Copperheads win Championship

The CBA Copperheads Elite 14U defeated the Evoshield Canes South 7-4 to win the 2014 14U Labor Day Tournament at Lake Point.  Leadoff man, Jerry Bowman (2019, Smiths Station HS, AL), helped spark the Copperhead offense going 2-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI.  Caleb Johnson (2019, Northside HS, GA) showed excellent bat speed and raw power going 2-3 with 1 triple, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Trent Grantham (2019, Columbus HS, GA) added in a 1-4 day at the plate with 1 RBI.  

Colby Brabston (2019, Columbus HS, GA) earned the win for the Copperheads throwing 2 shutout innings of relief allowing just 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 1.  While on the mound, Brabston used a heavy sinking 70-72/74 mph fastball with a 58-62 mph curveball.  

For the Canes, Ray Palma (2019, Riverside HS, NC) went 2-3 with 1 double and 1 RBI.  Dalton Thomas (2019, Ola HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 double and Patrick Alvarez (2019, Myers Park HS, NC) went 1-2 with 1 run scored.  

Copperheads move on to Championship

The CBA Copperheads Elite 14u defeated the NLSC Noles 11-3 to advance past the Semifinals and into the Championship game.  Kenneth Overby (2019, Beauregard HS, AL) led the way offensively for the Copperheads going 2-2 with 1 triple, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.  Caleb Johnson (2019, Northside HS, GA) added in strong day at the plate going 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Leadoff man, Jerry Bowman (2019, Smiths Station HS, AL), helped spark the offense by going 2-2 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk from the top of the order.  Jay Kehoe (2019, Beauregard HS, AL) kept the big offensive output going as he went 1-1 with 1 RBI and 2 walks.  

Trent Grantham (2019, Columbus HS, GA) started and earned the win for the Copperheads tossing all 5 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 6 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 5.  Grantham set up hitters and showed good command of his 70-74/75 mph fastball and also mixed in a good, sinking 64-66 mph changeup and a 58-63/64 mph curveball, that showed good depth.  Grantham also had a strong day at the plate going 2-3 with 3 RBI.

For the Noles, Brandon Prince (2019, Bremen HS, GA) saw the ball jump off his bat using a short, compact swing as he went 2-3 with 1 triple with 1 run scored.  Ethan Morrison (2019, Carrolton HS, GA) and Charlie Lanier (2019, Carrolton HS, GA) each picked up 1 triple and 1 RBI in the game for the Noles' offense.  

Canes top Dodgers to advance to Championship

The Evoshield Canes South defeated the Complete Game Dodgers 5-0 in their semifinal game to advance to the Championship game.  Stan King (2019, Gordon Lee HS, GA) earned the win for the Canes as he tossed 5 shutout innings allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 9 batters.  King changed speeds and attacked hitters with his 73-76/7 mph fastball, which showed armside run, and he showed good feel for his 64-67 mph curveball. 

Offensively for the Canes, leadoff man, Patrick Alvarez (2019, Myers Park HS, NC), helped spark the offense going 2-2 with 1 triple, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 walk.  Cole Singsank (2019, Northern Durham HS, NC) also had a nice game going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Dalton Thomas (2019, Ola HS, GA) added in a 1-2 performance with 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base.  

For the Dodgers, Ryan Galanie (2019, Greenbrier HS, GA) showed a short, compact swing and good bat speed at the plate going 1-3 with 1 single.  Ridley Symon (2019, Lakeside HS, GA) also showed well working 2 walks on the day.  

Sullivan K's 10 in Team Carolina win

Team Carolina defeated the White County Warriors by a score of 8-0 in their consolation game.  Garrett Sullivan (2019, Ardrey Kell HS, NC) started and won the game for Team Carolina going 5 1/3 shutout innings allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk as he struck out 10 batters.  Sullivan featured a 61-65/67 mph fastball while on the mound and also relied heavily on his 52-56 mph curveball.  

