Florida Burn win Championship

The Florida Burn 2016 Pennant defeated the Elite Squad 16U Prime 8-1 to win the 2014 WWBA Florida Qualifier Championship.  The second ranked prospect in the 2016 class, Austin Bergner (2016, Windermere Prep HS, FL), started and won the game for the Burn tossing 4 strong innings allowing just 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk, while punching out 8 batters.  Bergner showed a solid arm action and attacked hitters with an explosive 89-92/93 mph fastball.  He also mixed in a late breaking 75-78 mph slider and an 82-83 mph deceptive changeup that flashed potential.   Bergner also impressed at the plate going 1-3 with 1 RBI.  

Justin Cohen (2015, Riverview HS, FL) helped power the Burn offense showing a short, compact swing and power potential as he blasted a 2-run home run, he also stole 1 base.  Scott Dubrule (2016, Venice Senior HS, FL) also showed well with a quick bat and a fluid stroke going 2-4 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Florida commit, Nick Long (2016, Sarasota HS, FL), stayed inside the ball well and showed excellent bat speed going 1-3 day with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Parke Phillips (2016, Out-Of-Door Academy HS, FL) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  

For the Elite Squad, Joseph Perez (2017, American Heritage HS, FL) went 1-2 with 1 RBI.  

Rukes lifts Elite Squad to Championship Game

The Elite Squad 16U Prime defeated FTB Max Bats 16U 2-0 to advance to the Championship game.  Alabama commit, Garret Rukes (2016, Pine Crest HS, FL), earned the win for the Elite Squad tossing 3 2/3 IP allowing just 1 hit and no walks, while striking out 4 batters.  On the mound, Rukes featured a 77-80/82 mph fastball and mixed in a 63-65 mph curveball.  

Joseph Perez (2017, American Heritage HS, FL) led the way for the Elite Squad offense going 1-3 with 1 RBI.  Tennessee commit, Brandon Chinea (2016, Florida Christian HS, FL), and Alejandro Toral (2017, Archbishop Edward Mccarthy HS, FL) each added in a 1-3 day with 1 double.  

For FTB, Owen Von Esslinger (2016, Martin County HS, FL) went 1-2.  

Burn advances to Championship

The Florida Burn Pennant defeated the scorpions South Upperclass 8-0 to advance to the championship game.  Florida commit, Nick Long (2016, Sarasota HS, FL), led the way for the Burn offense showing excellent bat speed going 1-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI, 2 stolen bases and 1 walk.  Scott Dubrule (2016, Venice Senior HS, FL) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Austin Bergner (2016, Windermere Prep HS, FL) also impressed going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Nick Blasucci (2015, Riverdale HS, FL) continued the strong offensive day going 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  

Johnnie Schneider (2015, Calvary Christian HS, FL) started and earned the win tossing 4 strong shutout innings allowing just 1 hit, while striking out 6 batters and throwing an impressive 74.5% of his pitches for strikes.  Schneider showed good command and solid, loose arm arm action on the mound and featured an 84-88 mph fastball that had good life.  He also mixed in a 69-70 mph curveball that flashed potential, a late breaking 71-74 mph slider and a deceptive 73-79 mph changeup. 

For the Burn, UCF commit, Matthew Mika (2015, Park Vista Community HS, FL) showed a fluid stroke and a balanced swing as he went 1-2 with 1 double.  

Jackson pitches Elite Squad to W

The Elite Squad 16U Prime defeated the Ostingers Baseball Academy 2015s 2-0 in their quarterfinal game.  Zach Jackson (2017, Haines City Senior HS, FL) earned the win for the Elite Squad tossing 2 1/3 perfect innings on the mound and striking out 2 batters.  Jackson featured an 82-85 mph fastball and effectively mixed in a 67-71 mph curveball.  

For the Elite Squad offense, Alejandro Toral (2017, Archbishop Edward Mccarthy HS, FL) led the way going 1-3 with 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Steven Revilla (2016, West Broward HS, FL) added in a 1-2 day with 1 stolen base.  

Jacob "Jake" Kinney (2015, Lakeland Christian HS, FL) took the tough-luck-loss for the Ostingers going 5 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 9 batters.  Kinney threw an 82-86/87 mph fastball and worked in a 71-73 mph curveball and a 75-76 mph changeup.

The Florida Burn Pennant defeated Next Level Baseball 13-2 to advance past the quarterfinals and into the semifinals.  Florida commit, Nick Long (2016, Sarasota HS, FL), led the Burn offense going 1-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Austin Bergner (2016, Windermere Prep HS, FL) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Jake Sullivan (2016, Durant HS, FL) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 double, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Scott Dubrule (2016, Venice Senior HS, FL) impressed at the plate as well going 1-2 with 2 runs scored, 2 RBI and 1 walk.  

Florida commit, Jordan Butler (2017, Alonso HS, FL), started and earned the win for the Burn tossing 4 strong innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits and no walks, while striking out 5 batters.  Butler featured a low 3/4 arm slot and threw a 82-87/88 mph fastball and mixed in a 69-74 mph curveball and a 72-75 mph changeup.  

For Next Level, Jose Ciccarello went 2-2 with 1 double.  

Sam Allen pitches Max Bats to W

The FTB Max Bats 16U defefated FTB Chandler 16U 4-1 to advance past the quarterfinals.  Sam Allen (2016, St. Cloud HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Max Bats tossing 5 no-hit innings and striking out 3 batters.  Allen featured a 78-82/83 mph fastball while on the mound.  

Rigsby Mosley (2016, Bishop Moore HS, FL) led the way for the Max Bats' offense going 2-3 with 1 triple, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Silas Grinstead (2016, Father Lopez HS, FL) added in a 1-2 day with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 walk.  Also showing well was Owen Von Essllinger (2016, Martin County HS, FL) used a patient approach and gap power to go 1-2 with 1 double.

For Chandler, David Quevedo () collected 1 RBI and earned 1 walk.  


Late Run Gives Palm Beach 3-2 Win

The Palm Beach Travel Baseball got a late run in the bottom of the sixth to push past the Florida Tornadoes and take a 3-2 win. The Palm Beach offense knocked in six hits from five different players with Dakota Jackman (2015, Clewiston HS, Fl) leading the way offensively. Jackman finished with the game's only multi-hit stat line after going 2-3 at the plate with a run scored and a double. 

Johnathan Rodriguez (2016, Lake Worth HS, FL) took home the win for the Palm Beach bullpen after starting out the game on the mound and pitching through the fourth inning. Rodriguez threw 21 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs while walking one and striking out two with a fastball averaging 70 mph and topping out at 73 mph. 

Palmetto Powers to Big Win

The Palmetto Baseball Club used a five-run second inning to grab control of the game and didn't look back as they cruised to a 10-2 win in five innings over the CRFS Baseball after taking advantage of seven fielding errors from the CRFS defense. The Palmetto offense knocked in seven hits from four different players with Danny Urbina (2016, Palmetto HS, FL) providing the offensive spark. Urbina finished a perfect 2-2 at the plate with game-highs in RBIs (2) and runs scored (3) while stealing three bases.

Tyler Henning (2016, Palmetto HS, FL) took home the win for the the Palmetto bullpen after starting out the game on the mound and not being relieved until the game was well in hand. Henning threw 69 pitches in four innings of pitching work and allowed two hits and one unearned run while walking one and striking out four.

Legends Blank Warriors 7-0

The Lakeland Legends of the Batters Box 18U shutout the Jacksonville Warriors Orange 7-0 after jumping out to an early lead with four runs in the second innings. This game marks the third game of this tournament that the Warriors have not been able to score a run. The Legends offense knocked in 11 hits from eight different players with Trevin Pruitt (2016, George W. Jenkins HS, FL) leading the way offensively. Pruitt had a perfect 2-2 game at the plate and picked up a game-high two RBIs and a run scored. 

William Keith (2015, George W. Jenkins HS, FL) took home the win for the Legends bullpen after starting out the game on the mound. Keith threw 52 pitches in four innings of work on the mound and allowed five hits but no runs or walks while striking out two with a late-breaking 12/6 curveball and a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 81 mph. 

Aces Cruise to Shutout Win

The Galaxy Aces jumped out to an early lead with six runs in the second and third innings and iced the game with three runs in the top of the sixth inning to blank the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy Blue 9-0. The Aces offense knocked in seven hits from six different players and was able to take advantage of three Blue fielding errors. Anthony Nichols (2015, Santaluces Community HS, FL) led the Aces offense with a 2-3 game at the plate, picking up an RBI and a run scored with a double.

William Marion (2015, Spanish River Community HS, FL) took home the win for the Aces after tossing three and a third innings from the mound to start out the game. Marion threw 51 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs or walks while striking out five with good command and an online delivery of a three-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

Scorpions Coast Into Quarterfinals

The Scorpions South Upperclass grabbed control of the game early with five runs in the second inning as they coast into the quarterfinals with a 9-2 win over the FTB Mizuno 17U. The Scorpions offense was able to take advantage of three Mizuno fielding errors as it knocked in nine hits from seven different players. Tyler Hawks (2015, River Ridge HS, FL) provided the main spark for the Scorpion offense with a perfect 3-3 game at the plate while picking up two RBIs, crossing the plate twice, knocking one of his hits for a double and logging a stolen base.

Casey Goldenberg (2015, Suncoast Community HS, FL) took home the win for the Scorpions bullpen after starting out the game on the mound and tossing three innings. Goldenberg, a Georgetown commit, threw 52 pitches and allowed two hits and one earned run while walking three and striking out two with a fastball averaging 84 mph and topping out at 87 mph.

