Not too many scouts in the baseball world are immune to the charms of a power hitting left-handed bat. It’s still as valuable a commodity as you can find in modern day baseball, so when a player shows that potential as an amateur, he’s going to garner some extra attention. Conrad Gregor didn’t seem to fall into that category, however, until last summer. He’s long been suspected to be capable of developing into a powerful lefty bat, but his total of just six home runs over his first two college seasons spoke to the fact that he wasn’t ready to step into that role just yet.
