2017 Top Prospects

Harrison Francis  RHP - 2017 - Tallahassee, FL
Chipola College

Francis is a righthanded pitcher out of Florida who'll have to be monitored as the June draft approaches. He has the projectable frame scouts look for and is already up to 91 mph with command, a hard swing-and-miss downer type curveball and a changeup at 80 mph with present feel, all from the same arm slot.

Santis Sanchez  C - 2017 - Las Piedras, PR
Uncommitted

The top prospect coming our recent showcase in Puerto Rico, Sanchez turned in another big performance and is squarely on scout's radar. Built closer to 6-2/215, Sanchez has an absolute hose from behind the dish (88 mph throws) and interesting raw strength at the plate which is another big tool right now.

Dalton Wingo  OF - 2017 - Plant City, FL
University of Central Florida

Wingo had a very nice all around showcase, especially with his righthanded swing. A physical yet loose and athletic 6-2/190, the Central Florida commit showed a consistent swing throughout the weekend with solid pull side pop as well as feel for the barrel, picking up a few base knocks against live pitching.

Will Hardigree  C - 2017 - Auburn, GA
University of North Georgia

Hardigree has long been known for his abilities behind the plate and he again put those on display with a 1.83 pop time and 79 mph throwing arm. His bat is a tool that stood out in batting practice however with a simple and direct swing path, showing gap-to-gap strength and home run type pop to the pull side. He's committed to USC-Upstate.

Conner Nurse  RHP - 2017 - Davenport, FL
Seminole State College of Florida

Nurse knows how to use his 6-6/210 frame to his advantage and using an over-the-top release point he's able to create nice plane to his fastball which topped out at 90 mph. His curveball served as a true swing-and-miss offering with hammer depth at 78 mph as well as confidence in his changeup at 74 mph.

Bradford Jones  RHP - 2017 - Osprey, FL
Missouri

Jones, a Liberty commit, put his athleticism on display during couple of innings as he was able to not only repeat his delivery and quick arm action, but also commanded his fastball to both sides of the plate. He topped out at 90 mph with short life and showed sharp depth to an 11-5 curveball..

Niels Stone  RHP - 2017 - Naples, FL
Florida Gulf Coast

Stone was able to simply overpower opposing hitters on the mound with a fastball that bumped 91 mph from a quick right arm action that still projects for additional velocity. His curveball was a solid secondary pitch that featured two-plane life through the zone at 74 mph. He's a Florida Gulf Coast commit.

Francis Villaman  SS - 2017 - Orlando, FL
St. Johns River CC

Villaman is a Florida State commit who's already a well-known name after making the rounds on the summer circuit and the tools he showed then were on display this weekend too. He was plenty smooth defensively with solid footwork and big arm strength and also showed nice pop to his pull side with very quick hands.

Javeon Cody  OF - 2017 - Decatur, GA
Alvin CC

Cody stands out with his 6-3/195 build and has a very nice combination of speed (6.59 in the sixty), present strength and projection. He has very good bat speed from the right side and does a nice job of keeping his swing short to the ball with the ability to still drive it hard.

Josh Crouch  C - 2017 - Sebring, FL
State College of Florida

Crouch showed off nice tools all around the diamond as he threw 88 mph across diamond and was able to generate solid contact to the pull side. His hands and glove work show fluidity to them and the arm strength plays at third base, as does the bat with nice carry off the barrel. He's committed to Florida International.

Rashad Collymore  OF - 2017 - Mississauga, ON CAN
Indian River State College

Collymore is a quick twitch athlete who ran a 6.62 sixty and has run faster at other events he's played at in the past, speed that plays up because of how hard he plays the game. Collymore is also a switch-hitter with good bat speed from both sides but especially right handed.

Joab Gonzalez  SS - 2017 - Arecibo, PR
New Mexico Junior College

A primary shortstop out of Puerto Rico, Gonzalez had another good showing at a PG showcase and began by throwing an impressive 88 mph across the diamond. From the right side he does a nice job of creating extension to his swing with plenty of quickness to his hands and overall looseness to the swing.