With the win the Scorpions South Upperclass (4-0-0) will pit their undefeated record against the fellow undefeated Palm Beach Select (4-0-0). With the loss the FTB Mizuno is eliminated from the tournament and finishes with a record of (3-2-0)

Ostingers Fend Off IMG, Advance

The Ostingers Baseball Academy 2015s had built up a 6-1 lead after a three-run burst in the fourth and a two-run sixth inning, only to have to sweat out a furious rally from the IMG Academy Black before taking a 6-4 win into the quarter-finals. Both teams had sloppy games on the defensive end with four errors apiece. Conrado Skepple (2015, Bloomingdale HS, FL) had a standout game at the plate as he led the Ostingers' offense to nine hits from six different players with a perfect 3-3 game at the plate, picking up two RBIs and two runs scored thanks to both of his hits going for doubles. 

Daylon Owens (2015, Bloomingdale HS, FL) took home the win for the Ostingers' bullpen after tossing six and a third innings before being relieved in the final inning during the Academy rally. Owens threw 87 pitches and allowed six hits and four runs, none earned, while walking two and striking out one with a five-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 83 mph. 

With the win the Ostingers Baseball Academy 2015 (4-0-0) will pit their undefeated record against fellow undefeated Elite Squad 16U Prime (4-0-0). With the loss the IMG Academy Black are eliminated from the tournament, finishing with a record of (3-2-0)

Big Third Inning Gives Terror 7-0 Rout

The Tampa Terror East jumped on the scoreboard in a big way after putting up six runs in the third inning to take control of the game and shutout the Toritos Elite 7-0. The Terror offense knocked in seven hits from six different players with John Yergey (2016, East Lake HS, FL) leading the way on offense. Yergey had a perfect game at the plate, going 1-1 with a game-high three RBIs, one run scored, two walks, a double and a double play on the defensive end. 

Aiden Brady (2015, East Lake HS, FL) took home the win for a Terror bullpen that saw four different players log time on the rubber. Brady threw 31 pitches in one and two-thirds innings on the mound and allowed no hits or runs while walking two and striking out two with a fastball averaging 74 mph and topping out at 79 mph. 

Aces Take Down Pride 3-1

The Brevard Aces committed three fielding errors but made up for it by doubling up the hit count of the FCSL Pride 18U to take a 3-1 win. The Aces offense knocked in six hits from five different plays with Ryan Lang (2015, Merritt Island HS, FL) leading the way offensively. Lang finished with the game's only multi-hit stat line after going 2-2 and scoring a run with a stolen base. 

Nate Beck (2015, Viera HS, FL) took home the win for the Aces after closing out the final three innings from the mound. Beck threw 39 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs while walking one and striking out three with a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 83 mph. 

FTB Sarasota Blank Elite 8-0

FTB Sarasota 16U used a five-run sixth inning to ice a shutout of the South Beach Elite and take an 8-0 win despite committing two turnovers compared to none for the Elite. The Sarasota offense knocked in nine hits from seven different players with Sam Marlatt (2016, Seabreeze HS, FL) and Nico Piatigorski (2016, Cypress Lake HS, FL) providing the offensive spark. Marlatt and Piagtigorski both logged 2-3 games at the plate with Marlatt picking up an RBI and two runs scored as Piagtigorski added in two RBIs, a run scored and a double play on defense. 

Marlatt made his impact in more ways than just the batter's box when he also picked up the win for the FTB bullpen. The Ormand Beach native threw 37 pitches in three innings of work on the mound and allowed no hits or runs while walking one and striking out two, pitching his way out of trouble with a four-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 83 mph. 

Blue Jays Survive Late Bears Rally in Win

The Ontario Blue Jays survived a three run spurt over the fifth and sixth innings from the Bears Baseball before they were able to log a 5-4 win. The Blue Jay offense did most of it's damage in the fourth inning where they scored four runs. Both offenses knocked in four hits from four different players with the Blue Jay's Jacob Jones (2015, Medowvale HS, Ontario) logging the game's only multi-base hit, a double to give him an RBI.

Brady Cappe (2016, Assumption HS, Ontario) took home the win for the Blue Jays after starting out the game on the mound. Cappe threw 67 pitches in four innings of work and allowed two hits and one earned run while walking two and striking out seven with a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

Lyons Lead Vipers to 4-2 Win

The Vipers Baseball Club got a standout game from Liam Lyons (2015, Suncoast Community HS, FL) as he powered both the offense and the defense in a 4-2 win over SBO Florida for their first win of the tournament. Lyons sparked the offense to ten hits from seven different players with a perfect 3-3 game at the plate while picking up an RBI and a run scored thanks to a double and a triple. The West Palm Beach native also spent three innings on the mound, throwing 56 pitches and allowing one hit and one earned run while walking two and striking out five with a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 82 mph.

Jason Aponte (2015, Seminole Ridge Community HS, FL) took home the win for the Vipers after starting out the game on the mound before being relieved by Lyons in the fourth. Aponte threw 50 pitches and allowed three hits and one earned run while walking two and striking out four with a fastball averaging 79 mph and topping out at 83 mph. 

Ostingers Blank Elite Underclass 9-0

The Ostingers Baseball Academy 17U got on the board in a big way with a five-run burst in the third inning and iced the game with a four-run sixth inning to take a 9-0 shutout win over the Team Elite Underclass of PR. The Ostingers offense knocked in seven hits from six different players with Alex Kachler (2016, Strawberry Crest HS, FL) leading the way. Kachler logged the game's only multi-hit stat line after finishing 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored to go along with a double play on defense as Cody Wilson (2017, Bloomington HS, FL) and Cody Shook (2017, Newsome HS, FL) both added in two RBIs of their own. 

Justin Gross (2017, Bloomington HS, FL) took home the win for the Ostingers bullpen that saw four different pitchers log time on the mound. Gross threw 30 pitches in three innings on the mound to close out the game and allowed no hits, runs, or walks while striking out three and logging a strike on 73 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 76 mph and topping out at 78 mph. 

Naturals, Sluggers Tie 4-4

The Gainesville Naturals 18U and the Elite Squad Sluggers couldn't decide a winner in six innings as they take a 4-4 tie in the record books. The Sluggers built a 4-0 lead going into the final inning after putting up two runs in both the third and the fifth innings before the Naturals came roaring back with four runs in the top of the sixth. Both team's offenses knocked in six hits from five different players, but it was the Sluggers who fielded the best individual at the plate. Griffin Connie (2015, Pine Crest HS, FL), a Duke commit, powered his way to a 2-3 game in the batter's box and knocked in all four of his team's runs with a double. 

Legends, Rawlings Battle to 5-5 Tie

In a back-and-forth contest that saw four lead changes and ties, the Florida Legends and the FTB Rawlings 17U battled to a 5-5 tie after seven innings couldn't decide a winner. Both teams scored a run apiece in the first innings with the Legends putting up two runs in the second to take a 3-1 lead. Rawlings answered back with four unanswered runs over the fourth and fifth before the Legends tied it back up with two in the sixth. 

Brandon Nayor (2015, Westwood Christian Day HS, FL) led the Legends offense to nine hits from eight different players after logging his team's only multi-hit stat line. Neyer finished 2-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored with Eduardo Arteaga (2017, Miami Killian Senior HS, FL) adding in a team-high two RBIs of his own. Jason Heinrich (2015, River Ridge HS, FL) powered the Rawlings offense to eight hits from six different players with a standout day at the plate. Heinrich, a UCF commit, finished 3-4 with two RBIs, a stolen base and two runs scored after all three of his hits went for doubles. 

Seven-Run Fourth Propels Nationals to Win

The Broward Nationals jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the bottom of the first and iced the game with a seven-run burst in the fourth to take a 9-1 win over the Baseline 18U in five innings. The Nationals' offense knocked in seven hits from six different players with Kenneth Moreno-Costa (2016, Somerset Academy Charter HS, FL) providing the offensive spark. Moreno-Costa finished perfect at the plate, going 2-2 with an RBI, two runs scored, a walk, a double and a stolen base with Michael Van Degna (2015, Somerset Academy Charter HS, FL) and Joseph Rodriguez (2015, Cypress Bay HS, FL) added in two RBIs apiece. 

Lis-Miguel Sucre (2015, Somerset Academy Charter HS, FL) took home the win for the Nationals after tossing the first four innings from the mound. Sucre threw only 33 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs or walks while striking out two with a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

Walk-Off Single Gives Hitdawgs 2-1 Win

The MN Hitdawg's got a walk-off fly ball from Luke Roskam (2016, Chaska HS, MN) as they took a 2-1 win over the Howell PAL Elite Baseball for their first win of the tournament. Roskam led the Hitdawg offense to seven hits from six different players with two of his own, finishing 2-3 with the game-winning RBI. This is the second game where the PAL Elite were in a position to win going into the final inning and ended up with the loss. 

Blake Tritch (2016, Chaska HS, MN) took home the win for the Hitdawg's after closing out the final three innings from the mound. Tritch threw 36 pitches with a strike percentage of 72 percent and allowed one hit and no runs while walking one and striking out four with a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 86 mph. 

Breakers and Academy Tie 1-1

The South Florida Breakers Blue and the IMG Academy Blue battled to a 1-1 tie after seven innings couldn't decide a winner. The Breaker offense was outhit 3-4 but was able to take advantage of three fielding errors from the IMG defense. Baron Carvel (2016, IMG Academy, FL) was the only player to log an RBI in the game after logging a 1-3 game at the plate for the IMG offense. 

Nick Rosenthal (2018, IMG Academy, FL) had the most successful game from the rubber from either team after tossing six innings for the IMG Academy. Rosenthal threw 72 pitches and allowed three hits and one unearned run while walking five and striking out eight with a fastball averaging 66 mph and topping out at 79 mph. 

