2016 Top Prospects

Tyler Bowen  SS - 2016 - Edmond, OK
Ohlone College

Bowen is an unsigned 2016 graduated senior but he definitely has the tools to play at the college level. He's a switch-hitter with quick hands and a sound, simple high average approach from the right side. Defensively, he can play all over the field and looked good both in the middle infield and behind the plate. He's also an excellent student, so colleges take note!

2017 Top Prospects

Casey Opitz  C - 2017 - Centennial, CO
Arkansas

Opitz is an outstanding defensive catcher with a strong arm and lots of quick twitch athleticism behind the plate. Offensively, he's a switch-hitter who graded out better right handed in batting practice but had some very good at-bats left handed in the games.

Jordan Stubbings  C - 2017 - Parker, CO
Uncommitted

Stubbings is a big and strong athlete who has a short and strong right handed swing that will translate very well to the next level. He's a top level performer in the Colorado high school ranks and is going to hit at the college level as well.

Drake Davis  RHP - 2017 - Highlands Ranch, CO
Arizona State

Davis is a very athletic right handed pitcher who also showed next level tools in the outfield. He worked at 85-88 mph on the mound from an up tempo delivery and also threw a slider and change up.

Nicholas Israel  SS - 2017 - Henderson, NV
San Diego State

Aside from looking exactly like a smaller Clint Frazier, Israel stood out for his tightly wound athleticism and polished defensive tools in the middle infield. He's a switch-hitter who was outstanding in BP from the right side but we didn't get to see him as much in games from that side.

James Notary  RHP - 2017 - Westminster, CO
TCU

Notary is a 6-2/175 right hander with an over the top arm slot and a fastball that sat consistently at 86-88 mph for three innings. He gets good downer shape on his curveball when he stays on top of it.

Billy Cook  SS - 2017 - Monument, CO
Pepperdine

Cook is a quick twitch and agile athlete who runs a 6.78 sixty and shows very good speed and athleticism in the infield, although he'll probably end up at second base in the future. He has a nice balanced right handed swing and squared the ball up consistently.

Kaleb McCullough  RHP - 2017 - Edmond, OK
Oral Roberts/Northern Oklahoma College-ENID

McCullough is a nice athlete with a projectable 6-2/175 build and a loose arm, He has a smooth delivery on the mound and topped out at 86 mph with his fastball, with his low 70's curveball being his best pitch.

Jonah Jenkins  RHP - 2017 - Parker, CO
Dartmouth

Jenkins has a well rounded set of defensive and offensive tools and skills for a catcher. He showed especially well at the plate with his bat speed and power potential and showed versatility and athleticism on defense.

Jack Winkler  SS - 2017 - Littleton, CO
San Francisco

Winkler doesn't have a single stand out tool but just does everything well on the field. He's a 6.96 runner with a strong and rangy build that gives him present bat speed with an aggressive swing approach.

Jalen Saiz  RHP - 2017 - Highlands Ranch, CO
Shenandoah University

Saiz doesn't have a profile pitcher's body at 5-9/200 but he has a very loose arm and sat in the mid-80's with heavy sinking action and pounded the strike zone. He also threw a tight 75 mph curveball that is going to get outs at the next level.

Mason Speirs  C - 2017 - Westminster, CO
Iowa Western CC

Speirs is a very strong young catcher with nice one spot quickness behind the plate and a very strong throwing arm that produced a 1.82 pop time in drills. He has a simple inside swing approach at the plate that has more power there in the future.

2018 Top Prospects

Jordan Medina  C - 2018 - Lone Tree, CO
Northern Colorado

Medina is only listed at 6-0/185 but he is some kind of strong when he steps into the batter's box and showed easy right handed power with an aggressive pull and lift swing. His best defensive tool is his arm strength and he was even up to 85 mph on the mound.

Jack Baird  RHP - 2018 - Parker, CO
Pepperdine

Baird is a talented young athlete with a loose and projectable 6-4/180 build. He was up to 85 mph on the mound with good running action on his fastball and attacked hitters aggressively with the pitch. Baird's change up was a very good secondary offering and he also threw a slider.

