As we moved moved along with these draft prospect profiles, we’ve noted more than a few times that these players arrive at their elite status from all different angles. They don’t all follow a typical path, and that’s true of UCF lefthander, Eric Skoglund. Many of the players we’ve profiled made names for themselves playing for Team USA, or in the Cape Cod League, Northwoods League or the NECBL. Skoglund, while a known commodity for some time now, didn’t make his name for himself in any of those places. He quietly performed and developed as a prospect in the Florida League last summer, and has carried that over into this spring, as he pieced together a monster season.