Hoberman Leads Players Edge To Win

The Players Edge 18U got a standout game at the plate from Brett Hoberman (2015, Palm Beach Central HS, Fl) as they blanked the Miami Barracudas and took a 2-0 win. Hoberman led the Player's Edge offense to seven hits from five different players with a perfect 3-3 game at the plate, picking up a run scored, a double and a stolen base to power the offense. 

Colin Smith (2015, Park Vista Community HS, FL) took home the win for the Player's Edge bullpen after closing out the final three innings from the mound. Smith threw 33 pitches with 74 percent going as strikes while allowing one hit and no runs with four strikeouts on a fastball averaging 84 mph and topping out at 88 mph. 

Young arms shine as Next Level advances

Keyed by a five-run 1st inning, Next Level Baseball beat the Coastal Prospects to advance from the Round of 16 Sunday afternoon. Andrew Williamson (2015, Orange Park, FL) and Donnie Gleneski (2016, Orange Park, FL) led Next Level with two hits each. Williamson doubled, scored twice and drove in a run, while Gleneski knocked in a pair and scored once himself.

South Florida commit RHP Matthew Sellers (2015, Vero Beach, FL) struck out 10 in 5.0 innings for Next Level, throwing 48 of 66 pitches for strikes (73 percent). Sellers displayed a smooth delivery and outstanding arm speed, firing strikes at 87-89 mph, peaking at 90. He also showed good command of an upper-70s curve with good depth and 12/6 break. 

LHP Skylar Arias (2015, Orange Park, FL) went 2-for-3 with an RBI at the plate for Coastal Prospects. On the mound, he displayed a long, loose arm action while working in the 83-85 mph range with armside run and cutting action. Arias also flashed a plus changeup in the low-70s with good sink.

RHP Garrett Strope (2015, St. Johns, FL) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings for the Coastal Prospects, working in the 84-87 mph range. Strope showed a smooth delivery and quick arm while also flashing a low-70s curve with 12/6 break and good depth.
 


Warriors Take Out Scorpions 7-2

The Jacksonville Warriors got five unanswered runs in the third and fourth innings as they took a 7-2 win over the Scorpions White. The Warrior offense knocked in eight hits from six different players with Kyle Jenkins (2015, Mandarin HS, FL) leading the way at the plate. Jenkins finished a perfect 2-2 at the plate with an RBI, a run scored and a walk. 

Joe Hoelle (2015, Bartram Trial HS, FL) took home the win for the Warriors after tossing the first three innings from the mound. Hoelle threw 30 pitches and allowed no hits, runs, or walks while striking out two and logging a strike on 77 percent of his three-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

Hardballers Rally in Seventh, Take 3-1 Win

The Florida Hardballers needed a furious rally in the top of the seventh inning before coming back with three runs and taking a 3-1 win over the Florida Pokers Underclass Carolina despite committing three fielding errors. The Hardballer offense knocked in four hits from four different players with Fletcher Simmons (2015, Gainesville, FL) providing the late-game heroics. Simmons picked up his one hit in the final inning and knocked in two runs and picked up a stolen base.

Wyatt Jackson (2015, Suwannee HS, FL) took home the win for the Hardballers after closing out the final two innings from the mound. Jackson, a Florida Southern commit, threw 24 pitches and allowed no hits, runs or walks while striking out three with a fastball averaging 78 mph and topping out at 80 mph.

For the Gatorball, Austin Bogart (2016, Inverness, FL) picked up the only hit for his team with a single and later scored. Andrew MacNeil (2016, Gainesville, FL), Josh Harper (2016, Ocala, FL), and Kyle Brasfield (2016, Gainesville, FL) each contributed a RBI without a hit.

MacNeil pitched the longest with five innings of work. He did not allow a run with just one hit. He walked two batters and struck out seven on his 80 mph fastball.

For FTB, Mario Feliciano Santiago (2016, Hato Rey, PR) led the team with a single and scoring a run. Four other teammates added a single to help their team.

Ben Berggren (2016, Oviedo, FL) tossed the longest with five innings of work. He allowed one unearned run with seven hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out five on his 77 mph fastball.

FTB drops 13 hits in 7-5 win

FTB Max Bats 16u pounded-out 13 hits in their 7-5 win over Gatorball Baseball Academy Sunday night, advancing from the Round of 16. Kobe Lopez (2016, Orlando, FL) and Owen Von Esslinger (2016, Palm City, FL) recorded three hits each for FTB. Lopez displayed good bat speed and a keen eye at the plate, and quick feet with good arm strength in the field. Von Esslinger doubled and drove in three. Bryson Hutchinson (2017, Port Orange, FL) went 1-for-3 with two RBI, showing power potential with leverage in his swing.

Austin Bogart (2016, Inverness, FL) went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double and three RBI for Gatorball. He showed a patient approach and a live bat at the plate. On the mound, the left-hander worked in the 82-84 mph in an inning of relief. LHP Thomas Sorrentino (2015, Spring Hill, FL) started and fanned three in 3.1 innings, throwing 31 of 54 pitches for strikes (71 percent). Sorrentino worked in the 80-85 mph range with a good curve in the low-70s. 

RHP Sam Allen (2016, Saint Cloud, FL) started and pitched 4.0 innings for FTB, striking out four. Allen was around the plate with all his pitched and pounded the zone with a fastball at 80-84 mph. He also mixed in an upper-60s curve.

FBH Angels 18u pounded-out eight hits in their 6-5 win over Players Edge 18u Saturday afternoon. James Peck (2016, Sebring, FL) led the Angels with a triple and two hits, while teammate Nicholas Little (2016, Lithia, FL) went 1-for-3 with two RBI. 

Colin Smith (2015, Lake Worth, FL) led the offensive attack for Players Edge, going 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. 

LHP Logan Lyle (2016, Bartow, FL) struck out four in 5.2 innings for the Angels. He pitched inside effectively and threw strikes in the 75-82 mph range. Lyle also flashed a low-70s curve with 10/4 break.

Keyed by a five-run 5th inning, Scorpions South Upperclass beat the Brevard Aces 9-1 Saturday afternoon at the 5-Plex. 

Matthew Mika (2015, Lake Worth, FL) went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and an RBI from the Scorpions' leadoff spot. Teammate Conner Stephens (2015, Tampa, FL) added two hits and four RBI, while South Florida commit Joe Genord (2015, Lake Worth, FL) homered and drove in three runs. 

RHP Jesse Ferreira (2015,  Naples, FL) allowed one unearned run in 5.0 innings for the Scorpions, throwing 43 of 52 pitches for strikes (83 percent). His fastball sat in the 74-77 mph range, peaking at 79.

RHP Ryan Lang (2015, Merritt Island, FL) started and pitched 3.0 innings for the Aces, striking out three. He threw 35 of 47 pitches for strikes (75 percent) and worked in the 81-86 mph range. UCF commit RHP Thaddeus Ward (2015, Fort Myers, FL) struck out seven in 5.0 one-hit innings for SWFL. Ward worked in the 86-89 mph range and flashed a plus slider in the mid-70s. RHP Jose Valmana (2015, Cape Coral, FL) fanned a pair in 1.0 innings of relief. He worked in the 81-84 mphrange. South Florida commit LHP Garrett Bye (2015, Riverview, FL) struck out two in his inning of relief. The left-handed Bye wowed with a plus fastball at 88-90 mph. He also flashed a plus curve in the low-70s.

He struck out two while allowing two hits.  Anthony Garcia (2015, Pembroke Pines, FL) came in next.  In 4 1/3 innings, he gave up three hits and struck out as many.

The Duke commit, Griffin Conine (2014, Westin, FL), led the Elite Squad with a RBI double and two runs scored. Deyvid Silva (2015, Miami, FL) knocked a double and a single with a run. Elijah Eusebio added a RBI single, and Ural Forbes (2015, Delray Beach, FL) scored three RBIs without a hit. 

Austin Haworth (2015, Southwest Ranches, FL) led the pitching duties with three innings of work. He allowed two runs on five hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out two on his 82 mph fastball. He showed good command while staying tall on his backside. He has a late breaking curveball and has a good change up.

Ramon Guzman (2016, Fort Lauderdale, FL) led Team Prospect with a double and a single with a run. Jack McPherson (2015, Mountain Brook, AL) helped with a two RBI tripled in the game, and Daniel De Leon (2016, Santo Domingo, DR) roped two singles. Wander Duran (2015, San Domingo, DOM) added a RBI single of his own. 

Duran tossed most of the game with 5.1 innings. He allowed two runs off three hits. He walked three batters and struck out five on his 84 mph fastball. 

For IMG, Kyle Benyo (2015, Youngstown, OH) led the team with a triple and a double while scoring once. Logan (LT) "Anthony" Tolbert (2015, Piedmont, SC) roped a two RBI triple and scored once.

John O'Connor (2015, Boynton Beach, FL) led the Palm Beach Select with a triple, double, and a single in the game with a run scored. The North Florida commit, Jarret O'Leary (2015, Port St. Lucie, FL), smoked a pair of doubles with a RBI and a run. Cody Wilson (2015, Jupiter, FL) helped with two singles and two runs scored. 

Daniel Mayer (2015, Boynton Beach, FL) pitched most of the game with five innings. He allowed an unearned run off three hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out four on his 83 mph fastball. He has a good arm action that is long and has a solid follow through. He has a good online and smooth delivery that comes with a good hip rotation. Mack Lemieux (2015, Tequesta, FL) pitched the last two innings without a run or walk. He allowed one hit and struck out three batters one his 88 mph fastball. He has arm side run on his fastball. He has a good change up the keep batters honest.

Eddy Rivas shut down Inside The Diamond Baseball Club in Florida Legends 12-0 win.  He struck out three and walked four in five innings of work.  Jake Anchia (2015, Archbishop Edward McCarthy, FL) led the offense with two hits including a double and two RBI's,  Nido helped out with three hits including a triple and three RBI's. Oscar Marchena (2015, Gulliver Schools, FL) went 2 for 2 with a triple and drove in two runs.

