When Marcus Wilson first arrived on the national scene he was a skinny 15 year old with a world of potential, and very little present skill. The transformation that has taken place in the 20 months since has been remarkable.

Prior to joining the San Gabriel Valley Arsenal, Wilson's only exposure to competitive baseball was his experience at the Urban Youth Academy and in regional competition. When he attended his first Perfect Game event in September 2012, Wilson opened eyes with his impressive foot speed, ability to generate bat speed and arm strength, all with a long, lanky young body. He also showed vulnerability to breaking stuff and little use for the middle and opposite field offensively.
