2016 13u Super 25 National Championship Preview

Notice: This tournament is absolutely stacked!  25 teams will duke it out and vie to become this year's Super 25 National Champion.  But let me tell you something - it will not be easy.  The winner of this tournament will truly be an elite team and must play fantastic baseball game in and game out.  It will take a full team effort, smart play, and a little luck to take home this title.  Whichever team wins will have a trophy they can be extremely proud of.

Pool A

 Projected Pool Winner:  Chain National

This 13u version of Chain has been a solid group for the last couple of years.  Led on the mound and at the plate by Branson Owens, Chain National has high hopes coming into the week.  They also come with a versatile offense, with the speedy Daniel Smith and the powerful lefty Dakota Britt.

Top Contenders:  Long Island Titans and Elite Squad South

Pool B

Projected Pool Winner:  North Texas Banditos – Autrey

With an 80-5 overall record in 2015 and the returning of key players from last year's 12u Super 25 National Championship, the North Texas Banditos are viewing this tournament as one they can win.  Last year’s tournament MVP Westin Walls, along with All Tournament teamers Tyler Collins and Jake Danna, look to repeat their success in this years event.   This battle tested Banditos team is used to playing in high-pressure situations, and that should come in handy throughout the course of this week.

Top Contender:  6-4-3 DP Cougars Sterling

Pool C

Projected Pool Winner:  Evoshield Canes – Pate

Talk about a physically imposing team, and the Evoshield Canes-Pate team comes to mind.  With 6 players over 6 feet tall and a handful of great athletes, this team certainly contains the tools to win.  Blake McCain could be one of the faster players in the tournament and posses some extra base hit pop, with Tyler Burgess and Timothy Pate captaining the defense at Shortstop and Catcher respectively.

Top Contender:  Elite Gamers RWB Booth

Pool D

 Projected Pool Winner:  Arkansas Express

The Arkansas Express is coming into this Championship off of a huge North Texas Regional win in which they posted a 6-0 record en route to the title.  It is worth mentioning they defeated the Pool B projected winners in that finals game by 1 run, so if both of these teams advance to the playoffs, look for another great game between them. Markevian Hence will look to repeat his success in Ft Myers after being named the Regional MVP back in April's regional.

Top Contender:  Houston Heat

Pool E

 Projected Pool Winner:  The Dirtbags

This is a very deep team for the 13u age group, and that depth should help The Dirtbags see some success in Ft Myers.  Their leader and shortstop, Austin St. Laurent, is the catalyst and offensive spark, as well as their defensive commander up the middle.  Carson Kelly and Jaeger Prisk can shut teams down on the mound, and this team as a whole will play the necessary defense behind them to win games.  After a tough loss in their North Carolina Super Qualifier, I see The Dirtbags bouncing back nicely in the championship.

Top Contender: East Coast Clippers
