Last week Trevor Plouffe became the latest former Aflac All American to play in the Major Leagues. The Twins called up Plouffe from AAA Rochester and he has gone 4 for 12 (.333) so far with the Twins. Plouffe played in the very first Aflac Game held in Ft Myers Florida in 2003.  The current total of former Aflac All Americans who have made their Major League debut stands at 26 and counting.  This number will grow much larger as 65 former Aflac Players have been drafted in the first round and many others were second round picks.  Remember the Aflac All American game is only seven years old and typically it will take 5 years for most high school picks to make the Big Leagues.  So the number is going to grow fast over the next few years.

A couple other former Aflac players who have debuted with a lot of early success in Major league Baseball this season are Ike Davis with the Mets, Jason Heyward with the Braves and Austin Jackson with Tigers. More will be getting the call during the 2010 season.

Here is the current list of Aflac All Americans who have made their Big League debut.
