With a big, hulking 6-foot-8, 265-pound frame, Montes de Oca uses his size extremely well creating excellent leverage to throw on a downhill plane to opposing batters with the ability to generate easy mid- to upper-90s heat. He profiles as a prototypical workhorse given his size and stuff, with the ability to sustain his impact velocity deep into games. Montes de Oca sustained an elbow injury in the spring causing him to miss most of his junior season, and while he will not pitch in the Classic, he is clearly one of the top prospects in the Class of 2014.
