Keep An Eye On Massachusetts

The 2003 class is loaded!

Massachusetts has always been a good baseball state. They have a fair share of excellent prospects in the 2002 high school class. Mark Rosen, a top lefty and potential first round pick from Randolph, MA., leads the way. There are also several other potential draft picks and division one prospects including?€? Ryan Baker, Medford HS?€? Brandon Gomes, Durfee HS... Ryan Edell, Lexington HS?€? Tom Thornton, Middleboro HS?€? and there are more. However the 2002 class pales in comparison to the high school junior class in Mass. In fact, most of the country outside of California, Florida, Texas and maybe Georgia will have to take a back seat to next years Massachusetts Class of top draft prospects.

For those who may be a little skeptical, here is a run down on a few of the top prospects in the 2003 class from this state in the heart of New England.

Jeff Allison -- RHP -- Peabody HS Allison throws consistently in the low 90s with a good breaking ball. He has one of the quickest arms in America.

Eric Grabowski -- OF/P -- David Prowdy HS Grabowski is a plus 6.5-6.6 runner with a plus arm, tops out around 90 from the mound. He is simply one of the most athletic prospects in the ?€?03?€? class.

Patrick Bresnahan -- RHP -- Dover Sherborn HS Bresnahan is another outstanding athlete who is a plus runner, but his pitching ability will rank with anyone nationally. We have seen low 90s with an outstanding breaking ball.

Lance Zawadzki -- INF -- St John?€™s HS Zawadzki is one of the top infielders in America. He has plus arm, plus speed and some of the best actions you will see. He hits, both ways and hits with power.

Jason Smith -- RHP -- Bourne HS Smith is yet another 90+ pitcher with a high ceiling.

Then you can add these top prospects to the list, all are legitimate top level college or pro prospects.

Adjatay Nyadjroh -- OF -- Andover HS
Matthew Antonelli -- INF -- St. Johns Prep
Nick Devito -- P/1B -- Hingham HS
Michael Parker -- INF -- Newton South HS
Miguel Magrass -- 3B/P -- Salisbury School in CT, but lives in West Roxbury

This is just a partial list of top rated Massachusetts prospects in the junior class. More will be surfacing over the next year. It is going to become a mini scouting convention by next spring in the northeast!