His fastball was in the low 80's but reached 86 mph.

His fastball was between 86-89 mph and touched 90.  Skylar Arias (2015, Oakleaf, FL) came in and threw the sixth. He struck out three and allowed just one hit. He threw his fastball in the mid 80's and touched 86. Dillon Reed (2015, Creekside, FL) led the offense with two hits including a double and two RBI's. Jeffery Fripp (2016, Trinity Christian, FL) doubled in two runs in the win.

The FCSL Pride 18U defeated the Trojans Baseball 3-2 in seven innings.

For the Pride, Justin Moran (2016, Altamonte Springs, FL) led the team with two singles and two runs scored. Matthew Lusignan (2015, Sorrento, FL) added a RBI single, and Garrett Tomljenovich (2015, Orlando, FL) picked up two RBIs without a hit. 

Robert Bowen (2015, Titusville, FL) pitched the most effectively with three innings of work. He did not allow a run and kist three hits to fall. He walked a pair and struck out four on his 71 mph fastball. 

For the Trojans, Giovanny Bonilla (2016, Tamarac, FL) connected for a single with two runs scored. Five other players connected for five singles.

FCSL Pride 18U slips past Trojans Baseball 3-2.  Staurt Rodriguez (2015, Edgewater, FL) started and lasted 3 1/13 innings. He struck out five while allowing two hits. His fastball was between 83-86 mph. Robert Bowen (2015, Titusville, FL) came in next. In three innings, he struck out four while allowing three singles. Justin Moran (2016, Bishop Moore, FL) led the offense with two singles and came around to score twice. 

Daniel Roth (2016, JP Taravella, FL) threw four innings for the Trojans. He struck out six while allowing four hits.  Blake Bowman (2015, JP Taravella, FL) came in and struck out two in two innings of work. 

Scorpions Outlast PBA 6-3

The Scorpions Purple needed three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to hand the PBA Black 17U their first loss of the tournament. The Scorpions offense knocked in 11 hits from eight different players with Brad Nenna (2015, Lake Mary HS, FL) and Carter Brown (2015, Apopka HS, FL) leading the way on offense. Nenna finished 2-3 at the plate with a game-high three RBIs as Brown added in a perfect 2-2 game while crossing the plate twice with a double. 

Kyle Cross (2015, Lake Brantley HS, FL) took home the win for the Scorpions after closing out the final two innings from the mound. Cross, a South Florida University commit, tossed 27 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs or walks while striking out two and logging a strike on 67 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 83 mph and topping out at 86 mph. 

FTB Mizuno Cruises to 7-1 WIn

The FTB Mizuno 17U jumped out to a big lead with four runs in the third inning and didn't look back as they powered past the Suncoast Mizuno 7-1, taking advantage of four Suncoast fielding errors and an offense that doubled the Suncoast hit count 10-5. Andre Walden (2016, Cypress Creek HS, FL) and Cole Perry (2015, Atlantic Coast HS, FL) led the FTB offense with 2-3 games at the plate as Walden knocking in two RBIs and a run scored with Perry adding in two RBIs of his own. 

Ryan Conroy (2015, Lemon Bay HS, FL) took home the win for the FTB bullpen after tossing the first three innings from the mound, throwing 45 pitches and allowing three hits and no runs or walks while striking out four and logging a strike on 71 percent of his pitches. Conroy showed a well-working arm and a balanced, online delivery of a change-up that flashes potential and a fastball averaging 85 mph and topping out at 89 mph.  

Warriors Blank Palm Beach 10-0

The Jacksonville Warriors got a no-hitter from pitcher Kyle Morton (2015, Fleming Island HS, FL) as they blanked the Palm Beach Travel Baseball 10-0. Morton tossed a complete game from the mound, throwing 71 pitches in five innings of work while walking four and striking out two with a three-pitch rotation featuring a curveball and a fastball averaging 81 mph and topping out at 84 mph.

The Warriors offense got rolling early with three runs in the first inning and then exploded in the fourth with seven runs to put the game away. Blake Marabell (2016, Bartram Trail HS, FL) powered the offense to seven hits from six different players as he logged the game's only multi-hit stat line, going 2-3 at the plate with a game-high three RBIs thanks to both of his hits going for doubles. Jordan Tylski (2015, Mandarin HS, FL) added in a perfect 1-1 game at the plate while scoring three runs and logging two RBIs, a walk and a stolen base.

The Florida Burn 2016 Pennant defeated the Gainesville Naturals 18U 8-4 in six innings.

For the Burn, Justing Cohen (2015, Sarasota, FL) led the offense with a pair of singles and RBIs and while scoring once. Deacon Liput (2015, Oviedo, FL) added two singles as well with a RBI and two runs. Nick Long (2016, Sarasota, FL) roped a double and a single with a run. 

Dillon McCollough (2015, Deltona, FL) pitched the longest for his team with 2.2 innings. He allowed two runs with one hits. He did not walk a batter and struck out four on his 85 mph fastball. Chase Haney (2015, Winter Garden, FL) showed consistency with his 1.1 innings of work. He did not allow a walk, hit or a run. He struck out two while touching 87 mph. 

Bo Dewitz (2015, Gainesville, FL) tallied the only RBI off his double for the Naturals. The team had four different players score. 

Warriors Blank CRFS Baseball 6-0

The Jacksonville Warriors Orange took advantage of five fielding errors from the CRFS Baseball defense as they took a 6-0 shutout win. The Warriors offense needed only four hits from three players to log their six runs with Jared Skinner (2015, The Bolles HS, FL) turning a 1-2 game at the plate into an RBI and two runs scored with Cole Berger (2016, Christ Church Academy, FL) putting in a game-high two RBIs despite not logging a hit and going 0-2 at the plate. 

Kenny Donaldson (2016, Ponte Verda HS, FL) took home the win for the Warriors after tossing five innings from the mound. Donaldson threw 69 pitches and allowed two hits and no runs while walking one and striking out ten with a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 81 mph.

Felix Dieguez (2015, Tampa, FL) tossed the longest for his team with five innings. He did not allow a run and just one hit fall. He walked two players and struck out eight on his 85 mph fastball. He has a mound presence while changing speeds effectively. He uses his lower half while hiding the ball.

For the Aces, Anthony Nicols (2015, Boynton Beach, FL) walked off the game with a two RBI double in the seventh inning. Tyler Levin (2015, West Palm Beach, FL) helped in the game with a two RBI single and later scored. Jorge Leon (2015, Boca Raton, FL) knocked a pair of singles with a run scored. Clayton Moran (2015, Palm Harbor, FL) connected with a RBI double. 

Moran tossed the whole game without giving up an earned run and six hits. He walked one and struck out eight on his 84 mph. He has good command with a quick arm action. He works fast with a smooth and online delivery. 

For Toritos, Bryan Guerrero (2016, San Antonio, TX) roped two singles with a RBI and a run. Trevor Grabarkewitz (2015, Luling, TX) and Zachary De La Garza (2016, San Antonio, TX) each knocked a single and a run. Jeovanni Chavarrira (2016, San Antonio, TX) added a RBI single. 

Chavarrira tossed the longest for his team with one run given up off three hits. He walked two and struck out five. He ran the gun up to 80 mph. 

Comeback Falls Short for Bears Baseball

The Gatorball Baseball Academy defeated the Bears Baseball 6-5 in six innings.

Tanner Thomas (2016, Fleming Island, FL) led the Gatorball offense with a solo home run and a single along with two walks. Andrew MacNeil (2016, Gainesville, FL) helped with a RBI single of his own and later scored. Cody Drivas (2016, Ocala, FL) added a RBI single.

Owen Boone (2017, Ocala, FL) took over most of the pitching duties with four innings. He allowed three runs off three hits. He walked just two batters and struck out nine on his 76 mph fastball. He has a smooth delivery that comes with good command.

Travis Ritter (2016, Hernando HS, FL) started and earned the win for Hernando going 4 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 1 batter.  Ritter featured a 75-79/81 mph fastball and mixed in a 67-69 mph curveball and a 70-74 mph changeup.

IMG Academy Black defeated FTB 21 4-2 to advance past the first round of the playoffs thanks to a 2 run top of the 7th to break the tie.  Grant Horwitz (2016, IMG Academy HS, CA) led the way for the IMG offense going 1-3 with 2 RBI and Collier Rutledge (2016, IMG Academy HS, FL) went 1-4 with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base. 

AJ Hemmelgarn (2015, IMG Academy HS, IL) started and earned the win for IMG going 5 shutout innings allowing just 4 hits, while recording 1 strikeout.  Hammelgarn showed good command and a quick arm with a 77-81mph fastball and he mixed in a 66-72 mph curveball.

Next Level Baseball defeated the Florida Pokers Upperclass Navy 8-0 to advance past the first round of the playoffs.  Donnie Glenski (2016, Bishop Kenny HS, FL) led the way for Next Level's offense going 2-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Andrew Williamson (2015, Trinity Christian Academy HS, FL) added in a 1-2 day with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Leadoff man, Parker Stephens (2015, Suwannee HS, FL) went 1-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 walk. 

Brayson Smith (2015, Lincoln HS, FL) started and won the game for Next Level going 5 shutout innings allowing 3 hits and no walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Smith showed a solid arm action and a smooth, online delivery with his 84-88 mph fastball that had good life.  He also mixed in a late breaking 70-72 mph curveball and a deceptive 71-73 mph changeup.

The Elite Squad 16U Prime defeated the Florida Burn 2015 Pennant 5-3 to advance past the round of 16 in the playoffs.  Alejandro Toral (2017, Archbishop Edward  Mccarthy HS, FL) powered the Elite Squad offense going 2-3 with a solo home run, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Tennessee commit, Brandon Chinea (2016, Florida Christian HS, FL), also showed well going 2-3 with 1 double and 2 RBI, while Jack Khawly (2016, Somerset Academy Charter HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base. 

