RANKINGS & REPORTS BY BLAINE CLEMMENS
1. Matt Mitchell, rhp, Barstow (Calif. ) HS
Strong bodied 6-foot-3, 205 pound right-hander has a lively 88-90 mph fastball that we have seen up to 92. Shows feel of his curveball and change-up. His arm works well, giving him a chance to pitch in the low 90s soon.
2. Matt Lujan, lhp, St. Mary’s HS, Stockton, Calif.
Everything out of this 6-foot-1, 200-pound lefty’s hand moves. His fastball was 85-88. His curveball, slider, and cutter all have hard, late action, and tight spin. Oh, and the change-up is a plus pitch too. He has pitchability and moxie too.
3. Drew Hillman, 3b, El Toro HS, Lake Forest, Calif.
Hillman (6-foot-0, R/R) has a skill set that is prototypical for a power hitting, slick fielding 3rd baseman. He showed a “hit first”, aggressive approach, with easy power. His swing is explosive yet controlled. He is also a plus defender.
4. Tyler Albright, c, Wilson HS, Long Beach, Calif.
Long and athletically built at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, Albright showed all the tools of a frontline catcher. He is agile, can catch-throw, has a strong arm, is an excellent receiver, and he hits to all fields, showing good power potential.
5. Bryson Rahier, c, Cajon HS, San Bernardino, Calif.
A switch-hitter, he has power from the left side and an easy stroke. Did not see the RH swing. Rahier (6-foot-2, 185-pounds) is an athlete with good catch-throw skills. He has a power arm that tracks on line and receives and blocks well.
6. Randy Yard, rhp, Palm Desert (CA) HS
The lean bodied 6-foot-0, 160-pound righty dazzled with his three pitch mix, feel, and quick arm. He pitched at 86-88 with command. Both his curveball and change-up are thrown with excellent arm speed, have depth and late action.
7. Jake Hovis, of, Hart HS, Stevenson Ranch, Calif.
Hovis (6-foot-2, R/R) is an explosive, athletic player with a high ceiling. He has plus bat speed and a strong, quick arm that plays in center or right. He is an aggressive hitter with strong hands and showed power potential to all fields.
8. Derek Eligio, of-inf, Esperanza HS, Yorba Linda, Calif.
Eligio (6-foot-2, R/R) is polished and versatile, with a high ceiling. His outfield instincts are good and his gap to gap line drive stroke plays everywhere. With the ease of his swing and the way the ball jumps off his bat, the power is coming.
9. Dennis Walker, of-1b, Eastlake HS, Chula Vista, Calif.
Walker (6-foot-4, L/R) has a body that will keep filling out and an easy swing that suggests he is going to hit for power. Right now his swing is a smooth line drive stroke, with carry. His arm plays at either corner, as does his bat.
10a. Kevin Armijo, 3b, Mater Dei HS, Corona, Calif.
Armijo (6-foot-0, R/R) has an easy swing, good timing, and strong hands. He has present day power and more in the future. His hitting approach is excellent and he hits with authority to all fields. At 3B he has soft hands and a strong arm.
10b. Michael Beltran, mif, St. John Bosco HS, Lakewood, Calif.
Beltran (6-foot-0, R/R) is a polished player with quality tools. Defensively he showed soft hands, a quick arm, and easy actions. Offensively he showed a quick bat, and short, line drive stroke. He runs well and can steal bases.

Taylor Gelbrich, c, St. Monica HS, Los Angeles, Calif.
An offensive catcher, Gelbrich (6-foot-1, R/R) repeatedly banged the ball in the gap with authority. He also showed hands and feet that work behind the plate.
Michael Guglielmo, rhp, Acalanes HS, Lafayette, Calif.
Lanky right-hander with a sneaky mid-80s fastball and an “out-pitch” quality curveball, not to mention a good slider. Has moxie and fields his position well.
Anthony Lopez, 1b, Monte Vista HS, San Diego, Calif.
Smooth swinging and slick fielding, Lopez (L/L) looks to have a full package. His power is generated with an easy swing and as he develops better timing, look out.
Kevin Lovelace, ss-inf, San Pasqual HS, Escondido, Calif.
Athletic player that can play any infield spot, and play well. Lovelace (R/R) has feel for the game and plays confidently. His bat is quick and his power will come.
Dylan Nasiatka, c, Stockdale HS, Bakersfield, Calif.
Nasiatka (R/R) showed the type of arm strength and pop in the bat that profile well at the catcher position. He is athletic behind the plate with good catch-throw skills.
Jay Richards, mif, Bellarmine Prep, Gig Harbor, Wash.
To simply say Richards (R/R) is a “baseball rat” might suggest he lacks tools. He can flat out hit and his feel for the defensive side of the game is very good.
Graham Rodrigez, lhp, Bishop O’Dowd HS, Alameda, Calif.
Rodriguez is a talented lefty with feel for pitching and a quality three pitch mix. He located all his pitches well, with movement on all of them. His arm works easily.
Matthew Serret, of-rhp, Hesperia (Calif. ) HS
The ahletic Serret (5-foot-11, R/R) has a lively line drive stroke and feel for hitting. He is an athletic outfielder with a strong, accurate arm. Excellent baserunner too.
Cameron Tanseco, rhp, Los Alamitos (Calif. ) HS
The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder had the most projectable arm. He pitched at 88-89 with relative ease and showed feel of his change-up. His arm works clean and easily.
Stephen Traumann, rhp, El Molino HS, Forestville, Calif.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound righty has a power build and a strong arm to match. He touched up to 88 with his heavy sinker and showed usable secondary stuff.
Blaine Washington, ss-inf, Chaparral HS, Temecula, Calif.
Lean and athletic, Washington ’s (6-foot-1, L/R) body and tools project well. He plays easy in the field and has a smooth, line drive stroke, hitting to all fields.

Strong build at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, Bradshaw showed arm strength with a fastball up to 84 mph and good movement on his change-up. Pretty easy arm.
Jack Schellin, c, Ayala HS, Chino Hills, Calif.
Strong bodied and well built for a catcher, Schellin (5-foot-10, 185-pounds, R/R) showed some pop in the bat, an accurate arm, and developing catch-throw skills.
Matt Sisto, rhp, Cypress HS, Anaheim, Calif.
Strong build at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, Bradshaw showed arm strength with a fastball up to 84 mph and good movement on his change-up. Pretty easy arm.
