Arizona needs to find a way to piece things together down the stretch.

The Wildcats entered the season with high hopes, some even expecting them to reach the College World Series. But instead of proving to be a legitimate Pac-10 contender, the Wildcats quickly are becoming a team just hoping to reach the NCAA postseason.

UA seemed to be in good shape when it won a series against California a few weeks ago. However, it has since dropped series to UCLA and Oregon to fall to seventh in the Pac-10 with a 6-9 league record. The Wildcats are 24-15 overall and sitting at 36 in the latest RPI.

Though Arizona isn’t yet in danger of missing the postseason, it desperately needs to take care of business down the stretch with conference series remaining against USC, Washington State, Stanford and Washington.

The Wildcats dropped out of our rankings this week, but still are on the cusp of the rankings in addition to 24 other teams.

We take an in-depth look at 25 teams to watch as the week progresses.
