A total of 17 Aflac All-Americans were among the 200 or so top prospects in Long Beach August 4-10 for the 23rd annual Area Code Games. Instead of mixing in this elite group with the rest of the 2010 players, we’d thought we’d split them off for individual comment.
As might be expected at this late date in the summer, some of the players were noticeably tired from where we’ve seen them earlier in the summer. Hopefully they will all be able to get a few days of rest before the Aflac events and nationally televised game in San Diego August 14-16.
The rankings below reflect strictly each player’s performance at the Area Codes, not an overall prospect ranking. As noted, some players were noticeably tired (Tony Wolters, Justin O’Conner) or injured (Kellen Sweeney) or made a limited appearance (Austin Wilson).
