2015, Martin Luther King Jr. HS, GA), went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.

The Doubleday Rockies defeated OTC Baseball 18U 9-5 in their first game of the tournament.  LSU commit, Brody Wofford (2015, Model HS, GA), helped power the Rockies' offense going 1-2 with a 3-run home run and 4 RBI total on the day.  Leadoff man, Walker Barrow (2016, Cedartown HS, GA), went 2-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Miles Minge (2016, Cedartown HS, GA) added in a 2-3 day with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  

Quinton Kay (2015, Pepperell HS, GA) earned the win for the Rockies tossing 2 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits while striking out 3 batters.  Kay featured a 68-73/74 mph fastball and mixed in a 57-62 mph curveball.  He also went 1-2 day with 1 double at the plate.  Logan Hilton (2015, Northwest Whitfield HS, GA) impressed out of the bullpen for the Rockies tossing 3 innings allowing 1 run on 1 hit and recording 6 strikeouts with a 66-73/74 mph fastball.

For OTC Baseball, William Pillsbury (2016, Spalding HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Jacob Woods (2017, Ola HS, GA) went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base, while Bib Bolton (2015, Eagle's Landing HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base for their offense.

The Georgia Banditos defeated Next Level Baseball 18U 2-0 in their first game of the tournament.  Austin Godfrey (2015, South Paulding HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Banditos going 6 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 9 batters.  Godfrey showed outstanding arm speed and good command with a 82-85/86 mph explosive fastball, a late breaking 68-71/72 mph curveball, 77-78 mph slider that flashed potential and a 76-78 mph changeup that had armside run.

Will Galloway (2015, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA) went 1-3 with 1 RBI to lead the Banditos' offense.  Leadoff man, Bronco O'Brien (2015, Blessed Trinity Catholic HS, GA) also showed well scoring 1 run, stealing 3 bases and earning 1 walk.

Marquis Grissom Baseball defeated the Astros TECB 8-3 in their first game of the tournament.  Georgia commit, Chad Smith (2015, South Gwinnett HS, GA), led the way for the offense using a confident approach and a live bat to go 2-4 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Eriq White (2015, South Gwinnett HS, GA), an Alabama State commit,  also showed well going 3-4 with 1 double and 3 runs scored.  Demarcus Reid (2016, Drew HS, GA) added in a 3-4 day with 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base, while Evan Skipper (2015, Spaldling HS, GA) went 2-3 with 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  

John Walton (2015, Creekside HS, GA) started and earned the win for Marquis Grissom Baseball going all 7 innings allowing 3 runs, 1 earned, on 6 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 6.  While on the mound, Walton used a 73-76/78 mph fastball and a 57-61 mph curveball.

Colby Tobin (2016, Alpharetta HS, GA) stated and earned the win for TGBA went 4 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit and no walks.  Tobin changed speeds and worked fast throwing a 77-79 mph fastball, a good 67-69 mph curveball and a 72-74 mph changeup.

For the Chain Baseball Wood, Chris Turner went 1-3 with 2 runs scored and Cody Hilbert went 1-3 with 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.

The Chattanooga Cyclones defeated the East Cobb Astros 17U 4-1 in their first game of the tournament.  Nick Gaddis (2015, Dade County HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Cyclones going all 7 innings allowing just 1 run on 7 hits and 2 walks, while recording 7 strikeouts.  Gaddis showed good command and a solid arm action on his 82-86/88 mph fastball and mixed in a late breaking 69-75 mph curveball.  He also showed well at the plate going 1-2 with 1 RBI and 1 walk.  

Hunter Mercer (2015, Baylor HS, TN) led the way for the Cyclones' offense going 2-3 with 2 RBI.  Cade Evans (2017, Boyd Buchanan HS, TN) added in a 2-3 day with 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base