Angel Gonzalez  OF - 2017 - Aguirre, PR
Alabama State

Gonzalez is a very projectable young Puerto Rican with strong running and throwing tools already, including a 6.7 sixty. He has a simple and very repeatable right handed swing that is going to hit for a high average now and should develop some more pop as he fills out his 6-2/170 frame.

Jose Yadiel Martinez  OF - 2017 - Aguas Buenas, PR
Cuyahoga CC

A young and very projectable Puerto Rican, Martinez has 6.5 speed in the 60 and a strong set of fundamentals both defensively in the outfield and at the plate. It's just a matter of his adding strength to his slender 6-0/156 frame before he makes a big jump as a prospect.

Ryan Velazquez  RHP - 2017 - Canovanas, PR
Jackson State/Galveston College

Velazquez is a big and burly 6-4/220 Puerto Rican with a very life arm. He worked in the 86-89 mph range with his fastball and there is plenty more velocity there as he physically matures and makes delivery adjustments to give him better direction to the plate.

Tyler Doanes  SS - 2017 - Fayetteville, GA
Indiana

Doanes has a strong athletic build and profiles well at second base defensively. His best tool is his strong and very direct right handed swing that will enable him to hit for a very high average with plenty of doubles and triples.

Elijah Gill  LHP - 2017 - Jacksonville, FL
East Carolina/St. Johns River CC

Just as he's done at plenty of other Perfect Game event, the Florida International commit showed his advanced pitchability and three pitch mix to make quick work on the mound. He topped out at 87 mph with big time running life and showed a strong feel for both his breaking ball and changeup.

Chase Patrick  RHP - 2017 - Ellaville, GA
Mississippi State

Patrick has a middle infielder's build and a fast right arm that produced an upper 80's fastball with outstanding life at times and big sweeping slider. He throws from an extended 3/4's release point and will drop his arm slot lower at times, creating lots of angle to the plate.

Vladimir Zavala  P - 2017 - Brandon, FL
Florida Atlantic

Zavala isn't especially physical for a pitcher at 6-0/165 but he does two things that always make a pitcher successful regardless of his size. He has three quality pitches in a fastball that reaches 89 mph, a mid-70's curveball and a nice change up and he pounds the strike zone with all three pitches.

Carlos Diaz  OF - 2017 - Caguas, PR
Broward CC

Diaz has outstanding speed that measured 6.37 in the sixty and which gives him huge range in centerfield. He's a left handed hitter who has some strength in his swing and can lace the ball to the gaps and run.

Kenneth Maisonet  OF - 2017 - San Sebastian, PR
Uncommitted

Maisonet was very solid and consistent in all facets of the game throughout the weekend, just he did earlier in the fall at the Caribbean showcase. He ran a 6.73 60-yard dash, threw 88 mph across the diamond and frequently found the barrel during both batting practice and live action, consistently creating hard line drive contact.

Myles McKisic  SS - 2017 - Delray Beach, FL
Pensacola State

McKisic is a veteran of numerous PG showcases and tournaments and stands out for his versatility and projection. He has 6.7 speed despite a long and lanky frame and can play all over the field defensively and has also been in the upper 80's off the mound.

Paul McIntosh  C - 2017 - Miami Gardens, FL
West Virginia/Motlow State CC

McIntosh, committed to Alabama State, has a very strong 6-0/220 build but is also very loose in his athletic actions. His right handed bat speed and power potential really stand out and he impacted the ball very consistently.

Daniel Harris IV  SS - 2017 - Stone Mountain, GA
Kentucky

Harris is an Eastern Kentucky commit who has a polished and strong right handed swing that translates well to hitting next level pitching. He profiles best at second base at the next level and has soft hands and a quick release on defense.

2018 Top Prospects

Nicholas Daniels  RHP - 2018 - Dunedin, FL
St. Johns River CC

Daniels took a loud round of batting practice from the right side but once he took the mound he showed where he future will be. At 6-4/185 Daniels more than looks the part as he projects to throw a good tick harder than his present 88 mph fastball and possesses two different breaking balls, both with late bite and advanced feel. He's a Florida International commit.