Offensively for Team Carolina, Xavier Cumbee (2019, Nathan Ford HS, SC) led the way going 2-3 with 1 double and 1 stolen base.  Adam Tinch (2019, Parkwood HS, NC) also showed well going 1-2 with 1 run scored and 2 stolen bases.  Jack Wicker (2019, Ardrey Kell HS, NC) added in a 1-3 day at the plate with 2 stolen bases.  

For the Warriors offense, Colby West (2019, White County HS, GA) picked up the only hit for their team going 1-2 with a single.  

Johnson collects 4 hits in Knights' win

The Seminole Knights defeated the East Georgia Storm 13-2 in their consolation game.  The Knights' offense was led by Chris Johnson (2019, Dunedin HS, FL) who went 4-4 with 2 runs scored, 4 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Brandon Adkins (2019, Osceola HS, FL) also had a strong game going 2-3 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base.  Denny Atkins added in a 1-3 day with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base day at the plate.  

Nick DiMiceli (2019, Dunedin HS, FL) started and earned the win for the Knights going all 5 innings allowing 2 unearned runs on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 6.  DiMiceli featured a 57-61/62 mph fastball while on the mound and mixed in a couple 53 mph curveballs.  He also had a nice day at the plate going 1-3 with 2 RBI.  
For the Storm, Matthew Yarbray (2019, Loganville HS, GA) went 1-2 with 2 stolen bases and Brayden Merrick (2020, Locust Grove HS, GA) went 1-1 with 1 run scored and 1 walk.  

Knights and Team Carolina tie

Team Carolina and the Seminole Knights tied 3-3.  

For the Carolina offense, Sam Kagan (2019, Providence HS, NC) showed a short, compact swing and good bat speed going 1-2 with 1 triple and 1 run scored.  He also started the game and tossed 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4.  Kagan showed good command and a smooth delivery with his 62-66/67 mph fastball that showed good sinking action low in the zone.  

Garrett Sullivan (2019, Ardrey Kell HS, NC) and Connor Downing (2019, Charlotte Latin HS, SC) each had strong games as well for Team Carolina as they both went 2-3 with 1 RBI.  

The Seminole Knights' offense was led by Derek Dormois (2019, Dunedin HS, FL) who went 2-3 at the plate with 1 double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.   

Seth Parker (2019, Seminole HS, FL) started the game for the Knights taking a no decision as he tossed 5 innings allowing 3 runs, while recording 7 strikeouts.  Parker used a short arm action and attacked hitters with his 64-68/70 mph fastball that had armside run and also used a 53-57/58 mph curveball.  Parker also showed well at the plate going 1-3 with 1 RBI. 

Canes rout Warriors

The Evoshield Canes South defeated the White County Warriors 10-0 to improve to 3-0 in the tournament.  CJ DiBenedetto (2019, East Carteret HS, NC) started and earned the win for the Canes tossing 5 no-hit innings allowing just 1 walk, while striking out 5 batters.  DiBenedetto featured a 68-72/73 mph fastball while mixing in a 60-64/65 mph curveball.  

Offensively for the Canes, Jacob Brown (2019, North Davidson HS, NC) went 3-3 with 1 run scored, 2 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Hunter Gray (2019, Fannin County HS, GA) also showed well going 1-3 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.  Cole Singsank (2019, North Durham HS, NC) added in a 1-2 day with 2 runs scored, 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  

For the Warriors, Rowland picked up their only hit of the game as he went 1-2 with a single.  

CBA Copperheads cruise to Shutout Win

The CBA Copperheads Elite 14U cruised to the easy 9-0 victory, defeating Complete Game Dodgers, in convincing fashion.

Colby Brabston (2019, Columbus HS, GA) led the way, going 2-3 with a triple, single, three runs scored and one RBI in the game.  Trent Grantham (2019, Columbus HS, GA) also contributed with a triple, and finished 2-2 with a single as well, and one RBI.  Kenneth Overby (2019, Beauregard HS, AL) went 2-3 with a double, single, and one run scored.