Tyler Santana (2016, Coral Gables Senior HS, FL) earned the win for the Elite Squad going 2 1/3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit, while striking out 1 batter.  Santana featured a 82-84/85 mph fastball and mixed in a 71-77 mph changeup.

The Palm Beach Select defeated the Davie Wildcats 9-1 to advance past the round of 16 in the playoffs.  Jacob Koos (2015, Wellington HS, FL) led the way for the Palm Beach offense going 2-4 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base. Cody Wilson (2015, Jupiter HS, FL) added in a 2-3 day with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Florida Atlantic commit, Mack Lemieux (2015, Jupiter HS, FL), showed power potential and a live bat going 1-2 with 1 double and Tyler Huggins (2015, Park Vista Community HS, FL) went 1-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.   

Ryan Daniel started and earned the win for Palm Beach going 6 strong innings allowing 1 run on 4 hits and no walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Daniel featured a 73-77/80 mph fastball and mixed in a 67-72 mph curveball.

FTB Chandler 16U defeated the Scorpions Purple 2-1 to advance past the round of 16 in the playoffs.  Encarnacion started and won the game for FTB going all 7 innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 6.  Encarnacion featured a 81-84/86 mph fastball and mixed in a 63-67 mph curveball and a 69-74 mph changeup.

The Elite Squad Prime defeated the MN Hitdawg's 8-0 in their consolation game.  Mike Spooner (2015, Boca Raton Community HS, FL) led the way for the Prime offense going 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Joey Gonzalez (2015, Miami Killian Senior HS, FL) also had a strong game going 2-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Mike Amditis (2016, Boca Raton Community HS, FL) added in a 1-2 day with 1 double and 2 runs scored, while Andrew Gottfried (2015, Calvary Christian Academy HS, FL), a Florida Atlantic commit, went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. 

Miami commit, Anthony Molina (2016, Somerset Academy Charter HS, FL), started and earned the win for the Prime throwing 4 shutout innnings allowing just 1 walk, while striking out 4 batters.  Molina showed a balanced delivery and got good life on his 85-88/90 mph fastball.  He also mixed in a good 74-75 mph changeup and a 72 mph slider.

SWFL 18U Gray defeated the FCSL Pride 17U 1-0 in their consolation game.  Shane McClanahan (2015, Cape Coral HS, FL) started and earned the win for SWFL tossing 4 1-hit innings allowing 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  McClanahan showed good command and a loose arm action with an explosive 84-88/90 mph fastball that had good life.  He also mixed in a 71-78 mph curveball on the mound.  Tyler Luneke (2015, St John Neumann HS, FL) also impressed out of the bullpen tossing 2 perfect innings and recording 4 strikeouts featuring a 79-83 mph fastball.

For Elev8, Exel Salgado (2016, Ft. Lauderfale, FL) led the team with two singles and two RBIs. Cesar Espinosa (2016, Ft. Lauderdale, FL) added two singles and a run scored of his own, and Alex Vazquez (2016, Fort Lauderdale, FL) roped a RBI triple. Antonio Ralat (2015, Miami, FL) helped with a RBI single to help his team. 

Anthony Maldonado (2016, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) pitched the entire game with five innings. He did not allow a run with just two hits. He walked one and struck out six on his 83 mph fastball.

The Elite Squad 16U Prime defeated the SBO Florida 8-1 in six innings.

The Elite Squad was led by Pedro Pages (2016, Doral, FL) who finished with a double and a single while plating two RBIs and a run scored. Wade Walton (2016, Jensen Beach, FL) added a double while scoring three RBIs. Derek Cartaya (2016, Pembroke Pines, FL) roped a RBI single of his own and later scored. 

Johnny Leone (2017, Hollywood, FL) led the pitching staff with three innings of work. He did not give up a run with just one hit. He also did not walk a batter and struck out three on his 85 mph fastball. He attacks hitters by throwing strikes on the mound. Muhammed Eid (2016, Fort Lauderdale, FL) went two innings on the mound. He did not allow a run or walk. Het let one hit fall with three strikeouts as well. He maxed out the gun at 85 mph too. He has a good curveball with arm side run on his fastball. 

For SBO Florida, Jacob Garcia (2015, Caguas, PR) and Gabriel Figueroa (2015, Caguas, PR) each connected for the two singles of the game. Adrian Perez (2015, Coral Springs, FL) scored the only run.

The FTB Rawlings 17U defeated the Florida Pokers Underclass Carolina 5-0 in seven innings.

Jacob Grenus (2015, Kissimmee, FL) pitched the longest with three innings. He did not allow a run or a walk. He allowed three hits and struck out seven on his 85 mph fastball. Trent Blum (2015, Longwood, FL) also showed dominance in his two innings. He did not walk or allow a run. He let two hits fall while striking out four. He maxed the gun out at 82 mph. 

The offense was led by Pablo Cedeno (2015, Longwood, FL) with a pair of doubles with a RBI and two runs scored. Connor Slagill (2015, Dover, FL) added a double and a single with a run. Camacho helped with a RBI single.

The SWFL 18U Navy defeated Team Elite Under Class of PR3-0 in seven innings.

Levi Humphries led the pitching staff with five innings of work. He did not allow a run or a hit. He walked two and struck out four on his 82 mph fastball. Kevin Mitchell (2015, Fort Myers, FL) finished the last two innings without a walk, hit or a run to occur. He struck out two while touching 83 mph.

Offensively, Nate Tomilonous (2015, St. Pete, FL) led the team with a RBI single. Mason Eischer (2016, Cape Coral, FL) added a single and a run scored. Three other teammates added a base knock on their team.

The Florida Pokers Upperclass Navy defeated the Ostingers Baseball Academy 17U 2-1 in seven innings.

Kevin Daiz (2015, Miami, FL) led the pitching for the Pokers with five innings. He allowed the one run with three hits. He walked one batter and struck out one on his 85 mph fastball. Grant Mahoney (2015, Boca Raton, FL) went the last two innings with only one hit and no runs. He walked one and struck out five. He maxed out the gun at 81 mph. 

Offensively, Jose Bermudez (2015, Orlando, FL) led the team with a RBI single. Hunter Sanicky (2015, North Palm Beach, FL) roped a triple and later scored. 

For the Ostingers, Austin James (2016, Valrico, FL) led the team with a triple and a single with a run. Two other players knocked a single each.

Brandon Harris (2016, Plant City, FL) pitched three innings without an earned run off three hits. He walked three and struck out two on his 87 mph fastball. Jordan Humphreys (2015, Crystal River, FL) pitched a perfect seventh and struck out one. He threw his fastball in the high 80's and touched 90 mph. Andrew MacNeil (2016, F.W. Buchholz, FL) led the offense with two singles and an RBI.

FL) led the Bears with two singles and an RBI.  Christian Santana (2017, Mater Academy Lakes, FL) doubled in a run while Raymond Mendez (2017, Mater Academy Charter, FL) went 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI. 

Jeremey Kennedy- Davis led the Pokers with a double and an RBI. Emilio Alvarez (2016, Lake Minneola, FL) pitched three innings and struck out four. He allowed three hits and did not walk a batter.

Bryce Van Horn (2016, Ida S Baker, FL) came in next.  In three innings, he struck out one but allowed five hits. His heater was in the low 80's and reached 85 mph.

He only threw 10 pitches but they recorded in the high 80's and touched 90 mph.  Jhordis Castillo (2016, Dominican Republic, DOM) threw 2 1/3 innings. He struck out four while allowing three hits.  Julio Anderson (2015, Dominican Republic, DOM) pitched 1 1/3 inning and struck out three.   His heater was between 85-87 mph and touched 89.

Sarasota Takes 4-1 Win Despite Half the Hi ts

The Sarasota Baseball Club had less than half of the hits the Baseline 18U offense had (4-9) but was able to make the most out of them as they took a 4-1 win. Justin Lara (2015, Cardinal Gibbons HS, FL) sparked the Baseline offense with a perfect game at the plate, going 3-3 and scoring a run while picking up a stolen base. 

Andrew Jones (2016, Sarasota HS, FL) took home the win for Sarasota after tossing the first four and two-thirds innings from the mound, throwing 73 pitches and allowing nine hits and one earned run while walking none and striking out three. Jones showed good extension out front on his delivery and a quick, well-working arm with a four-pitch rotation featuring a short-breaking slider and a fastball averaging 79 mph and topping out at 83 mph.

The Ostingers Baseball Academy got a strong day from their pitching staff as they shutout the Beyel Brothers Bulldogs 6-0 with a defensive effort that led to seven double plays. The Ostingers offense knocked in seven hits from six different players with Drew Badley (2015, Durant HS, FL) leading the way. Badley powered his way to a 2-3 game at the plate with a game-high four RBIs and a run scored with a two-run homer in the second to kick off the scoring. 

Jake Davey (2015, Riverview HS, FL) took home the win for the Ostingers' pitching staff that held the Bulldogs offense to only three hits on the game. Davey tossed 65 pitches in five and a third innings of work on the mound, allowing two hits and no runs while walking two and striking out four with a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 80 mph.

The Florida Burn 2016 Pennant had a consistent day at the plate and closed out the game with six runs in the final two innings to shutout the Trojans Baseball and take an 8-0 win. The Burn offense knocked in nine hits from seven different players with Nick Blasucci (2015, Riverdale HS, FL) leading the way. Blasucci powered his way to a perfect game at the plate, going 3-3 with a game-high three RBIs with a double as Nick Long (2016, Sarasota HS, FL) picked up two RBIs and a run scored thanks to a two-run homer.

