Top Prospect List
1.) Andre Real, MIF, Orange Lutheran HS, CA-Andre had the highlight of the showcase going deep in batting practice over the 375 foot sign in left field. To go along with his big-time hitting tools, Andre also posted the fastest sixty time at 7.05. Players with Andre’s raw tools don’t come along to often and he should be one of the top players in his class over the next few years.
2.) Ron Miller, 3B, Crenshaw HS, CA-When looking ahead several years, it could be easy to see Ron Miller as one of the top power hitters in his draft class. Extremely strong for his age, Ron produces serious bat speed already and does a good job of staying inside the baseball. He has soft hands at third base and also flashed the strongest infield arm at the showcase.
3.) Rio Ruiz, RHP, Bishop Amat HS, CA-The top pitching prospect at the showcase, Rio has the makings of one of the top power arms in his class. His arm is quick and works well and he overmatched hitters with a fastball that reached 84. Don’t be surprised to see Rio throwing in the 90’s at some point. While he didn’t throw his off-speed pitches often, Rio shows the makings of a very solid curveball and change-up.
4.) Timothy Lopes, MIF, Valencia HS, CA-One of several impressive infield prospects at the showcase, Timothy’s raw hitting tools will sit near the top of his class. He is smooth defensively and should have no problem staying in the middle infield.
5.) Ruben Ybarra, C, Riverside Poly HS, CA-While Ruben did not take part in any of the defensive workouts, he showed plenty to be excited about at the plate. He produces very good bat speed for his age and has big raw power potential.
6.) Ty Moore, IF/RHP, Mater Dei HS, CA-A talented two-way prospect Ty projects very well as a power hitting lefthander or on the mound. He showed a smooth swing with good bat speed and hit the ball as consistently hard as any player during the games. On the mound Ty topped out at 82, but also flashed a devastating 10 to 4 curveball. His curveball already is already an MLB average pitch and should only get better as he throws harder.
7.) Connor Torres, SS, Beyer HS, CA-Another talented offensive player, Connor features the bat speed and overall hitting tools to be one of the top hitting prospects in his class. Connor is a versatile defender who showed the ability to stay in the middle infield, while also being able to get behind the plate.
8.) Art Moran-Vidrio, OF/LHP, Orange Lutheran HS, CA-A highest-level two-way prospect, Art has the tools to be a big-time outfielder or left-handed pitcher. He has a very sound hitting approach and a smooth left-handed swing that produces hard line-drive contact consistently. On the mound, Art has a smooth and easy arm action that produced a fastball up to 80 and he has a good overall feel for pitching.
9.) Dallas Bacon, MIF, Hart HS, CA-The bat really sticks out for Dallas, who has the tools to be one of the best hitters in his class. Dallas produces great bat speed for his age and has very quick hands. The ball jumps off Dallas’ bat and he could eventually show at least MLB average hitting ability and power.
10.) Chaneng Varela, SS, Chino HS, CA-A very solid all-around player, Chaneng has everything you look for in a shortstop. He is very sound defensively and his arm strength projects very well down the road. Offensively, Chaneng has a quick bat and plenty of hitting tools to work with. Chaneng also ran his fastball up to 80 and should attract the attention of many colleges down the road.
