Toussaint is a native of Haiti and had never played organized baseball until four years ago when a fellow soccer playing friend challenged him to go out for his team. Toussaint’s natural athletic ability as both a strong armed pitcher and speedy center fielder was immediately obvious, and he punctuated his development by striking out 18 hitters in six innings at the WWBA World Championship last October. Toussaint’s fastball has been clocked at up to 98 mph but his best pitch is a knee-buckling curveball that seems to defy the laws of physics.