The Davie Wildcats answered a 0-1 deficit in the second with four unanswered runs as they hold on for a 4-2 win over the SWFL 17U. The Wildcat offense knocked in seven hits from six different players with George Helbig (2015, Western HS, FL) leading the way. Helbig finished a perfect 2-2 at the plate while scoring two runs and knocking in a double. McLean Harris (2016, Gulf Coast HS, FL) sparked the SWFL offense after knocking half of his team's six hits while scoring two runs and picking up a stolen base. 

Trent Massaro (2015, Western HS, FL) took home the win for the Wildcats after tossing five and two-thirds innings from the mound. Massaro threw 89 pitches and allowed six hits and two runs, one earned, while walking two and striking out three with a fastball averaging 80 mph and topping out at 84 mph. 

Legends Cruise to 8-0 Win

The Lakeland Legends of the Batters Box 18U scored all eight of their runs in the third as they shutout the Elite Squad Underclass 8-0. The Legends offense knocked in five hits from five different players with three of those hits going for extra bases. Nick Leonard (2015, George W. Jenkins HS, FL) knocked his hit for a triple with the bases loaded to pick up three RBIs to lead the Legends' offense with Brandon Howlett (2018, George W. Jenkins HS, FL) adding a triple of his own with two RBIs. 

Matt Wight (2015, Lake Gibson Senior HS, FL) took home the win after tossing the full game from the mound for the Legends. Wight threw 69 pitches and allowed two hits and no runs while walking one and striking out eight, showing command inside with smooth delivery of a three-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

Scorpions Blank Tornados 8-0

The Scorpions White blanked the Florida Tornadoes and took a 8-0 win in five innings after a four-run fourth blew the game open. The Scorpions offense knocked in nine hits from seven different players with Franco Camacho (2015, North Broward Prep HS, FL) leading the way. Camacho powered his way to a 2-3 game at the plate while picking up two RBIs, a run scored, two stolen bases and a double. 

Brett Shure (2015, Lake Highland Preparatory HS, FL) took home the win for the Scorpions after tossing four innings from the mound before being relieved in the final inning. Shure threw 46 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs or walks while striking out three with a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 80 mph. 

FTB Chandler Powers Past Breakers 9-1

The FTB Chandler 16U jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning and didn't look back as they cruised to a 9-1 win over the South Florida Breakers Blue. The Chandler offense knocked in 11 hits from eight different players with Ivan Houellemont (2016, Fajardo, PR) leading the way offensively. Houellemont had a perfect game at the plate, finishing 2-2 with an RBI, a run scored and a triple. 

Ben Berggren (2016, Lake Howell HS, FL) took home the win for the FTB bullpen after starting out on the mound and tossing two and two-thirds innings. Berggren threw 58 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs while walking five and striking out two with a fastball averaging 75 mph and topping out at 77 mph. 

Ostingers Take 6-3 Win

The Ostingers Baseball Academy 17U used a four-run second inning to power past eh Miami Barracudas and take a 6-3 win despite committing four fielding errors. The Academy offense knocked in ten hits from seven different players with Joey Raffaele (2017, Newsome HS, FL) leading the way. Raffaele finished 2-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored with Alex Kachler (2016, Strawberry Crest HS, FL) knocking both of his hits for doubles. 

George Collier (2016, Durant HS, FL) took home the win for the Ostingers after tossing the first three innings from the mound. Collier threw 50 pitches and allowed two hits and no runs while walking none, striking out four and logging a strike on 66 percent of his pitches with a fastball averaging 77 mph and topping out at 80 mph.

Hardballers Shut Out Barracudas 9-0

The Florida Hardballers defeated the Miami Barracudas 9-0 in five innings.

For the Hardballers, Benjamin Koff (2015, Newberry, FL), the New Orleans commit, led the team with a home run, double, and a single while plating three RBIs and scoring three times. Blaise Maris (2015, Gainesville, FL) added two singles with two RBIs, and Isaiah Cullum (2015, Bushnell, FL) helped with a double and a single with three runs scored. 

Harrison Shubert (2016, Lake City, FL) pitched the whole game for the five innings. He did not allow a run off just two hits. He walked two batters and struck out nine on his 85 mph fastball. 

SWFL and Elite Squad tie

SWFL 17U tied the Elite Squad Underclass 3-3. 

For SWFL, Michael Matter (2016, Canterbury HS, FL) started the game tossing an impressive 4 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 3 walks, while recording 7 strikeouts.  Matter featured an 80-83/85 mph fastball and mixed in a 70-74 mph curveball and a 73-74 mph slider. 

McLean Harris (2016, Gulf Coast HS, FL) picked up SWFL's only hit going 1-3 with 1 run scored. 

For the Elite Squad, Kessinger went 1-3 with 1 run scored and Chavez went 1-1 with 1 run scored.

Burn Pitching Shuts Down FCSL Pride

The Florida Burn 2015 Pennant defeated the FCSL Pride 16U 2-0 in seven innings.

For the Burn, Rylee Buckmaster (2016, Venice, FL) led the pitching staff with four innings of work. He did not allow a walk or a run. He let one hit fall with seven strike outs in the game. He maxed out the gun at 88 mph. Ben Carson (2015, Plant City, FL) finished the last three innings without a run as well. He allowed two hits with one walk and five strikeouts. He ran the radar up to 79 mph. 

Offensively, Ryan Brzozowski (2015, Lithia, FL) led the team with a solo home run and a single in the game. Ty Craft added a single and later scored.

The Florida Tornadoes defeated Next Level Baseball 3-2 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Alex Bertot (2015, Highlands Christian Academy HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Tornadoes going all 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 7 walks, while striking out 5 batters. Bertot showed a smooth delivery and a solid arm action on his 76-80/82 mph fastball and mixed in a 60-67 mph curveball.  

Christopher Cata (2015, Western HS, FL) led the way for the Tornadoes' offense going 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Carlos Faris (2015, Trinity Preparatory HS, FL) added in a 1-2 day at the plate with 1 run scored and 1 walk.

The Scorpions White defeated FTB Sarasota 16U 4-3 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Jimbo Reemsnyder (2015, Providence Christian HS, FL) led the way for the Scorpions' offense going 2-2 with 1 home run, 1 double, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  Joseph Peery (2015, Fleming Island HS, FL) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double and 1 RBI.  Michael Diaz (2015, Winter Haven Senior HS, FL) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 run scored.  

Jimmy Howze (2015, Lake Brantley HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Scorpions going 4 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while recording 2 strikeouts.  On the mound Howze relied exclusively on his 75-78 mph fastball.

The PBA Black 17U defeated the Storm Chiefs 3-2 to improve their record to 2-0 in the tournament.  Glenn Burton (2015, Labelle HS, FL) started the game for PBA going 4 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 10 batters.  Burton featured a 79-82/84 mph fastball and mixed in a 61-64 mph curveball and a 69-73 mph changeup.  

Chance Polston (2015, North Port HS, FL) led the way for the PBA offense going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Garrett Martin (2015, North Fort Myers HS, FL) manged to score 1 run, steal 1 base and earn 1 walk.

Ostringers Baseball Academy 2015's defeated the Jacksonville Warriors Orange 1-0 for their second win in the tournament.  Bryce Gainer (2015, Durant HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Ostingers going 5 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 4 walks, while striking out 9 batters.  Gainer showed a balanced delivery and sound mechanics with his 77-80 mph fastball and a good 62-67 mph curveball that he used as his out pitch.  Jacob "Jake" Kinney (2015, Lakeland Christian HS, FL) added in 2 perfect innings of relief and recording 5 strikeouts using a 82-85/86 mph fastball.  Kinney also impressed at the plate as he went 1-2 with 1 double.  

Brandon Wheat (2015, Durant HS, FL) led the way for the Ostingers' offense going 2-3 and Conrado Skepple (2015, Bloomingdale HS, FL) went 1-3.  

For the Warriors, Chris Cuthrell (2015, West Nassau County HS, FL) started the game and took a no-decision as he threw 5 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3 batters.  Cuthrell showed a good follow through and a long arm action on the mound and featured a 74-79/80 mph fastball with a 64-69 mph curveball.

The Broward Nationals defeated FTB Mizuno 17U 5-3 to even their record at 1-1 in the tournament.  Munoz led the way for the Nationals' offense going 2-3 with 1 RBI.  Chayce Hay-Eldon (2015, West Broward HS, FL) collected 2 RBI at the plate and Joseph Rodriguez (2015, Cypress Bay HS, FL) went 1-2 with 2 runs scored and 1 walk.    

Justin Martinez (2015, West Broward HS, FL) started and won the game for the Nationals going 5 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs, but only 1 earned, on 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8 batters.  Martinez showed good command and a loose arm action with his 72-77/78 mph fastball that had armside run.  He also mixed in a 59-61 mph curveball and a 67-69 mph straight changeup that flashed potential.  

For FTB, Patrick Robinson (2015, Melbourne Senior HS, FL) went 2-3 with 1 double and 2 runs scored, while Kyle Edler (2015, Winter Springs HS, FL) showed good bat speed going 2-2 with 1 run scored and 1 walk.  Oliver Tejada (2015, Lyman HS, FL) impressed at the plate as well going 1-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.

The Scorpions Purple defeated Howell PAL Elite Baseball 4-3 thanks to a 3 run rally in the bottom of the 7th to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Alex Skinner (2015, West Orange HS, FL) led the way for the Scorpions going 1-2 with 1 double, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.  Justin Gesek (2015, The Bolles HS, FL) added in a 1-3 day with 1 double and 1 run scored.  Pablo Cabrera (2015, Bishop Moore HS, FL) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 triple and 2 runs scored.  

Davidson commit, Casey Sutherland (2015, Lake Brantley HS, FL) earned the win for the Scorpions throwing 3 perfect innings and striking out 6 batters.  Sutherland threw easy and showed a quick arm on his 80-84 mph fastball and mixed in a late breaking 72-75 mph slider.

