2016 Top Prospects

Alvaro Valdez  OF - 2016 - Melbourne, FL
Reinhardt University/Eastern Florida State

One of the highest-ceiling players at the event, Valdez has shown significant tools in the past and continued to do so here. With impressive physicality, Valdez is very strong and that strength parlays into his game in the form of above average raw power and arm strength. He's an intriguing corner outfielder prospect on the national level.

Will West  RHP - 2016 - Niceville, FL
Uncommitted

Outstanding physical projection with advanced arm strength and pitchability. Long and lean build, shows clean mechanics on the mound with fastball that got into mid 80's and will certainly add more velocity as he continues to physically mature. Also showed well with the bat, doing a good job getting on plane with his swing and showing power to both gaps with more to come.

Bryce O'Brien  C - 2016 - Woodstock, GA
Chattahoochee Valley CC

Showed good rhythm and tempo on the mound with projectable arm speed, staying online through his delivery into release and overall showed quality mechanics. Fastball worked 82-85 and touched 86 with solid life to the arm side; and complemented that fastball with an advanced changeup that sinks/runs to go along with a sweeping curveball.

Alec Tauro  1B - 2016 - Melrose, MA
Uncommitted

Great frame and size complete with advanced strength; worked 81-84 and touched 85 on the mound with good life that explodes at the plate. Arm is quick and works well for the most part, showed feel for both curveball and change as quality secondary offerings.

Gavin Sims  3B - 2016 - Cumming, GA
Uncommitted

Consistently took good swings in game, showing the ability to barrel up the baseball to all parts of the field with authority and bat speed. Has smoothness in swing with loft and acceleration to contact, good strength and overall feel for hitting. Threw 82 MPH across the infield and has clean actions there.

Ryan Fortgang  OF - 2016 - Woodstock, GA
Uncommitted

Consistently showed a quick bat and advanced barrel control throughout body batting practice and game action. Ideal #2 hitter who can hit behind the runner and is overall impressive at situational hitting. Runs well and plays a quality outfield as well.

Jake McCleskey  SS - 2016 - Sandy Springs, GA
Uncommitted

Very impressive speed, turning in a 6.62 60 yard dash time, good enough to lead the event. Also took a good round of BP, using the whole field to spray line drives with good jump off the barrel. Threw 82 MPH across the infield while showing good hands and overall defensive actions.

Drew Hurst  RHP - 2016 - Tupelo, MS
Austin Peay State/Northwest Mississippi CC

Impressive in nearly every phase of the game during this event. Ran very well, posting a 6.75 seconds 60 yard dash time. Showed quick hands at the plate with good contact skills and projectable gap power, and was solid defensively in the infield as well. Pitched, and showed a FB up to 85 MPH with solid cutting action and projectable off speed stuff.

Chandler Hardiman  LHP - 2016 - Fayetteville, TN
Motlow State CC

Was impressive in several phases of the game during this event. Showed strong arm from the outfield, topping at 86 MPH, to go along with solid defensive actions and athleticism. Showed quick stroke at the plate with the ability to use the whole field, and was impressive on the mound from left side, working consistently in the low 80's with cutting action and quality command.

Trenton Davis  C - 2016 - Arden, NC
Campbell

Showed off some of the best left-handed raw power in the event during batting practice, and then showed quality overall hitability during games. Most of his power is to the pull field but he shows good ability to spray the ball to all fields when the situation calls for it, giving him an intriguing hit/power combo in his bat.

2017 Top Prospects

Trey McDaniel  RHP - 2017 - Williamsville, MO
Southern Illinois

Showed smooth, compact delivery with clean arm action and arm speed that generated fastball velocity of 84-86, touching 87 MPH, with certainly more velocity projection in there. Also showed quality strike-throwing ability to go along with full complement of off speed pitches, highlighted by sharp slider and fading changeup.

Alex Hodges  1B - 2017 - Bethlehem, GA
Uncommitted

Highly projectable body with broad shoulders and lots of room to add to his already impressive strength. Showed very well offensively in game, showing a leveraged swing with power to both gaps and more to come, doing a good job covering the plate and pretty consistently hitting the ball hard to all fields.
