April 6 Regional Rankings

Florida

Tampa Jesuit is still the top team as it prepares for their annual Easter Tournament. They are followed by Olympia, Columbus, American Heritage, Gulliver, and Archbishop McCarthy, as the six school have been mainstays in both the Florida Regional Rankings and the upper half of the National Rankings all year.

Two news teams enter as Miami schools Monsignor Pace and St. Brendan move in at No. 24 and 25.

Great Plains

Maize (KS) ascends to the top spot after extending their winning streak to 27 games dating back, the Eagles have not lost a game since 2010.

Vianney (MO) overtakes Lee's Summit West (MO) as the top team in the Show-Me State following a head to head win, Vianney moves up to No. 2, West falls to No. 3. Francis Howell moves up to No. 6 with a 7-2 start to the season, with their only losses coming to Vianney and Chicagoland powerhouse Glenbrook North.

New additions this week include: No. 12 Granview (CO), No. 13 Liberty (MO) and No. 17 Dakota Ridge (CO).

Mid-Atlantic

Providence (NC) retains the top spot again as they picked up a big win over Ardrey Kell (NC). The rest of the top five is James River (VA), Lexington (SC), Western Branch (VA), and TC Roberson (NC).

A pair of teams enter: No. 20 Lake Braddock (VA) and No. 21 Severna Park (MD).

Midwest

A new team is in the top spot as Cathedral (IN) takes over. Lexington Catholic (KY) had a big week in Florida and is No. 22. Mount Carmel (IL), Strongsville (OH), and Providence Catholic (IL) are the rest of the top five.

Lake Central (IN) is a new addition at No. 21, as is No. 22 New Trier (IL) and Mason (OH) is 25.

Northeast

The Northeast season is still in its infancy as the ranks are mostly unchanged. One school that has jumped out in the early season is Salisbury School (CT) who has a couple of impressive wins and is up to No. 3 in the region.

Cherokee (NJ) is the only new team to enter the ranks. They enter at No. 24.

Northwest

Kentwood (WA) continues to hold onto the top spot, having started the season 7-0. Lake Stevens (WA) climbs to No. 2 with a 9-0 start of their own. 

Edmonds-Woodway (WA) continues its ascent, moving up five spots this week to No. 5, while the biggest move up this week is Wenatchie (WA) which has gotten off to a 4-0 start thanks to a very strong pitching staff.
 
New additions this week include: No. 9 Seattle Prep (WA), No. 16 North Medford (OR), No. 17 Olympia (WA) and No. 20 Walla Walla (WA).

Pacific

Mater Dei experienced a bit of a NHSI championship hangover, getting swept by a tough Cypress squad, to fall from the top spot. The huge doubleheader sweep catapults 15-2 Cypress from the bubble to No. 10. Preseason No. 1 Harvard-Westlake reclaims the top spot, while Mater Dei swaps spots with the Wolverines, coming in at No. 2.

Still undefeated after knocking off No. 20 San Jose Valley Christian, St. Francis continued to climb, moving up to No. 3. No. 5 Orange Lutheran and No. 6 Campolindo also make big moves this week.

Cathedral Catholic and El Capitan have jockeyed back and forth for bragging rights as top team in San Diego for the past few weeks, so it is fitting that they would meet in the championship game of the San Diego Lions tournament. Cathedral Catholic came out ahead 4-1, coming in at No. 9 this week, while El Capitan finds itself at No. 11.

New additions this week include: No. 10 Cypress, No. 24 Pacifica (Anaheim Lions Champion) and No. 25 Tesoro.

Southeast

Parkview and Columbus remain in the top two spots as both had solid showing at the National High School Invitational and continued to play well back in the Peach State. Pelham (AL) is up to No. 3, followed by Woodward Academy (GA), and Oak Grove (MS).

Six new teams are in this week’s rankings from No. 20-No.25. In order, they are, South Effingham (GA), Grayson (GA), Collierville (TN), Sam Houston (LA), Houston (TN), and Little Rock Catholic (AR).

Southwest

Bishop Gorman returned to dominance after arriving back in the southwest, now sitting at 12-2 with their only two losses coming at the loaded NHSI tournament.

The No. 2 and No. 3 spots belong to the state of Utah, with Bingham ahead of Spanish Fork by a narrow margin thanks to a head to head victory.

There has been a lot of parity within Arizona and no team has emerged as a clear cut favorite yet. Brophy Prep currently holds the top spot in the state, at No. 4.

New Mexico's top ranked team is now perennial 5A powerhouse La Cueva, as the Bears climb to No. 6 with a 14-1 start to the season. They are joined in the top ten by Piedra Vista, who hasn't lost a game within the state of New Mexico since opening weekend and sit at 19-3.

New addtions this week include: No. 18 Sierra Vista (NV), No. 19 Gilbert (AZ), No. 22 Pleasant Grove (UT) and No. 24 Coronado (NV).

Texahoma

The top two spots continued to remain unchanged, as they have the entire season. Klein Collins suffered a pair of losses this week, snapping a 17 game win streak and allowing Owasso (OK) to leap frog them for the No. 3 spot.

Seven Lakes maintains it's spot at No. 5 while continuing to take care of business at 20-2. The biggest climb of the week was St.Pius X (TX) out of TAPPS 5A, who jumped eight spots to No. 10 this week. Their rival St. Thomas Carholic (TX) re-enters the rankings at No. 14 this week, in spite of seeing their four game win streak snapped by St. Pius in a 1-0 affair.

New additions this week include: No.14 St. Thomas Catholic (TX), No. 21 Santa Fe (TX), No. 22 Stillwater and No. 25 Southlake Carroll.