Andrew Cabezas (2015, Coral Gables Senior HS, FL), a Miami commit, earned the win tossing 3 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Cabezas featured impressive velocity on the mound as he threw his fastball between 84-89/91 mph and mixed in a 70-77 mph curveball.

The Ontario Blue Jays tied the FBH Angels 18U 3-3.  

Ben Braun (2015, Georgetown District HS, ON) started for the Blue Jays going 5 innings allowing just 1 run on 2 hits and 4 walks, while recording 4 strikeouts.  Braun used a balanced, sharp downhill delivery with his 73-76 mph fastball and mixed in a 63 mph curveball.  

Kevin Dion (2015, Huron Heights HS, ON) led the way for the Blue Jays' offense going 1-3 with 1 RBI and Sean McVeigh (2016, Gordon Graydon Memorial HS, ON) scored 1 run and had 1 RBI at the plate.  

For the Angels, Billy McKay (2015, Plant City HS, FL) tossed all 7 innings allowing just 3 runs, 2 earned, on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5 batters.  McKay used an effortless arm action and was around the plate with his 74-79/81 mph fastball and his 68-71 mph changeup.  

Offensively the Angels were lead by James Peck (2016, Sebring HS, FL) who went 1-2 with 1 double, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Josh Crouch (2017, Sebring HS, FL) added in a 1-3 day with 1 run scored and 1 RBI day at the plate.

Robbie Hoyt (2015, Cardinal Newman HS, FL) earned the win for the Scorpions tossing 3 shutout innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 3 batters.  Hoyt showed good command and set up hitters with his 81-85/86 mph fastball, 73-75 mph curveball and a deceptive 74-79 mph changeup that he used as an out pitch.

Del Valle collects 2 hits in FTB win

FTB 21 defeated the Sarasota Baseball Club 4-1 to pick up their first win of the tournament.  Del Valle led the way for the FTB offense using a confident approach and a live bat to go 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored , 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Rodriguez also showed well going 1-3 with 1 run scored.  

Rivera started and earned the win for FTB going 6 1/3 innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 4 hits and 5 walks, while striking out 3 batters.  Rivera featured a 78-81/82 mph fastball and mixed in a 63-66 mph curveball and a 70-73 mph changeup.  

For Sarasota, Mat Schalbach (2015, Sarasota HS, FL) showed power potentail going 1-2 with 1 walk and Skylar Frey (2015, Sarasota HS, FL) worked 2 walks and stole 3 bases.  

Gomez sparks CRFS to win

CRFS Baseball defeated Beyel Brothers Bulldogs 6-1 to even their record at 1-1 in the tournament.  Leadoff man, Raul Gomez (2016, Freedom HS, FL), led the way for the CRFS' offense using a short, compact swing and a live bat to go 2-3 with 1 double and 2 runs scored.  Oraj Anu (2017, Colonial HS, FL) also showed well going 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.  Yaison Reinoso (2017, Oak Ridge HS, FL) and Anthony Rosado (2015, Olympia HS, FL) each added in a 1-3 day with 1 RBI.

Michael Perez (2017, Oak Ridge HS, FL) started and earned the win for CRFS tossing 7 strong innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 3 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 4 batters.  Perez relied on his 72-77/79 mph fastball while on the mound and mixed in a 58-62 mph curveball as well as a 68-72 mph changeup.  

For the Bulldogs, Drew Eller (2016, Mellbourne Senior HS, FL) and Bryson Wallace went 1-3.  

Carlos Beltran and SWFL End in 2-2 Tie

The Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy Blue tied with the SEFL 18U Grey 2-2 at the end of six innings.

Aldemar Burgos (2015, Guaynabo, PR) led Carlos Beltran with a double and a single while plating two RBIs. Jorge Luis Martinez (2015, Barranquitas, PR) helped with a single and later scored. 

The South Florida commit, Jovani Moran (2015, Sabana Gradne, PR), went the longest for his team with 3.1 innings. He allowed one run off two hits. He walked three and struck out four on his 88 mph fastball. He throws strikes with a quick arm action. He has riding life on his fastball with good command and projectable stuff. Kenuel Dominguez (2015, Barceloneta, PR) finished the game with 2.2 innings. He allowed one run and two hits. He walked two and struck out two. He maxed out the gun at 82 mph. 

For SWFL, CJ Alexander (2015, Cape Coral, FL) knocked a two RBI single to lead the team. Donovan Petrey (2015, Arcadia, FL) knotted a single and later scored. 

The Florida commit, Troy Bacon (2015, Tampa, FL), went the longest for his team with four innings. He did not allow a run off two hits. He walked two and struck out two on his 90 mph fastball. He has the ability to pitch out of trouble. He stays tall on his backside with a balanced delivery. 

PBA Takes Care of Howell PAL 10-2

The PBA Black 17U defeated the Howell PAL Elite Baseball 10-2 in six innings.

Terry Tates (2015, Cape Coral, FL) roped two singles that plated four RBIs for PBA. Will Nelson (2016, Arcadia, FL) helped with two doubles with a RBI while scoring two runs. Austin Collins (2016, Nokomis, FL) contributed a double and a single, and and Sam Mieses (2016, Cape Coral, FL) added a RBI double. 

Hunter Tinsley (2016, Fort Myers, FL) tossed the longest for his team with three innings. He allowed one run off five hits. He walked one and struck out three on his 81 mph fastball.

Joe Santanello (2016, Jackson, NJ) led the Howell PAL with a double and a single while scoring the only RBI of the game. John Carrello (2015, Morganville, NJ) added two singles and a run scored. 


Scorpions No Hit Elite Athlete Academy

The Scorpions South Upperclass defeated the Elite Athlete Academy 13-0 in four innings.

Tobias Myers (2016, Winter Haven, FL) and Clayton Morell (2015, Boynton Beach, FL) led the Scorpions for the pitching staff. Myers pitched two innings without a walk, hit, or a run. He struck out three on his 89 mph fastball. He has a smooth and online delivery. He has a great arm action while working downhill. Morell went the last two innings for his team. He maxed out the gun at 91 mph. He has outstanding arm speed while using his lower half. 

The Scorpions were led by Sendle Jean (2016, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) and Tyler Hawks (2015, New Port Richey, FL). Each of them roped two singles with two RBIs and a single. Joe Genord (2015, Lake Worth, FL) helped with a double and a single while tallying a RBI and a run. Matthew Mika (2015, Lake Worth, FL) connected with a double and two runs. 


Comeback Falls Short for Blue Jays

The Ontario Blue Jays defeated the Players Edge 18U 7-5 in six innings.

For the Players Edge, Rutger Spartz (2015, Lake Worth, FL) led the team with a double and a single while driving in two RBIs and scoring twice. Timothy Meyers (2015, Lake Worth, FL) added a double and a single as well with two RBIs. Chris Busch (2015, Boca Raton, FL) connected with a single and a double along with a RBI and a run scored. Kevin J. Cruz Lugo (2016, Delray Beach, FL) helped with a pair of base knocks.

Tyler Constable (2015, Boynton Beach, FL) led the pitching duties with 4.2 innings of work. He allowed two earned runs with six hits. He walked four and struck out five. He ran the gun up to 81 mph. He has a quick arm with a good follow through. He has a great late breaking curveball that is his out pitch. 

For the Blue Jays, Dalton Clarke (2015, Newmarket, ON) led the team with a two RBI double in the game. Tanner Zeggil (2015, Stayner, ON) added two base hits with a RBI, and Jacob Jones (2-15, Mississauga, ON) roped two singles with a run scored. Max Hewitt (2015, Midhurst, ON) helped with a RBI single of his own. 

Errors Hurt Tornadoes in 7-2 Loss

The FTB Sarasota 16U defeated the Florida Tornadoes 7-2 in seven innings.

For FTB Sarasota, Edgar Brito (2017, Saint Cloud, FL) led the surge with two singles along with two RBIs and a run scored. Cole Pencosky (2016, Bradenton, FL) added two singles with a RBI. Chase Solesky (2016, Fort Pierce, FL) helped with a RBI single and a run of his own.

Solesky pitched the longest for his team with four innings of work. He did not allow an earned run off just one hit. He walked three batters and struck out six on his 84 mph fastball. He throws strikes with an easy and long arm action. He changes speeds effectively with his smooth and sound mechanics. 

For the Tornadoes, Lint tried to spark a fire with a RBI single. Brannigan Hart (2016, Davie, FL) helped with a single and a run. 

Zachary Urso (2-17, Sunrise, FL) found some consistency on the mound for his team with four innings on the mound. He did not allow a run with three hits given up. He also did not walk a batter and struck out three. He ran the gun up to 78 mph. 

FTB Rawlings Take 3-1 Win

The FTB Rawlings 17U needed two runs in the bottom of the sixth to squeeze past the Bears Baseball and take a 3-1 win. The Rawlings offense knocked in four hits from three different players with Juan Carlos Abreau (2016, Winter Springs HS, FL) leading the way. Abreau, a Florida International University commit, finished perfect at the plate, going 2-2 with a run scored, a walk, a double and two stolen bases. 

Jose Espada (2015, Felipe Colon Diaz HS, PR) took home the win for the Rawlings bullpen after tossing the final three innings from the mound. Espada threw 28 pitches and allowed no hits, runs, or walks while striking out five and logging a strike on 86 percent of his pitches with a curveball and a fastball averaging 82 mph and topping out at 87 mph. 

