As part of our comprehensive 2009 draft preview coverage, PG Crosschecker will provide detailed state-by-state previews along with state rankings of all the top high-school, junior-college and college prospects in this year’s draft. You may check in daily as we post new, updated rankings for all states.
We have follow lists for every state that were posted several weeks ago, and we’ll be updating those lists in the last 2-3 weeks leading up to the June 9-11 draft. We’ve continued to refine the state rankings as we’ve seen players for one last time, and/or gotten more current input from scouts and college recruiters.
The states on the accompanying grid that have been finalized have been noted by an asterisk (*). All other lists were assembled effective early- to mid-April. An explanation of the player groupings can be found at the top of each state file. To access the lists, you must be an Insider-level subscriber.
As part of our state-by-state coverage, we also plan to provide full scouting profiles on all players in Groups 1 (rounds 1-3) and 2 (roughly rounds 4-10), along with mini-profiles on all players in group 3 (roughly rounds 11-25). The information has been prepared by the Perfect Game scouting staff, with most of the input as it relates to the 2009 draft provided by Allan Simpson, David Rawnsley, Anup Sinha and Jeff Simpson.
You’ll be able to read the overview we’ll provide for each state later this month, as well as the scouting profile on the No. 1 prospect for each state free of charge, but you’ll be required to be a PG Crosschecker ‘Insider-level’ subscriber to access all follow lists (Click here for subscriber information).
