Pool A

Projected Winner:  BC Phenom Elite

It would be extremely difficult to pick anyone other than the defending champs.  Not only have they proven they can win this type of tournament, but they have not slowed down a bit during the 2016 calendar season.   Shortstop Jimmy Romano and pitcher Chris Campanella will lead the charge for the BC Phenom, and will get tons of help from the supporting cast including last years Super 25 MVP Liam Lombardi.  This team has a very deep lineup and rotation, and will be a tough matchup against whomever they face.

Top Finishers:  Dallas Tigers – Polk

The 12u North Texas Regional Champs went 5-0 en route to their regional championship this past April.  What’s even more impressive than the team’s perfect record is the fact that they posted 4 shutouts, including a 7-0 win in the finals.  A team with that type of capability to limit runs has to be viewed as dangerous in this type of format.

Dark Horse:  IBAHS Knights

Teams that come to PG events from Puerto Rico always manage a good showing, and this week should be no different for the Knights.  Simply put, this team has won games all year and will look to do the same here in Ft Myers.

Pool B

Projected Winner:  Ironmen Prime

The Ironmen Prime’s season to date has been nothing short of masterful.  With a record of 61-3, a national championship already under their belt, and 2 wins at the Midwest and Ohio Valley Regional Qualifiers, this Indiana based team is a heavy favorite to take the pool and be in the running for yet another tournament win.  Zak York will be the ace for the Ironmen, and will get plenty of run support from players like Corbin Dickerson and Nathan Disney.  With 5 players batting over .500, the Ironmen Prime will look to blast their way to a Super25 National Championship.

Top Finishers:  East Cobb Astros

With such a rich history of winning Perfect Game events and National Championships, the East Cobb Astros always put themselves in a position to win titles.  With a 6-0 tournament record in Lakepoint to earn the bid to this event, this Astros team should be no different than their co-players of the past and be in contention until the very end.

Pool C

Projected Winner:  Evoshield Canes – Schuldt

In what could be the most talented pool in this year’s event, this 12u Evoshield Canes team looks to follow in the footsteps of their older teammates and make a run for the title.   After a dominant showing in the North Carolina Super Qualifier, this team is well balanced and explosive, showing all of the traits necessary to be a champion.   Boone Cartee and Joshua Seth Christmas will supply plenty of offense, with Carter Boyd providing the stopper mentality on the mound.

Top Finishers:  Wilson MVP National

Entering 2016 as a top ranked team in the country, Wilson MVP National is hungry to be back on top at a national tournament.  Plagued by injuries and inconsistent play, Wilson MVP has been playing average ball as of late but is always capable of getting hot.  With a deep pitching staff that includes Jakob Wright, the effective Mikiah Negrate, and power arms Izeah Muniz and Mason Neville, they have the potential to keep games low scoring and give themselves a chance.  With a chip on their shoulder and something to prove, Wilson MVP National cannot be overlooked.

Dark Horse:  Legends Prospects

A perennial Northeast powerhouse, the Legends Prospects are coming into the National Championship after an impressive 6-0 New England Regional title.  This team is perfectly built for this type of tournament, limiting the runs allowed and playing fundamentally sound.  This Massachusetts based team could surprise a lot of people this week.
