It’s been 25 years since the Alaska League could legitimately lay claim to being the nation’s premier summer league, much as it was able to do for the better part of two decades. That honor now belongs to the Cape Cod League and, if anything, the Alaska League has struggled in recent years just to maintain its place in the second tier.
