East Carolina isn’t interested in having a rebuilding year.

The Pirates entered the season with some question marks after losing several key hitters from last year’s club. But with much of their pitching staff still intact, the Pirates have been a pleasant surprise so far this season.

ECU lost a hard-fought series to red-hot Virginia a couple of weeks ago, but responded last week with a home series win over Pepperdine.

The Pirates didn’t enter the Perfect Game Top 25 rankings this week, but are one of 25 teams to watch the rest of the week.