Kevin Vargas  SS - 2018 - Las Mareas de Salinas, PR
Florida International

Vargas is a 6-2/177 shortstop who shows all the actions and athleticism to stay up the middle at the premium position for the foreseeable future. He posted a 6.83 60-yard and threw an impressive 90 mph across the diamond with big time carry and accuracy out of the hand. He's a Florida International commit.

2019 Top Prospects

Cesar Valero  SS - 2019 - Calgary, AB CAN
Oregon State

The youngest player from North America in attendance, Valero more than held his own and stood out both in drills and live action. Uncommitted, Valero showed nice defensive skills up the middle with soft hands, as well as a short, compact stroke from the right side with present bat speed.

Free Agents Top Prospects

Estanli Castillo Abad  OF - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, NC DOM

Castillo's display in batting practice was nothing short of amazing as the recently turned 15 year old made Terry Park Stadium look small, a feat very few can do. He possesses very easy plus bat speed and raw power, though the overall balance and ability to repeat his swing is just as noteworthy. Eligible to sign in 2018.

Eric Taniguchi Pardinho  RHP - Free Agents - Bastos, SP BRA

Pardinho made the trip from Brazil for just his second appearance in the USA and he certainly lived up to the high expectations. Though he just turned 16 years old, Pardinho appears to be one of the top J2 arms thanks to his + smooth, repeatable delivery and advanced command to go along with his 90-93 mph fastball and sharp breaking 12-6 curveball at 79 mph.

Davis Tavarez  OF - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, SD DOM

There's a lot to like from the 6-2/190 Dominican Republic native, who we're told is a current Free Agent. His arm strength is a standout tool with the top outfield throw of 96 mph with plus carry though is bat was just as loud hitting hard line drive home runs to the pull side with an easy and fluid swing. He also hit 90 mph on the mound.

Eddy Jean  RHP - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, NC DOM

Using a rather simple delivery jean was able to fill up the strike zone and generate solid plane and life to his fastball, topping out at 88 mph and maintained it well. He missed plenty of bats with his fastball and showed a solid feel for his changeup at 78 mph with late fading life from a similar release point.

Widimer Juaquin Aquino  3B - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, NC DOM

Yet another young talent who made the trip from the Dominican Republic, Juaquin Aquino stands out for his plus athletic 6-1/185 as well as his overall toolset. His righthanded swing is perhaps his loudest tool though as there's both fluidity and looseness with big power to his pull side. He also threw an impressive 90 mph across the diamond with quick footwork.

Miguel Angel Hichez  OF - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, NC DOM

Hichez showed off a bevy of tools throughout the weekend and with those tools came the advanced athleticism to match. He's listed at 6-2/184 and showed strong, accurate throws with plenty of carry as well as nice line drive contact with extension and leverage to his righthanded swing.

Juan Pie  OF - Free Agents - Santa Domingo, NC DOM

Pie more than looks the part physically and he performed well on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. He's a lefthanded hitter with a full swing path and looseness to his hands and he's able to create nice launch with hard jump to the pull side. He was also up to 88 mph from the outfield with a quick arm and plenty of carry out of the hand.

Carlos De Los Santos  RHP - Free Agents - San Juan De La Maguana, JU DOM

De Los Santos showed a quality fastball that topped out at 88 mph with steady downhill plane and short running life to the arm side. He still projects physically which should add additional velocity and he already shows comfort in throwing a quality changeup in the upper-70s with late life.

Leyber Hernandez  RHP - Free Agents - La Guaira, VA VEN

Hernandez grew stronger with each passing inning, eventually bumping up to 87 mph and showing similar velocity out of the stretch thanks to quick right arm. He mixed in a curveball in the low-70s throughout his time on the mound with 11-5 shape and short depth down in the zone.

Carlos Sanchez  OF - Free Agents - , SD DOM

Sanchez is a long and lean 6-4/190 Dominican who really impressed with his offensive potential both in batting practice and in taking consistent quality at-bats in the games. He has big power potential when he turns on the ball but also showed the ability to shorten up and drive the ball to the opposite field gap.
