Louisville Slugger joins the Spring

Matt Rodriguez

EMERSON, Ga. – Perfect Game’s new tournament series, PG Spring Swing, is pleased to announce a partnership with Louisville Slugger to host four weeks of competitive high school baseball tournaments under the name ‘Louisville Slugger Select Classic’. The Louisville Slugger Select Classic will take place March 16-21, March 23-28, March 30-April 4, April 6-11 at the LakePoint Sports Complex, the new #1 destination in the country for elite baseball action.

Each week will consist of 16 premier high school baseball teams from around the country competing in a single elimination bracket, with a four game guarantee for each participating school.

PG Spring Swing Director Kevin Herlihy is excited to see some of the most competitive high school baseball programs compete in the inaugural event and feels fortunate to have Louisville Slugger, the #1 name in the history of hitting, on board.

Herlihy, a big advocate for the importance of an impacting social media presence, decided to pursue the idea of a partnership with Louisville Slugger because of what they bring to the sports marketing and social media world.

“Louisville Slugger is enjoying a huge resurgence of the brand and have built a strong, loyal base of fans that we know will help Perfect Game make this event an immediate success,” said Herlihy.

If playing against some of the best high school teams in the country wasn’t incentive enough, Louisville Slugger has agreed to provide each participating team with a personalized coach’s bag, a personalized fungo, a ‘swag’ bag for players, and four BBCOR bats per team.

“We want every team to feel like they are part of the Louisville Slugger family and intend to roll out the red carpet while they are at LakePoint, and well beyond,” said Kyle Schlegel, Vice President of Marketing for Louisville Slugger.

PG Spring Swing’s partnership with Louisville Slugger brings much promise to the future success of the tournament series as Perfect Game prepares for Spring Swing’s inaugural season.
