Top Illinois Pitchers in the Building

Last weekend, two of Illinois very best pitchers put on quite a show at the PG Indoor Showcase. While there were several outstanding pitchers in attendance, these two from Illinois were both among the best.

                Gary Perinar                                          Shaun Seibert

First up was Shaun Seibert RHP from Edwardsville HS in Southern Illinois. Seibert threw consistently 89-91 with real good life. He topped out at 92 and we think he has even more in the tank. He is well put together, but not the protype tall RHP scouts covet. He has a smooth, very quick arm with good solid mechanics. He showed a real good sharp breaking ball in the upper 70s. He has great command of all his pitches. Shaun has signed with the U of Arkansas.

Later on, Gary Perinar RHP from Minooka HS in the Chicago area put on quite a show. We had seen Perinar a few times before, but he was much better this time out. He topped out at 93 and pretty much stayed at 91 the entire time. He even threw 90-91 out of the stretch. His breaking ball was a very good slider that ranged from 77 to 80. He also showed a nice changeup in the low 80s. His mechanics and arm action have very noticeably improved. Our rankings came out before this event or Perinar would be ranked much higher. Gary has signed with the U of Minnesota.

There were several highest level pitching prospects at this year's Indoor Showcase. Perinar and Seibert were among the very best. A head to head battle between these two top Illinois pitchers, might not result in a run scored until one of them wore out.
