2018 Top Prospects

Austin Kretzschmar  SS - 2018 - La Mesa, CA
Stanford

Kretzschmar showed highly advanced defensive actions in the middle infield with range to both sides, easy footwork, and clean hands; also throwing 82 MPH across the diamond. He also swings the bat with lots of intent and shows good bat speed and raw pop.

Connor Chapman  3B - 2018 - Anaheim, CA
Uncommitted

Chapman showed well on the mound and with the bat, working 80-84 MPH with his fastball downhill with plane to both sides of the plate in addition to a well-commanded curveball. He also showed a nicely lofted swing plane with good bat speed that produces quality power.

Mason Eng  C - 2018 - San Jose, CA
UC Santa Barbara

Eng showed very well both with the bat and behind the plate. He's very quick-twitch, with easy actions behind the plate and advanced quickness into his catch-and-throw skills, where he popped 1.93 seconds; and he also showed a simple line drive swing when hitting that resulted in consistently squared-up contact.

Oliver Hicks  LHP - 2018 - San Luis Obispo, CA
Swarthmore College

Hicks showed some seriously advanced pitchability on the mound, commanding his trio of pitches all over the strike zone and attacking hitters. He worked 77-81 MPH with his fastball, and also showed pretty solid bat-to-ball skills when hitting, keeping his hands inside and hitting the ball hard.

Aaron Treloar  3B - 2018 - Pasadena, CA
Point Loma Nazarene

Treloar showed consistent strength and bat speed when hitting, taking a very loud round of batting practice and continuing to do so in game. He stays committed to the middle of the field and creates good bat speed with lots of lift, driving the ball into the air consistently with projectable power.

2019 Top Prospects

Caiden Matheny  OF - 2019 - Murrieta, CA
University of Central Florida

Matheny was extremely impressive across all facets, running a 6.77 second 60 yard dash, showing extremely smooth actions with athleticism in the infield and an 84 MPH arm. He also took one of the best BP's of the event, stroking the ball consistently with good jump off the barrel. He also worked up to 84 MPH on the mound with lots of arm speed and projection.

Alexander Hunter  RHP - 2019 - Bakersfield, CA
Uncommitted

Hunter had a solid outing on the mound for the Red team in this event, working 79-83 MPH with his fastball with good lower half drive to the plate. He mixed in a 12/6 shaped curveball with good late depth, and consistently produced swings-and-misses on his pair of pitches.

William Coquillard  RHP - 2019 - Pacific Palisades, CA
Georgia Tech

The XL-framed, highly-projectable Coquillard showed an easy arm stroke that produced fastballs reaching 80 MPH and projecting for much more, controlling his body pretty well for his length on the mound. He also showed a tight slider and fading changeup; giving him a full arsenal.

Charlie Adamson  RHP - 2019 - Malibu, CA
UC Santa Barbara

Adamson has an extremely projectable frame, one that is easy to say will be capable of producing more velocity in the future than the present 78-82 MPH fastballs he throws when on the mound. He showed good command as well as feel to spin a slider; in addition to quality bat speed at the plate with good intent in his swing and big time power projection with added strength.

Liam O'Connor  OF - 2019 - Dana Point, CA
Uncommitted

O'Connor really stood out in the games for his speed (clocked at 6.93 seconds in the 60 yard dash) and pure bat-to-ball skills, which he employs with a compact, line drive swing plane that is capable of producing hard contact all over the field, and his speed helps him on the bases as well.

Justin Long  RHP - 2019 - Chino Hills, CA
Uncommitted

Long showed quality arm strength when he stepped onto the mound, working 78-82 MPH with his fastball, highlighted by some arm side life and a smooth arm action. He also showed a big-breaking, deep curveball that projects well with continued reps.

Ishmael Burton  OF - 2019 - Elk Grove, CA
Uncommitted

Burton showed some of the smoother and more athletic outfield actions of the event, with graceful footwork to the ball and clean actions at it, maintaining his momentum and balance through the ball and showing off a strong arm up to 83 MPH when throwing back into the infield.

George Christison  OF - 2019 - Vacaville, CA
Azusa Pacific

Christison showed easy athleticism and repeatability throughout his actions in the outfield, where he moved well to the ball while maintaining balance and lightness on his feet; he also showed very quality bat speed and hand quickness when hitting, resulting in lots of hard line drive contact off his barrel.

2020 Top Prospects

Kevin Sim  3B - 2020 - San Diego, CA
San Diego

Sim showed well across all parts of the game, showing quality bat speed when hitting with leverage out front and good strength consistently. He also worked up to 80 MPH on the mound with heavy, sinking life on the fastball, throwing strikes consistently.

Uday Narottam  LHP - 2020 - South San Francisco, CA
Harvard

Narottam showed quality feel for the mound and the outfield, working 75-78 MPH on the mound with very consistent command, hiding the ball well and then throwing consistent strikes, really challenging hitters and showing a quality changeup as well. He also hosed a base runner at 3rd base from right field, a real nice play.

Jake Clark  LHP - 2020 - Calabasas, CA
Fordham

Clark showed some of the better raw hitting tools of the event, consistently getting his barrel out front and squaring the ball up, using a line drive approach to get to all fields. He'll continue to drive the ball more and more as he develops, and he showed good footwork at 1st base as well.
