Top Prospect List
Kevin Hahn (2009), 1B-P, Stratford HS, Houston, TX: Kevin is a solid two way player who has good strength and can swing the bat. He was an even bigger prospect on the mound where he topped out at 85 with a tight curveball and a sinking changeup.
Tim Redden (2009), MIF, St Thomas Basilian Fathers, Cypress, TX: One of the smoothest defenders at the showcase. Redden has good instincts and has very good actions. He is a contact hitter who makes solid contact to all fields.
Matthew Graham (2009), RHP, Oak Ridge HS, Spring TX: One of the top players in the ’09 class. He has electric stuff and a fastball that tops out at 94. Matthew has a devastating curveball that is hard and tight and compliments his fastball extremely well. Should continue to dominate.
Evan Frazar (2009), SS-3B, St Pius X HS, Bellaire, TX: Evan is a physical specimen who has all the tools. He has a great arm (92 across the IF), runs extremely well (6.97 60), and has the bat to go along with it. He has legit power to all fields but is more of a line drive hitter.
Brennan Middleton (2009), SS-P-OF, Parkview Baptist HS, Baton Rouge, LA: Another slick fielding infielder who showed he can make all the plays. Middleton also showed off a strong arm by throwing 87 across the infield. He also has the bat to play at the next level.
Tomas Galvan (2009), MIF, Cypress Ridge HS, Houston, TX: Tomas is a solid infielder who swings the bat very well. He is quick on his feet and gets rid of the ball very quickly. He is very solid turning double plays and is very athletic.
Jacob Felts (2010), C-P-3B, Orangefield HS, Orange, TX: A very strong big frame perfect for a catcher. With his very solid catching mechanics he is very quick and his throws are strong and accurate. His bat helps him out as well as he is very aggressive and has some pop.
Alejandro Salas (2009), OF-SS-P, Burbank HS, San Antonio, TX: One of the most consistent athletes here. He showed off a strong arm from the OF (86), IF (83), and off the mound (83). He is very solid in the field at both positions. Salas knows how to pitch and has quality stuff.
Jacob Stewart (2009), OF, Rocky Mountain HS, Fort Collins, CO: What an athlete Stewart is. Great arm (89 from the OF) and runs very well (6.78 60) go along with his quick bat with power. He showed that he is one of the better athletes that we have seen.
Sam Hansen (2009), OF-IF-P, Midway HS, Waco, TX: A switch hitter who has bat speed and swung the bat very well. He has a very strong arm (87 from the outfield and 84 across the infield) which is very accurate with lots of carry.
Leon Whitmire (2009), MIF-3B-P, Channelview HS, Channelview, TX: Leon has a very athletic body with good actions in the field. He made some nice plays during the games. His bat is very playable with good bat speed and solid contact.
Corbin Bracken (2009), RHP-OF, St Michael’s Catholic Academy, Austin, TX: Corbin has an outstanding arm. He threw 88 from the outfield which seemed to wear him out a little for when he threw off the mound. He has a quick bat and makes solid contact as well.
Kenneth Frelow (2009), OF-P, Klein Oak HS, Tomball, TX: Athletic body that moves very well in the outfield. He has good speed (7.06 60) and a strong arm (84 from the outfield) that help him make outstanding plays. Good power is his swing. He blasted a home run during the game.
Andre Blum (2010), OF-P, Plano West HS, Plano, TX: Another athletic kid who has solid tools across the board. He showed a strong arm (85 from the outfield and 84 off the mound) as well as good speed (7.19 60). He centers the ball very well at the plate and drives the ball to the gaps.
Devin Dixon (2009), OF-P, Cy-Ridge HS, Houston, TX: Devin is an outstanding athlete who runs very well (6.82 60) and has an outstanding arm (84 from the outfield) with very good carry. He swings the bat very well and doesn’t seem to get fooled by much at all.
Max Muncy (2009), IF-OF, Keller HS, Keller, TX: A utility guy who swings the bat very well. Can play both infield and outfield very well and seems comfortable at both. He moves very well and is quick on his feet as well as being able to run well (7.13 60).
Chase McDowell (2009), OF-P-SS, A&M Consolidated HS, College Station, TX: Has a strong arm from the outfield (82) but showed even more off the mound (86). He has good command of all of his pitches and knows how to pitch.
Bryan Peters (2009), 3B-P, Rocky Mountain HS, Fort Collins, TX: Very solid third baseman who made some outstanding plays during the games. Showed off good arm strength as well by throwing 86 during the workout. Makes solid contact at the plate as well.
Andrew La Combe (2009), C, Southlake Carroll HS, Southlake, TX: Switch hitting catcher with power. Very solid catcher who blocks and receives very well. Has a very quick release with good arm strength. Consistently under 2.00 pop times.
Trevor Keele (2009), 1B-3B-P, Edgewood HS, Edgewood, TX: Big time power hitter. He looks to be a legitimate 4-5 hole hitter who will drive in runs on a consistent basis. Keele has the ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields.
Patrick Blizzard (2009), MIF-P, Strake Jesuit HS, Houston, TX: Patrick is a solid two way prospect. He handles the bat very well and drives the ball to all fields. He is very smooth in the field with a strong arm as well (84 across the infield). He really showed something on the mound where he topped out at 87 with his fastball.
Larry Rodriguez (2009), SS-P, Channelview HS, Channelview, TX: A switch hitting infielder with solid skills. He is very smooth in the field with an outstanding arm (89 across the IF). Top defensive player here. Also showed he can pitch with a 85 mph fastball and a nice tight curveball.
Christopher Minifee (2009), OF-P, Bellaire HS, Bellaire, TX: Very athletic ball player who has some raw tools. Very smooth in the outfield with a strong arm (84) and good carry on his throws. Minifee swing the bat very well with quick hands and is very short to the ball.
Seth Thompson (2009), OF, Lufkin HS, Diboll, TX: Seth runs like a deer (6.80 60) and has a very strong arm (84 from the outfield). He chases down the ball with no effort and gets great jumps. He also has a quick bat and looks to use his speed on the bases.
Stevyn Rivera (2009), C-3B-OF, Oak Ridge HS, Spring, TX: Rivera is a very solid catcher who blocks and receives well. He also has a lightning quick release with a strong arm. Popped a 1.92 during the workout. Has a quiet approach at the plate as well.
Connor Ryan (2009), 3B-1B, Houston Christian HS, Houston, TX: A big strong kid who has a good idea at the plate. He has tremendous power and drove a ball deep out of the park during the game. Is very smooth in the field and moves well around the bag.
