2011 Top Prospects

Gage Green  OF - 2011 - Wichita Falls, TX
Oklahoma State

An outstanding two-way prospect, Gage’s arm strength is his best attribute. He was up to 90 on the mound with a tight curveball and a quality change-up. He also ran a 6.95 sixty and he showed hitting tools that project well.

Michael Gunn  1B - 2011 - Wilson, AR
Arkansas

A 6’1”, left-hander, Gunn shows a nice three-pitch mix highlight by a fastball that touched 88. He also comes right after hitters with a tight 2-8 slider and a good change-up with armside life. He also shows very good hitting ability.

Ben Joseph  RHP - 2011 - Newberry, FL
Yale

200 lb right-hander Joseph was the hardest throwers at the event as he touched 90 with his fastball. He does a good job of getting ahead of hitters and compliments his fastball with a tight 12-6 curveball.

Brady Anderson  MIF - 2011 - Arcadia, FL
Florida Gulf Coast

A highest-level infield prospect, Brady’s upside is very high as he combines a very strong arm (87) with plus speed. (6.74) He has a solid hitting approach with quick hands and good bat speed. While primarily considered to be an infield prospect, Brady was also up to 87 on the mound.

Grayson Atwood  3B - 2011 - Mt. Pleasant, NC
North Carolina

A very projectable athlete at 6’4”, 205 lb Grayson projects to show big raw power down the road. He will have the ability to play a number of different positions as he showed one of the strongest arms of any player at the event.

AJ Lardo  OF - 2011 - Baldwin, MD
Maryland

An athletic outfield prospect, AJ has big upside at the plate and in the field. He already has lots of strength in his swing with plus bat speed, while also showing a strong outfield arm (86) with good speed. (6.86)

Conor Costello  RHP - 2011 - Edmond, OK
Arkansas

A projectable 6’3” righthander Conor was up to 88 with his fastball while also showing a good feel for his curveball. He gets good life on all of his pitches and his arm action and delivery are both smooth.

Omar Garcia  OF - 2011 - Oviedo, FL
High Point

Omar posted the fastest sixty time of any player at the event with a 6.43 sixty speed. He has a top-notch defender in the outfield as he also shows a strong arm (89) to go with his plus range. Offensively, Omar does a good job of squaring the ball up and he projects very well as a leadoff hitter

Jared Walsh  1B - 2011 - Duluth, GA
Georgia

A highest-level two-way prospect, Jared’s bat really sticks out. He hit two homeruns during batting practice and has the tools to hit for both power and average. On the mound Jared also ran his fastball up to 87 and there is reason to think there is more left in him as he has a simple and easy delivery.

Patrick Kulick  LHP - 2011 - Coral Springs, FL
Miami

Patrick put on as impressive of show of any player during batting practice with three homeruns and he showed as good of raw power of any player in attendance. He can turn a pitch around with ease and has plus bat speed with good present strength. Defensively, he projects well as a right-fielder where he shows a strong arm (88) and smooth actions.

Connor Castellano  2B - 2011 - Shreveport, LA
TCU

Castellano has a very interesting left-handed stroke. The ball jumps off his bat and he hit very well in the games. His bat needs to be followed very closely.

Ronnie Glenn  LHP - 2011 - Lake Worth, FL
Pennsylvania

A highest-level two-way prospect, Ronnie was one of the top hitting prospects at the event as he has a very solid swing with plus bat speed. On the mound, Ronnie has a nice three pitch mix including a fastball that touched 85. Whether he ends up in the field or on the mound, the upside is very high for Ronnie.

Kyle Schwarber  C - 2011 - Middletown, OH
Indiana

One of top catching prospects at the event, Kyle combines plus arm strength (82) with a very quick transfer and release. He shows good bat speed at the plate and hit a homerun during batting practice.

Grant Bush  LHP - 2011 - Huntsville, AL
Auburn

A projectable left-hander at 6’4”, 185 lb Grant has a loose and easy arm and touched 85 with his fastball. He gets lots of life on all of his pitches including a tight 1-7 curveball that shows very good depth.

AJ Mazzurco  C - 2011 - Ocala, FL

A strong and athletic catching prospect, AJ has the tools to become an offensive-minded catcher. He is an aggressive hitter with good bat speed and his power projects well. AJ arm strength is one of his best attributes and he has the ability to play a number of different positions.

Taylore Cherry  RHP - 2012 - Dayton, OH
North Carolina

A 2012 prospect, Taylore is a 6’9” prospect that has outstanding upside on the mound. His arm works well and he gets outstanding life on his fastball that touched 88. Taylore also showed the making of a tight 10-4 curveball and really overmatched hitters at this event.

Mason Felt  LHP - 2012 - Hoschton, GA
Oregon State

A 2012 left-hander, Mason has a loose and easy arm and touched 88 with his fastball. He has good life on all of his pitches and shows potential plus command. Mason compliments his fastball with a big sweeping curveball.

Rock Rucker  OF - 2012 - Marietta, GA

A 2012 prospect, projection is the key word for Rucker who at 6’5”, 205 lb has highest-level potential on the mound and in the outfield. He has a smooth and easy left-handed swing and he should show the ability to hit for both power and average. On the mound Rock touched 85, while also showing the making of a quality curveball.

A 2012 prospect, Matt is a highest-level two way prospect that has the tools to excel as a middle infielder or on the mound. Offensively he drives the ball hard consistently and he hit a ball off the center field wall during the games. He is smooth defensively with clean actions and he also shows a very live fastball that touched 86.

A 2012 prospect, Cole is a strong and physical prospect at 6’3”, 215 lb and he showed some of the best hitting tools of any player at the event. He has a short swing with good present strength and should hit for both power and average down the road.

A 2012 prospect, Blake is a strong and physical prospect at 6’2”, 205 lb and was very impressive on the mound touching 88 with a fastball that has great armside run. He does a good job of locating his pitches and shows the making of a plus 12-6 curveball.

A 2012 prospect, Palmer is a highest-level two-way prospect that has big upside on the mound touching 88 with his fastball. He has a very live arm with feel for a 12-6 curveball. A good all-around athlete, Palmer posted a 7.08 sixty and has good bat speed at the plate.

A 2012 prospect, Robbie is a strong and physical prospect at 6’0”, 205 lb Robbie and has the chance to become a quality offensive-minded catcher. He produces consistent hard line-drive contact with good bat speed and sound hitting fundamentals. Defensively Robbie is very solid as he has a quick transfer and release with good raw arm strength.

A 2012 prospect, the bat really sticks out for Goldstein who was one of the best offensive catchers at the event. He has solid swing fundamentals, showing good bat speed and very quick hands.