Jerry Bowman (2019, Smiths Station HS, AL) pitched four complete innings of work, giving up three hits, and struck out four.  He had a fastball that peaked at 77 mph, and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches as well.

For the Dodgers, Will Childers (2019, Lakeside HS, GA) went 1-2 with a single, and Ridley Symon (2019, Lakeside HS, GA) also went 1-2 with a single.


NLSC Noles cruise to 10-1 Win

The NLSC Noles cruised to the easy victory, defeating the East Georgia Storm, 10-1.

Charlie Lanier (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) led the way for the Noles offense, going 1-3 with a triple, and two RBIs in the game.  Jared Aldridge (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) also contributed with a double, and finished 1-2 at the plate with two runs scored.  Jacob Cotton (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) went 1-2 with a single, two runs scored and one RBI in the game.

Lanier also pitched two innings of work, giving up one earned run on one hit and struck out one.  He had showed a fastball that topped out at 65 mph, and mixed in a curveball and a changeup for his off-speed pitches.

For the Storm, Max Smith (2019, Loganville HS, GA) went 1-2 with a single.


Early Lead Carries Dodgers to 14-5 Win

The Complete Game Dodgers scored multiple runs in each inning en route to 14-5 victory over Team Carolina. 
The Dodgers were led by Will Childers, (2019, Lakeside, GA) who went 2-2 with two singles, three RBIs and three runs scored. Tyron Wright II, (2019, Evans, GA) added two singles, two RBIs and a run while teammate Bryan Mitchell had two singles, one RBI and a run scored. 
Jared Szabo, (2019, Lakeside, GA) pitched 1.2 innings for the Dodgers, allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits. 
Adam Tinch, (2019, Parkwood, NC) led the offense for Team Carolina going 1-1 with a single, one RBI and a run scored. 

Team Carolina tops Copperheads

Team Carolina defeated the CBA Copperheads Elite 14u 5-2.  Connor Downing (2019, Charlotte Latin HS, SC) had a big offensive day going 1-3 with 1 double and 4 RBI.  Brandon Johnson (2019, Clover HS, SC) also showed well going 2-3 with 2 doubles on the day.  Sam Kagan (2019, Providence HS, NC) added in a 2-3 with 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base and 1 walk day at the plate.  

Zane Sullivan (2019, Ardrey Kell HS, NC) started and earned the win for Team Carolina tossing all 7 innings allowing just the 2 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks, while recording 8 strikeouts.  Sullivan relied heavily on his 57-62/64 mph curveball, throwing it 56% of the time.  He also threw a 70-74/75 mph fastball while on the mound.

For the Copperheads, Jerry Bowman (2019, Smiths Station HS, AL) led the way from the leadoff spot going 2-3 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base.  Mason Davis (2019, Beauregard HS, AL) also had a big game going 3-3 with 1 RBI and 2 stolen bases.  

Cotton pitches and swings Noles past Warriors

The NLSC Noles defeated the White County Warriors 9-1 in their first game of the tournament.  Jacob Cotton (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) started and won the game for the Noles tossing 6 innings allowing just 1 unearned run on 3 hits and 2 walks, striking out 7.  Cotton featured a 65-68/70 mph fastball and mixed in several 55-58 mph curveballs.  Cotton also had a strong day at the plate going 2-3 with 3 RBI on the day.  

Offensively for the Noles, Ty Murry (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) helped charge the offense going 1-4 on the day with 3 RBI.  Justin Carlyle (2019, Bremen HS, GA) also showed well going 2-3 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Ryan Anderson (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) and Zeke McDonald (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) each added in a 2-4 day with 1 run scored.  

For the Warriors, Austin Rowland went 1-2 with 1 RBI and 1 stolen base.  Colby West (2019, White County HS, GA) also impressed going 1-1 with 1 stolen base and 1 walk.  

