TOP PITCHING MATCHUP SUNDAY APRIL 30th

Iowa?€™s Zach Von Tersch (Cedar Falls HS) and Wisconsin?€™s Tony Butler (Oak Creek HS) will hook up again for the second time this spring at Cedar Rapids Washington High School at 11:00 am Sunday morning, April 30.

The game, which is part of Perfect Game Iowa Spring League play, was scheduled to allow as many professional scouts, including cross checkers, to attend as possible.

This is the second time that Von Tersch, a 6-5 right hander signed with Georgia Tech, and Butler, a 6-7 left hander signed with Arkansas, have matched up this spring. Upwards of 30 scouts saw the two pitch in the 88-90 mph range the second weekend of April.

Von Tersch threw last weekend at the Perfect Game Spring Top Prospect Showcase in Cedar Rapids, touching 90 mph while pitching consistently at 88-89 for three innings. He?€™s throwing a low 80?€™s slider that he didn?€™t have last fall and summer but still has his hard mid 70?€™s curveball. Butler was not able to attend the showcase because of a prior commitment.

High schools in Iowa and much of Wisconsin play high school baseball in the Summer as opposed to the Spring. Perfect Game runs Spring Leagues in both states to enable players to prepare for their high school seasons and to showcase the top talent for the pro scouts and college recruiters.