Legends Blowout IMG 12-0

The Florida Legends got a no-hitter from pitcher Vladmir Nunez (2015, Miami Killion Senior HS, FL) and got the offense rolling early as they blew out the IMG Academy Blue 12-0 in three innings. The Legend offense knocked in eight hits from six different players with Devin Conn (2015, Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS, FL) leading the way. Conn logged a perfect game at the plate, finishing 2-2 with two RBIs, a run scored and a triple as Eduardo Arteaga (2017, Miami Killion Senior HS, FL) added in a bases-loaded double to give him a game-high three RBIs and a run scored. 

Nunez tossed all three innings for the Legends and allowed no hits or runs while walking one and striking out four with a fastball averaging 84 mph and topping out at 87 mph. 

Coastal Prospects Cruise to 10-1 Win

The Coastal Prospects jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first and blew the game open with six runs in the third inning to take a 10-1 win over the Florida Surge in five innings. The Prospect offense knocked in six hits from five different players and was helped out by ten walks with Josh Alvarado (2015, Creekside HS, FL) leading the way offensively. Alvarado logged the game's only multi-hit game, finishing 2-3 with a game-high three runs scored and three stolen bases. 

Will Pillsbury (2016, Oakleaf HS, FL) took home the win for the Prospects after tossing the first two and a third innings from the mound, throwing 35 pitches and allowed no hits or runs while walking one and striking out six. Pillsbury showed control all around the plate and a balanced, online delivery, attacking hitters with a curveball and a fastball averaging 83 mph and topping out at 86 mph. 

IMG Cruises to 9-1 Win

The IMG Academy Black used a five-run fifth inning to spark a blowout of the MN Hitdawg's and take a 9-1 win. The IMG offense knocked in eight hits from six different players with Kyle Benyo (2015, IMG Academy HS, OH) leading the way offensively. Benyo powered his way to a 2-4 game at the plate, logging a game-high four RBIs thanks to his hits going for a double and a triple. 

Dion Henderson (2016, IMG Academy HS, MI) took home the win for IMG after tossing the first five innings from the mound. Henderson, a University of Kentucky commit, threw 77 pitches and allowed three hits and no runs while walking three and striking out an astounding 13 batters with a fastball averaging 86 mph and topping out at 89 mph. 

SCORE Takes Win on Walk-Off

SCORE International 18U got a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh from Chavez Young (2016, Faith Baptist Christian HS, FL) and pushed past the Galaxy Aces to take a 3-2 win despite logging only two hits. Yeison Gomez (2015, Faith Baptist Christian HS, FL) provided the power for the SCORE offense, knocking his hit for a two-run homer in the fourth. The Aces defense dominated the game with five double plays over the course of the game, stranding seven SCORE batters on base.

Ryan Boyd (2017, Plant City HS, FL) took home the win for SCORE after closing out the three innings from the mound. Boyd tossed 33 pitches and allowed one hit and no runs or walks while striking out three with a fastball averaging 80 mph and topping out at 84 mph. 

Elev8 Bullpen Tosses No-Hitter in Win

The Elev8 Baseball Academy got a no-hitter from the bullpen as they put up five runs in the fifth to take a 5-1 win over the SBO Florida. The Elev8 offense knocked in four hits from four different players with three of those hits going for doubles with Cesar Espinosa (2016, Elev8 Sports Institute, FL) turning his 1-2 game at the plate into a double with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base . 



Chris Wallace (2015, Park Vista Community HS, FL) and Thomas Romero (2015, Choral Springs Charter HS, FL) teamed up to keep the SBO offense hitless with Wallace taking the win after tossing the first three and a third innings. Wallace walked one and struck out six with a fastball averaging 76 mph and topping out at 79 mph. Romero closed out the final two and two-thirds innings, allowing the run while walking two and striking out seven with a fastball averaging 88 mph and topping out at 92 mph. 

Suncoast Mizuno Takes Down Broward 9-1

The Suncoast Mizuno defeated the Broward Nationals 9-1 in seven innings.

For Mizuno, Jonathan Aragon (2015, Bradenton, FL) led the offense with two solo home runs in four at bats. Zacchaeus Wiedman (2016, Bradenton, FL) added a double with a single along with two RBIs. Cameron Pearcey (2015, Bradenton, FL) crushed a solo home run, and Daren Ortiz (2015, Bradenton, FL) connected with two singles with a RBI and a run.

Aragon also pitched the whole game for his team. He allowed one run with five hits. He walked three batters and struck out four. 

Tomas Hernandez (2016, Hialeah, FL) led the Broward team with a double and the only run scored. There were four other teammates that each added one single.


Lakeland Topples SWFL By Ten Runs

The Lakeland Legends of the Batters Box 18U defeated the SWFL 17U 10-0 in five innings.

The Lakeland offense was led by Trevin Pruitt (2016, Lakeland, FL) with a double and two singles with three RBIs and two runs. Baylee Waters (2015, Lakeland, FL) added a single and a double with two RBIs and scoring twice. Clark Grenfell (2015, Lakeland, FL) and Timothy Brown (2016, Dundee, FL) each knocked a two RBI double.

Brandon Howlett (2018, Auburndale, FL) tossed all five innings without a run to score. He allowed two hits without a walk and striking out three one his 81 mph fastball. He throws all his pitches around the plate seemingly effortlessly. He has a sinking fastball with a smooth and online delivery.


Hardballers Take Victory on Walk-Off

The Florida Hardballers got a walk-off single from Phillip Felician (2016, Lake Weir HS, FL) as they took a 3-2 win over the Ostingers Baseball Academy 17U. Felician led the Hardballer offense to eight hits from six different players with a 2-3 game at the plate, picking up two RBIs including the game-winner. The Ostingers' offense outhit the Hardballers with 10 hits from six different players with four of those players logging two-hit stat lines.

Thomas Spinelli (2016, Trinity Catholic HS, FL) took home the win for the Hardballers after tossing the final inning, holding the Ostingers to no hits or runs while walking none and striking out two. Spinelli showed control all around the plate with his pitches and a deceptive delivery of a three-pitch rotation featuring a fastball averaging 86 mph and topping out at 87 mph. 

Palm Beach Shuts Out Breakers 7-0

The Palm Beach Travel Baseball defeated the South Florida Breakers 7-0 in seven innings.

The Palm Beach team was led by Carlos Blas (2015, West Palm Beach, FL) with three singles and a run. Jorge Hernando (2016, West Palm Beach, FL) added two singles with a RBI and a run. German Torres (2016, West Palm Beach, FL) contributed a RBI single to help.

Johnathan Rodriguez (2016, Lake Worth, FL) pitched the entire game for his team. He went all seven innings without a run with three hits. He did not allow a walk and struck out eleven batters on his 73 mph fastball

Austin Sacks (2017, Pembroke Pines, FL) tried to spark the offense for the Breakers with a double. Two teammates added two singles.

The Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy Gold tied with the Sarasota Baseball Club at 5-5 at the end of seven innings.

For Carlos Beltran, Jose Rodriguez (2015, Barceloneta, PR) led the team with a double and two singles with a pair of RBIs and a run. Adrian Martinez (2015, Bayamon, PR) helped with a two RBI double and later scored. Elmer Sosa (2015, Carolina, PR) added two singles with two runs.

Javier Garmon (2015, Carolina, PR) pitched the whole seven innings. He let two earned runs score off six hits. He walked five batters and struck out seven on his 83 mph fastball. 

For Sarasota, Skylar Frey (2015, Sarasota, FL) led the team with a pair of singles with a RBI and two runs. Matt Schlabach (2015, Sarasota, FL) was pinned with two RBIs without a hit.

Cody Brickhouse (2015, Sarasota, FL) pitched most of the game with five innings. He allowed one earned run with five hits. He walked one batter and struck out eight one his 84 mph fastball.

The Ostingers Baseball Academy 2015s defeated the CRFS Baseball 8-0 in five innings. 

Drayden Williams (2015, Valrico, FL) led the pitching surge for the Ostingers with three innings of work. He did not allow a walk, run or hit in the game. He struck out six on his 84 mph fastball. Drew Badley (2015, Durant, FL) finished the game with two innings. He walked one and struck out five without a hit or run. He maxed out the gun at 78 mph.

Offensively, Darius Autry (2015, Tampa, FL) led the team with a two RBI single. Nathaniel McCabe (2015, Brandon, FL) and Sam Davidson (2015, Tampa, FL) each helped with a RBI single. 

Burn 2016 Scores Five Unanswered in Win

The Florida Burn 2016 Pennant faced a 0-2 deficit in the bottom of the fourth and responded with five unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth to take a 5-2 win over the FCSL Pride 18U. Both teams knocked in four hits apiece offensively, but where the Burn offense was helped out by eight walks and only four strikeouts, the Pride offense had only one walk and was plagued by 13 strikeouts front he Burn bullpen.

Johnie Schneider (2015, Calvary Christian HS, FL) took home the win for the Burn after closing out the final three innings from the mound, throwing 38 pitches and allowing one hit and no runs or walks while striking out six and logging a strike on 63 percent of his pitches. Schneider, a Polk State commit, showed effortless arm action, tossing easy strikes with a three-pitch rotation featuring a 10/4 or a 2/8 curveball, a slider and a fastball averaging 85 mph and topping out at 88 mph. 

Burn Ride Early Lead to Win

The Florida Burn 2015 Pennant jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning and held on for the 6-3 win over the Team Elite Underclass, taking advantage of three Elite fielding errors. The Burn offense knocked in eight hits from five different players with Tyler Dyson (2016, Braden River HS, FL) leading the way. Dyson finished 2-3 at the plate, picking up an RBI and a run scored with Ty Craft (2015, Jeff Davis HS, GA) knocking his hit for a game-high two RBIs. 

James Holle (2015, Olympia HS, FL) took home the win for the Burn in a game that saw four pitchers from each team log time on the rubber. Holle tossed the first two innings and allowed three hits and one earned run on 37 pitches while walking one and striking out one with a fastball averaging 71 mph and topping out at 73 mph.