Jake Heimlicher  OF - 2018 - Parker, CO
Pennsylvania

Heimlicher is a very interesting athlete at 6-4/195 with 6.69 speed in the sixty. He was one of the top performers at the plate in the games, driving the ball hard in multiple at-bats for extra base hits and showing nice barrel control in picking up some opposite field singles as well.

Dalton Chandler  RHP - 2018 - Lamar, CO
Cal State Northridge

Chandler is an extra big and strong 2018 with a strong right arm. He topped out at 84 mph this weekend and has been up to 87 mph at PG events in the past.

Brennen Dorighi  C - 2018 - Cherry Hills Village, CO
Wofford

Dorighi is a well built and very athletic catcher who plays the game with lots of energy. His flexibility and quickness behind the plate stands out defensively, while his strength and size give him notable left handed bat speed for a catcher.

Brody McCord  LHP - 2018 - Parker, CO
Colorado Mesa

McCord topped out at 82 mph but is only beginning to scratch his potential as far as velocity goes. The 6-3/170 lefty already has three solid off-speed pitches in a curveball, slider and change up that he has mature feel for and sound delivery with an easy arm action.

2019 Top Prospects

Derek Shaver  3B - 2019 - Grand Junction, CO
Wichita State

Shaver is a very impressive athlete for a 2019, with an outstanding 6-3/180 build. Despite his age he had one of the best present hitting/power tools at the event and hit the ball very hard with loud impact. He will likely end up as a strong armed third baseman as he physically matures.

Riley Cornelio  RHP - 2019 - Monument, CO
TCU

Cornelio has all the ingredients of a top level pitching prospect at a very young age. He topped out at 85 mph and has been higher this spring with a loose and projectable arm action and profile pitcher's build.

Justin Boyd  SS - 2019 - Parker, CO
Oregon State

Boyd only just finished his freshman year but already has verbally committed to Oregon State and has the tools and skills to back that up. He should be able to stay in the middle infield athletically but what really stood out was his potential as a hitter.

Dominic Tamez  C - 2019 - San Antonio, TX
Alabama/McLennan CC

We first saw Tamez at last year's Rocky Mountain Showcase as a very precocious 8th grader and he's got better since then. His tools stand out both offensively and defensively and he's going to be able to stay behind the plate athletically.

Mateo Martinez  C - 2019 - Wichita, KS
Uncommitted

Martinez has a very strong 6-1/180 build for a 2019 and is a very good athlete, especially for a catcher, and ran a 6.93 sixty. His right handed swing is long and strong with lots of power potential.

Tayler Aguilar  OF - 2019 - Evans, CO
Grand Canyon

Aguilar looks the part with a very athletic 6-0/175 build that is very projectable with some present strength. He has a strong left handed swing that is geared to pull the ball and pull it hard. he also showed nice instincts in centerfield and runs a 6.87 sixty.

Jett Hoggatt  OF - 2019 - Fort Collins, CO
Scottsdale CC

Hoggart is an extra strong and athletic 2019 who really showed well with the bat. He has lots of present bat speed, with quick hands and the strength to drive the ball hard when he squares it up. He's also a 7.0 runner with a strong outfield arm.

Geno Macias  OF - 2019 - Parker, CO
Air Force

Macias has a very strong right handed swing with very good present bat speed for a 2019. The ball jumps off the bat hard from a nice level line drive approach.

Elliot Pigati  LHP - 2019 - Lakewood, CO
Alvin CC

Pigati is a very polished pitcher for his age and shows potential plus command of three solid pitches in a low 80's fastball, a big breaking curveball and a sinking change up. He can throw any pitch at any count and frequently does.

Billy Pospisil  3B - 2019 - Arvada, CO
Uncommitted

Pospisil is a primary pitcher but we think he's got a significantly higher ceiling as a position player. He's a very good athlete with speed and strength and plays the game very aggressively. He also hit the ball hard almost every at-bat it seemed.