Canes offense explodes in victory

The Evoshield Canes South defeated the East Georgia Storm 12-0 in their first game of the tournament.  Graham Dalton (2019, Chatham HS, VA) displayed a short, compact swing and got good extension as he went 2-2 on the day with 1 triple, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI.  Leadoff man, Patrick Alvarez (2019, Myers Park HS, NC), also showed well using an aggressive approach and good bat speed as going 2-3 with 1 triple, 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base.  Hunter Gray (2019, Fannin County HS, GA) and Jake Whitman (2019, William Amos Hough HS, NC) each added in a 1-2 day at the plate collecting 2 RBI, with Gray showing a live bat and good bat speed.  

Ray Palma (2019, Riverside HS, NC) earned the win for the Canes on the mound as he tossed 2 perfect innings and struck out 2.  Palma looked athletic on the mound and showed a good follow through using a 72-73/75 mph fastball.  

For the Storm, Max Smith (2019, Loganville HS, GA) and Matthew Popp (2019, Loganville HS, GA) each collected 1 single.  

Copperheads Offense Scores 13 in Win

The CBA Coppeheads Elite 14U offense came through in a big way this afternoon scoring 13 runs off 14  hits in a 13-5 win over the Seminole Knights. 
Bryce Valero, (2019, Northside, GA) had a big game offensively going 3-4 with three singles and four RBIs. Mason Davis, (2019. Beauregard, AL) also had a good offensive game going a perfet 4-4 with four singles, two RBIs and three runs scored. Jay Kehoe, (2019, Beauregard, AL) contributed to the Copperheads offense with three singles, one RBI and two runs scored. 
Kehoe also led his team on the mound throwing four innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on four hits while striking out five to earn the win. He attacked hitters with his pitches as he threw 73 percent of his pitches for strikes. 
Michael Ridge, (2020, Hollins, FL) led the Seminole Knights offense going 2-3 with a single, a triple, one RBI and two runs scored. Seth Parker, (2019, Seminole, FL) also had a nice offensive game going 1-2 with a single, two RBIs and one run scored.

The Evoshield Canes South defeated the NLSC Noles, 6-3.

Hunter Gray (2019, Fannin County HS, GA) led the way for the Canes offense, going 2-3 with two singles and one run scored.  CJ DiBenedetto (2019, East Carteret HS, NC) also contributed by going 1-3 with a single and two runs scored.  Ray Palma (2019, Riverside HS, NC) had a double in the contest and finished 1-2 at the plate with a run scored and one RBI as well.

On the mound, Jake Whitman (2019, William Ramos Hough HS, NC) went five complete innings, giving up no earned runs on just two hits and struck out eight in the game.  He had a fastball that averaged 72-74 mph and mixed in a handful of curveballs as his off-speed pitch.

For the Noles, leadoff hitter Ryan Anderson (2019, Carrollton HS, GA) went 1-1 with a single and one RBI on the day.

The White County Warriors cruised to the easy 10-2 victory, as they defeated the East Georgia Storm in convincing fashion.

Rowland led the way for the Warriors offense, going 1-2 at the plate with a single, one run, and two RBIs in the game.  Palmer also contributed by going 1-2 as well, with a single and two RBIs of his own.  He also pitched five complete innings of work, giving up two earned runs on four hits, and struck out seven.  He had a fastball that averaged 64-67 mph and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

For the Storm, Austin Stallings (2020, Walnut Grove HS, GA) went 1-2 with a single and two RBIs.  Leadoff hitter Corbin Shaw (2020, Rockdale County HS, GA) also went 1-2 with a single and one run scored.

Complete Game Dodgers defeated the Seminole Knights, 5-4.

Tucker Meyer (2019, Greenbrier HS, FL) led the way on the offensive end for the Dodgers, going 2-2 with two singles and one stolen base.  Tyron Wright II (2019, Evans HS, FL) also helped with the production, going 1-2 with a single and one run scored.  Ridley Simon (2019, Lakeside HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single, one run, and one RBI.

For the Knights, Chris Johnson (2019, Dunedin HS, FL) led the way, going 2-3 with two singles and two runs scored in the game.  Seth Parker (2019, Seminole HS, FL) and Jacob Richards (2019, Osceola HS, FL) each went 1-3 with a single a piece.
